Designed as the successor of the Douglas DC-3 the Fokker F-27 Friendship was a 28 seat passenger plane engineered and commissioned in the late 1950's. The F-27 served many years successfully as a passenger craft but would later take on a successful role as an air cargo ship. With a payload of 6 tonnes the Fokker F-27 is still in service today and is a popular choice for express cargo shipments.
Featuring a full fiber glass fuselage with built up ply and balsa construction this model is sure to attract attention. Two 28 size 1600kvbrushless out runners will be required for (one for each wing) along with a 30Amp ESC for each motor. Five 9g servos will be required as the model features a twin servo elevator setup with a shared servo for rudder and the steerable nose wheel. All the general hard ware (Push rods, screws, landing gear etc) is included to get this kit underway. You will also require your own transmitter and receiver (Tx/Rx).
This is not a beginners model and some modeling experience will be required to complete this kit. However the finished product will be of a high quality and will last a life time.

je viens de recevoir le f 27 tres belle finition mais j ai un probleme il n y a pas de notice de montage , pour les nacelles moteur et surtout pour le centrage ,,help
am waiting for my model arriving should be here monday, just had a look at the files on here all in chinese, are the instructions with the model in english.
hello, can i use 2 Turnigy L2215J-900 Brushless Motor, Thrust: 820g x 2, and Total Length E (mm) 49, with Master Airscrew propeller 7x4 THANK YOU........
Apart for the wonderful suggestion concerning the vote for the DASH-8 which I had to agree with whole heartedly, nobody actually answered the question concerning the optimum MOTORS, PROPELLERS, BATTERIES, and ESC setup for this F-27 FRIENDSHIP on here. Please share your setup "WHICH WORKS" ...THANKS.
It isn't ignored at all, it's noted and looked at, however, idea to production would be 6 months, provided the design works but firstly, we have to be convinced it would sell.
Just a general question, does anyone else have the same problem reading reviews and discussion after you click "click here to read more..."?
The bottom of the frame (the blue part with "News Wap... etc" does not go away and I can't read the words at that area. It was better before they changed the look of the page. We used to have a scroll bar on the right.
Yeah I have that trouble too - at first I thought it was my browser but have tried Internet explorer, firefox and google chrome and it's the same on all of them - its a real shame as it makes it hard to follow what is being said. - Wish the'd sort it out!
Anybody been flying this plane. Mine crashed on take off - perhaps used too small motors. But if anybody have flewn this plane, please share your experience with us curious guys and tell us what motors you used, battery size and amount of cells as well as CG. Hope to hear from you.
Hmm that is a shame - how much power (thrust) to weight did you have? these days with the electric technology I wouldn't go less than 1 to 1 so the motors have sufficient power to hold the planes weight with the planes nose vertical as it is always easy to throttle down for scale flight but impossible to get more power if you are at full throttle and in trouble. The balance point should be at around 1/4 to 1/3 of the wing chord measured half way out the wing from the front - 1/4 will make it mor
Thanks Napstri for good tips. I don't have the crashed plane here so can't check what motors I used but they were Turnigy and the largest ones that could fit in the motor bays. And I use 3 bladed Master props - think they were 8 x 6 and one of them counter rotating. Anyhow I liked the kit so much so I have bought another one and will make sure it has the power and CG you netions. Thanks again for the good advises. Would be nice to also hear from somebody who has flewn the plane - I guess you haven't?
It took off, climbed to around 10 meter, made a left turn, lost control and crashed. Possibly too little power, to heavy for the speed, maybe even radio problem but I used original Spectrum Rx. Who nows, - or nobody knows but Jesus as they say.
I read in the reviews that you had the same On the preview page you had the same manner of crash on the maiden flight of a YS-11. That sounds like the motor on one side is producing more thrust than the other. During the take off roll it may not be so obvious cos the wheels on the ground keep the plane straight and level, but once it takes off, the higher thrust on one side starts to come into play and it slowly goes into a left turn...next time it happens chop power and try to glide it in to land.
Thanks David, actually I checked the RPM and Wattage on the motors prior to flight and they were OK. I think reason was too little power and bad piloting - I am kind of new. And possibly a too steep take off. Anyhow, I will repair the old one whern time permits and test again before completing the new one.
Your airplane may have gone into stall. This is quite common even in the high wing plane like Cessna. I would let the plane gains enough air speed before making any turn. Also, the climb should be moderate.
Thanks gosnuts, I think you are right and indeed will make sure I have enough speed before trying a turn. I haven't yet completed the repairs and will remember your good advise, thanks.
Sorry Fahrettin, I don't know as I havent rebuild my plane yet. I have too many other projects so it will take some time. Why don't you ask the guy in the review section who has been flying this plane successfully after some crashes. I will anyhow ask him
Not sure what JIT stands for but HobbyKing has a warehouse across the border in china. So it has to come from that warehouse to HobbyKing and be packed and dispatched from Hong Kong.
I think it means Just In Time which is a term used for keeping stocks at a minimum level. I guess HK have limited space at the head office and have another larger stock at another place where items are sent to head office only when they receive an order.
I measured the clearance from the centre of the motor to the surface of the nearest fuselage and it was 10cm. Therefore, a 8" propeller may hit the fuselage.
Model weight 1400g, shipping weight 2481g and you are adding another box with weight 439g? How can I order motors/esc's/servos/battery together with plane when there are only 79g left up to 3kg and after that shipping price goes insane. At least, pls, bring it to DE warehouse, then I'll order plane from there and parts from HK.
I am sure it is a type, but for the point of humor, it states above: "Two 28 size 1600kv brushless out runners will be required for each wing". I am sure they mean one for each wing, but adding 2 to each wing would make it a rocket :)
COULD WE PLEASE ASK THE SUPPLIER TO MAKE A MODEL OF THE DASH 8?????????? YOU HAVE 3 OF US HERE BEGGING FOR ONE AND I KNOW AT LEAST SEVERAL DOZEN AIRLINE PILOTS WHO'D JUMP ON THIS TO! PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO YOUR SUPPLIER! MUCH THANKS, A FORMER DASH 8 CAPTAIN!
2nd that, would like to see a DASH 8 either in the 100 or 300 series. I am a previous Mechanic of these planes and would love to see one. Know alot of people who would be interested as well. Either Foam or Fiberglass would be great.
Definetly Kevin, No stickers attached would be the best. But I would prefer a 100 or 300. With or Without Retracts. I am sure with a nacelle the size of the Dash 8 would can always work out something :)

If I had my choice I would ask for a Dash-8 300 with retracts & flaps .
That was my favorite version to fly, and in my honest opinion had the most elegant lines. Just like you guys are saying, all white so we can detail it in the airline colors of our choice.
Hi all
I got mine today and i am very happy with the quality of this plane.
The paint job is perfect.
I use to work at Fokker Ypenburg near The Hague in Holland on the F27
It looks beautiful But ... if this bird ever wants to fly the wings need some serious lining up . The stablilo is tilted down a few millimeter on the left side and the other side is tilted up same amount , also if u look from the top its not in line .
Same for the main wing its not in line , left is a few mill down and right is up a few mill
Noting i can't fix but this way it won't fly very good. So be aware for lining up the stabilo and main wings
I am afraid to fly this plane so far i seen 2 story's about crash at takeoff any one got a good experience ?
Guys I guarantee you that if HOBBYKING puts a DASH-8 on here it will sell out in the first few minutes and will continue to sell out every time they posted it as being in stock...lol. (Heck I'l probably be the cause of those sell outs)
Received my F27 this week. Worked at Fokker, Schiphol from 1967 to 1976, so I have a vivid interest in this model.] It looks very nice, but it came without any assembly instructions. Was told by customer service rep. that clicking on "Files" above would get me to a link for a pdf file. No such luck...

the best ARF plane ever, very nice finished, excellent fiber glass work. very nice detailed and scaled plane. light and strong structure. regards from Venezuela

I recently received my F27 and was very impressed with the quality and finish of this model. It is almost ready to fly with all the good bits from Hobby King. The only thing that concerns me is the C/G location as indicated in the (Chinese) instructions, States 50- 55mm from the leading edge at the wing root. I have determined,by measurement, that this figure is at the Mean Aerodynamic Chord and this translates to 63-68mm at the wing root. This is a large difference! Would anyone agree with me?
