Designed for planes only, the H-KING escs are an excellent choice for any plane requiring linear, sharp and reliable throttle response on a 35A esc.
H-KING speed controllers have strict end-of-line QC testing and are SMT (Pick-n-Place) in the same room as the through-hole soldering(wires, capacitor) and packaging is done. Improving quality and reducing contamination and inconsistencies due to transportation. The H-KING 35A includes an XT-60 and 3.5mm gold plugs pre-soldered, plus to make it even easier it comes pre set-up with LiPo settings and Auto cell detection. The H-KING Speed Controller includes a 2A BEC (Battery Elminator Circuit) to power your receiver, there is no need to have a seperate receiver battery. The H-KING range of ESCs are both economic and reliable, plus they dont need any setup or soldering. Just plug it in and fly!
I can get to the first multi-tone ring upon plugin and the battery count in beeps but will not go to the second multi-tone ring, indicating the ESC sees full throttle. when I move the stick to half throttle I get nothing also. I'm trying to turn the brake on for my Phoenix 2000.???
OK so now my issue is that when throttle is set to zero, I have a single beep every 30 seconds. Doing a search of this suggests other manufacturers have this feature to alert you the plane is still armed, is this the case with this particular esc? I've not had it happen on any of my other HK brand escs and the manual says nothing about it. I've also tried several times to reset it to default and ensure my throttle range is properly set.
I have 10A and 50A rated ESC of this blue H-King serial and they both are acting like you describted. They just beep every 30 seconds when throttle is set to zero.
Thank you for the try but Google was my first stop. Search your exact phrase in-page returns this as the #1 hit. All others point to this page or sales references.
hey, my 35A FMS esc is broken i think, because it makes weird noises and heats up a lot so i need a new one, but i have a spare 30A speed controller, does the 5A make any difference? or should i just buy a new one??
Thanx
well if your motor requires 35A speed controller , then you should get a 40A esc for that motor, a lil higher is always better for both motor and esc. but if your motor requires 25A esc, then you can use 30A esc with no problems. and if your motor's esc requirements are 30A then I would suggest you to get a 35A esc for that.
yes it will work fine if the motor's requirements are 30A esc. if the motor requires 35A esc then I would suggest you to get a 40A esc. a lil higher is always better for cool operation of both motor and esc.
I bought this ESC and it is stuck in program mode with 4 continuos beeps. I had it working but somehow got confused in the programming of the esc. now all it does is beep. Tried reversing channel, different tx, al the forum suggestions. Now what?
Search google for "ecalc" its a free online calculator that allows you to enter a lot of different variables to see if your setup will work. You should also join the R/C forums like RCuniverse & rc groups. There are a lot of threads for newbies with lots of good information. Good Luck and have fun...
If you are new to rc stuff that site will likely confuse you. Your question is best answered elsewhere (many forums online dedicated to that topic) do some reseach online, "rcgroups" forum would be a good place to look to get that info. use google. (sorry its dependant on many factors and well discussed online)
I have this with a 28-36 1050 kv motor. The motor works without a prop or a 9x4 prop, but with a 10" prop it gets to 1/2 throttle then shuts down. Please help.
Sounds like your exceeding the max. AMPS for this ESC or your battery voltage is dropping to low. You should test your setup with a Watt meter. Hobby King sells a great one called the "HK-010 Power Analyzer"
How many millimeters is its connectors? And can i use this ESC with this motor: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__19037___T urnigy_Park480_Brushless_Outrunner_850kv_.html
Looking for ESCs for a quadcopter running AX-2810Q 750KV Outrunner Brushless Motors. Was thinking of getting a 4S Lipoly. It seems to recommend a 35A ESC. Will this one work/recommended?
This Esc was designed for fixed-wing aircraft. However, it may still work just fine. There is a series of esc's that HK has called multistar. I would go with one of those.
My motor has a drag with ESC connected but when radio and battery is connected the drag disapears. I tried to program the drag out but cannot . Is this normal?
ESC conencted to motor and no RX and battery is not flight condition and actually the MOSFET drivers in the ESC have their gates floating (since the ESC is not powered up) which can result in drag on the motor. When the ESC is correctly powered up and armed the motor is subject to the ESC programming options.
i also put this in a bixler as i found my esc was getting a little hot.... if you use a soldering iron and make a hole in the hatch then it should cool it down alot.
You go into programming mode according to the instructions embedded in the Files tab and select the desired 4 short and 3 long, it is a soft cutoff, 4 short and 4 long a tight shutoff. 1 long and 6 short cut-off voltage is 9V 1 long and 5 short cut-off voltage is 12V.
If it's like the smaller 10A one it should default to cell autodetection. But I'fe read people complaining that it's not working reliably.Be prepared to land yourself when you notice that performance is dropping conciderably.
works fine with me - I have it on my Ultimate EP Biplane with 2 aileron, 1 rudder, 1 elevator servos powered from a 3S 2100 25C pack. I also have one in my Parkjet that carries 3S and 4S packs .. never a glitch or loss of power at all. All cheap 9gr servos as well but analogue - no digitals.
It depends on the servos and how much your flying demands on the servos. Regarding the 4S operation it's ok on this ESC but the integrated BEC is only 2A better make sure your 4 servos under load stay within 2A.
Good afternoon, can use without problems respecting the qualifications of the speed and engines that consume 35A, and maximum consumption (peak) of 42A for a period of 15s. you can use engines with greater consumption, type A, but 40 must have a conscience that can accelerate fry your esc and motor.
hug
Program card is not included. You program this ESC by using the throttle stick and listening to beep tones. It takes some practice and patience - but once done - its done.
Hi All. am using a 36mhz jr system with sep battery pack, and every time I have trouble with jittering sservos. Is my ESC too close to my rx and if so would extending leads to move the ESC forward as far as possible solve this problem
Servo jitter can be caused a more than a few things. A ***r quality rx may cause it, rx too close to motor or esc, incorrect binding (analogue or digital) on the rx. The servo itself may be faulty.
tx on throtle 100pcnt plug in batt ait for beeps telling how many cells in batt wait til second beeps finish put throttle down to 0pcnt wait for conformation beeps now in brake mode. to turn off do exsactly same thing again..
ps please credit me i am saving for a 200A esc *}
Throttle stick at top/max/100%. turn ON Tx. Connect ESC to motor, RX and battery. Hear few beeps, move throttle stick to middle, hear beeps, move to top hear beeps again then move to middle should hear 4 beeps in a row. 1 beep for battery (move stick to TOP for LIPO, DOWN for LITHIUM), move stick to middle, 2 beeps for brake, (move stick to Top BRAKE ON, Down BRAKE OFF, move stick to middle then pull battery. Hope this help with your question.
My unit will not come out of program mode.
After the last question it either goes quiet or makes two beeps over and over. No matter how I "terminate" the last question, the prop goes frantic after about thirty seconds, stopping and reversing directions randomly
the beep is normal.. it show ur what cell u left.. if 3 beeps mean 3 cell.. that what i know.. if ur prop going reversing that mean u need change ur yellow and black wire opposite to your motor.. dun change RED wire
hello friend.please try checking if the battery voltage is fine, then check the cable connection, check the rx cable polarity and/or channel used. if you use futaba you must reverse throttle channel first. if nothing works try again to enter program mode: hight throttle position, then turn on the plane...
i hope it helps. regards
I had an ESC do something like this, one of the HK SS. I had blown a low side FET from getting it wet and at some point during the start up (you know when the motor twitches) the ESC was resetting due to a short. You could test the resistance of each phase to power and ground to see if you have something incongruous.
go to your historie-list(in your account). Look ESC up and there you will find it under the price : FILES <**- press it and open manual for the ESC so you can adjust settings manually without the need of a program card !

i'm very satisfied with this ESC. it has very nice "after connect" beep sound :) Sounds better than TGY's sound :) using with Turnigy 2836 1000kV motor with 10x5 prop without any problems :)
I want to say that it is very lightweight, complete with built-in battery is available for setting up a user control, the price is acceptable, but the quality? Connecting the controller to the motor (without propeller), performed music, has set up full throttle in general everything is working. Tried to give full throttle it was fine, turned off again tried here the motor was convulsively twitching. Thought that the engine failed, another took the same, then the regulator. Had to be disassembled inside all was normal transistors whole track too. Thermal paste is of very poor quality is more like a silicone sealant. In general, I concluded that this program failed.

Bought 2 off these. The first broke down during the second flight. Motor suddenly stopt. After that it only twitches two directions.
Overall disappointing also because what the description is saying, I quote:
"H-KING speed controllers have strict end-of-line QC testing and are SMT (Pick-n-Place) in the same room as the through-hole soldering(wires, capacitor) and packaging is done. Improving quality and reducing contamination and inconsistencies due to transportation."
First flight was promising because of the excellent linear throttle response.
Hopefully the second one works longer then two flights. Still thinking if I send the broken one back because of the cost.
