Yes, it is the same structure. You can verify this by comparing the list of available spare parts. I think this kind of truck named short course truck because you usually drive such in a short course round track to measure your driving skills with others:)
Hi, Has anyone had experience with upgrading this car and found the car cant handle it? Would this upgrade be OK for speeding down the beach?...
Corona DS339HV Digital Metal Gear Steering Servo 5.1k..
High Quality Aluminum Shocks..
Tire/Wheel - Turnigy 1/10 2WD Desert Racing Buggy (or my preference - Trailblazer 1/8 tires)..
Hobby King Brushless Car ESC 100A w/ Reverse..
S3650-3980 Brushless Inrunner (3980kv)..
Will the car handle the upgrades?
Also how long have people been waiting for orders to be restocked?
Cheers :)
Do not order this product, because I paid for it at the April 11, 2012, and still have not received any goods or money back and no comments from Hobby King.
If you don´t want to wait i suggest you buy the turnigy short course truck, it´s allmost direct copy from traxxas slash and slash is one of the best and most durable cars i have myself
anyone knows if the ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 3S1P 30C (sku.8587) that I have for my Revo will fit into this truck? They have stated 144x51x27mm dimensions but in reality the are a bit longer since the end with cables is not flat
I know HK states 140x50x50mm MAX SIZE but wanted to check anyways cause it is a big decision point for me since I could use the same batteries in both the Revo and this SC truck. If they would fit I would seriously be thinking about getting it. I have a spare mini revo velineon motor and 65A quark roadster esc and with some grippier 2.8 or SC wheels/tires that I already happen to have this truck could be a great cheap basher. Would be great if they offered just the chassis so I could fit my own motor and esc as well and save on paying for that weak stock electronics it is equipped with.
If you want it to actually sit flat on the chassis, the only way to fit anything longer than 140mm is to drill new holes in the chassis. I ordered the softpack that HK recommended when I ordered the truck**unfortunately they were recommending a battery that was longer than 140mm. The only way I could make it fit securely without drilling the chassis was to stand it up on its edge diagonally across the battery box.
Hey guys prob the most dumbest thing ever but, Do you have to break in brussless motors?? i know that with brushed motors you do but do you? Sorry i race 1/5 GAS cars
i changed the motor, for a 5mm shaft. i have to change the pinion (original is 3.17) wich want do i have to buy??? 13t 5mm 32 pitch (what does it mean the pitch??)
You need silicon oil to fill the diffs and refill shocks. I use 10000wt oil for diffs and 35wt for shocks. Graphite grease or its analog is best for bearings. wd-40 is good only if you need to move some rusted parts, but it's not a good grease.
i got my car 2 week ago and somthing strange happen to me know.after i turn on the car she start to run good but after 10 sec' she drive slow only when i turn off the swith and than turn it on she drive ok but 10 sec after it is happenning again also when restrat the system and the car wheels is in air the thing dont return. any idea??????
anybody know which program card fit for this car? coz the brake and the reverse is very weak. i have try 2 different type programcard for this car, but it doesnt work.
You should have got a manual for the ESC when you got it ?? Hold set key down and turn on ESC it will start to flash green , 1st for running mode, 2 for drag brake force , 3 for low voltage cut-off, let botton off on the one you want to set , then it flashes red from 1 up to about 6 by pushing the set botton , to comform turn off the ESC , to set something else go do it all again ,
hope this helps !
cheers Brendon
Also just seen a photo on the manual of a program card , and it looks to me to be this one ! Turnigy Product ID TG-Prog , it only has three modes that you can change , same as I have on paper !
cheers Brendon
I am trying to program the ESC but I am unable to get it to change the setting. I can enter the programming mode and listen through the different programmable items and the ESC behaves as the manual describes. However, when I hold the set key for 3 seconds when I hear the item's value I want to use, it does not emit 2 long tones as per the manual, it does nothing and no changes are saved.
Has anyone else experienced this, is it a faulty ESC? Many thanks to anyone who takes the time to help.
When you hear the items value you have to press the button once, only short press. After that press it once again and hold for 3 seconds to save settings. That works, I tried on my trooper.
I put in a XK3665-B-2700KV Brushless Inrunner with a Hobby King Brushless Car ESC 100A and a 13 tooth pinion (you need the pinion since the motor shaft on the XK3665 is 5mm)
TOTALLY AWESOM!!
Another thing I did was grab some 2.8" monster tires of ebay, along with the upgraded esc and motor the car heaps of power and traction
Hi there, I,am runing the EZ-RUN 10T 3900kv with the Turnigy 35A car ESC , So far very happy , good race speed for the track , on a two cell lipo !!
one of the best things is to change wheels , I have put on the rims from my hpi blitz short course truck and jconcepts goose ***ps,

1 thumbs up!
On opening the box my first thought was Wow!. The truck was well packed and arrived in execllent condition as usual. I was supprised at the weight (in a good way) and the construction which seems to have a gas car ruggedness to it. I quickly installed a pre bound hk reciever and wheel radio and a charged 2200 3s lipo, 5 minutes later I had the truck roaring around a grass track for fifteen minutes before rain set in, so this review is based on first impressions. I think this is a really nice truck for the dollars spent in comparison to similar models sold in my locale, it has a great out of the box power to weight ratio for the short course truck that it is and it is very responsive, forward and reverse. Nice product sourcing HK, thanks

I made some tests with GPS and data measurement
Top speed 52km/h, peak current ~100A peak power ~900W
Very light, I measured ~2.6kg
Average current coonsumtion: 13A with 3 cells.
Good drivability, the backend is a little unstable on road. Offroad good.
- front arm is very delicate, already borke it a couple of time. On the last time I lost the shaft between wheel and differential and this part is not available in the spare parts. Hopefully HK will provide it soon.
Besides that I was neverless impressed by its speed and acceleration and light weight.

A quick note about the battery charger! It will take an input voltage of 100 - 240 volts AC! This means that even though it comes with an Asian plug on it, you can solder on an American style plug and use it just fine! I did it today and it charges batteries just fine!!!
