The Turnigy 2650mAh Transmitter pack fits snuggly into any Futaba or Jr radio which uses a 4x4 AA cell battery configuration (see image). It includes discharge plugs for both JR, Spektrum plus other radios. It's built with a low C-rate Long Life LiCo Formular which isn't like a standard LiPo. It retains voltage for months on end without need for a storage charge so you can store your radio and fly once a month and not have to worry about discharging or recharging your pack.
With a capacity of 2650mAh this lipoly replacement for your old NiCD or NiMH will last four to five times longer. Can someone please explain me, on a detailed base how I connect this battery to a Turnigy 9x? I bought this battery because I thought it was just simple plug and play but it seems that the cables do not fit. Which wire goes where?

Although the 9X battery plug has 3 pins, just trim that white discharge plug (don't know what it is called) so it fits. Just be sure that the red (positive) pin connects to the center of the 9X battery plug.
Hey guys, I'm looking for the plug that you find on the end of a 2S battery lead. I want to fit this battery to my turnigy 9x. The original 8xAA battery pack has the male plug (identical to a 2s lipo plug) but I'd rather keep it intact as I don't think the plug is reuseable. Can anyone help me with this?
note: I'm aware that I can use the black JR connector inside the existing terminal, but if I accidentally reverse the polarity I'll brick my transmitter.
I just received the battery and the leads need to be reversed. The black lead needs to be on the left. To swap leads just gently prise the thin plastic strip away from the lead and pull the lead out. Do the same for the other lead and then press then both back in so the black lead is on the left. This ensures so you have the correct polarity
yes you can.i use it in my jr.i had had the same probem.i asked the support team of hk and they told me to use it.i did it and now i have 12v bat.no problem.
I intend to build a gokart with a brushless motor. Can the battery be charged in any way in this setup? I mean while cruising, like a normal DC motor would. (regenerative braking)

This kind of charger put the input amperage through discharge lead,so you don't need to plug balance lead* but the best for the batteries is a balance charging, that's up to you. Although to use the charger you describe, you have to get the proper charger cable, may be product id: 601CC-14-30c between others.
Very very likely, yes. The only unknown will be the connection wires, however since this battery includes both a JR/Spektrum style AND a futaba-style plug you should not have to change connectors. Physically it will fit as this battery is sized to replace the 8-AA holder which most transmitters come with.
Hi - will this battery work with the Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 6A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories?

I can charge this lipo with the accucel6. But I trimmed the black discharge plug so it fits the custom XT60 to JST adapter I made. You can also buy the XT60 - JST Female in-line power adapter PRODUCT ID: XT60-JSTF along with this lipo.

Yes that charger will work perfectly. The rhino batt is rated at a slightly lower capacity, but not enough to matter much. They're similar batteries, just different brands. I would go with the Turnigy brand
Yes you can, but you will probably provide your own charge leads for this. As the charger you mentioned doesn't have any. As for the comparison with R2620-TX-3, I'll choose this one for two reasons. 1. availability. 2. cost. Any performance difference is probably negligible.
if you flash the radio (which really works in 5V) with custom rom then the best choice is a 2s Battery cause the Radio BEC is linear and so the most amount of energy just goes to heat.
Linear Bec (like 7805) want 5V 1.2V=6.2V so with a 2 cell will always work even in almost empty battery 6.4V-6.6V.
in my receiver there is no way to fit the black connector and then to install the battery. Maybe the plug is longer or the female in the transmiter is diferent position than Neash says.
No the servo type JR plug will not fit in the 9x. I soldered a 2s balance plug to a wire with a female JR so I just leave that wire in the Tx and when I take the battery out I just disconnect it from the JR plug
I stand corrected lol I guess it will fit. But I tried it on mine and its a little lose and I would want it to come off mid flight so since I already have my cable im going to continue to use it
yes you can but not with the black jr cause then the battery will not fit in place. The best connector is the white small but remember that inside the transmitter has 3 pin connector. the middle one is positive and both the 2 outer ones are negative. So be careful to plug the red cable in the middle pin.
I have the same question.
The battery is new with only 2 charges on it. When i tried to recharge it when the open voltage was 3.65v (almost empty according to lipo charts voltage/capasity) it only took 850mah at a 0.5 c rate charging current (1.3A). So i am confused what to do with this battery. Leave it to go less voltage lets say 3.2-3.3V(and use more capasity) or to recharge it at 3.65-3.7V like normal lipo to keep it in the safe place but really use much less than the real capasity?
You mean 3.65V per cell I hope :) That's weird though* you can go ahead and run it down to around 3.4V/cell 10.2V total (This is safe) and see how it works.

The Turnigy. With much more capacity, it'll last a lot longer between charges. The advantage to the LiFe is the lower voltage, but the 9x runs fine on 3S lipos, and also you have to have a LiFe compatible charger to charge the HobbyKing
I dont know the specifics, but you might as well get a normal, higher discharge rated battery. The same capacity battery would probably be cheaper and better suited. You might also need a voltage regulator (UBEC)* depending on your requirements
I just got one and am going to use it in my JR XP9303 with a voltage regulator I'm getting from A Pro Hobbies because the nominal voltage is 1.5V higher than the 9.6V standard NiMH TX pack.
I'm trying to get charge/discharge specs and general info about this battery. Turnigy product discription is "It's built with a low C-rate Long Life LiCo Formular which isn't like a standard LiPo." However, the label on the battery says "LiPo".
What is the proper charge rate and technique? What is the proper/safe charge cut-off voltage upper limit. What is the proper/safe discharge voltage lower limit?
Sounds like a great setup, and am looking forward to using it- just want to have more specific info on this battery. Thanks...........
You still charge it with LiPo setting in your charger at 1C charging rate (2.6A - 2.7A). Upper and lower limit should be the same as in lipo. No lower than 3V and no higher than 4.2V per cell. But to protect your lipo pack, I recommend not letting it drop below 3.5v per cell.
i got this for my 9x and it works great, but i'm wondering do i need to disconnect it from the TX while charging or can i leave it connected and charge through the second discharge plug (jr) ?
I have a JR too and I always unplug the battery to charge. Don't want anything happening to an expensive radio even if it's not likely anything will go wrong.
Nice battery. Fits perfect in my airtronics RD 6000 and 8000. As well as my graupner mx24-s.

The battery came with the output polarity reversed. Damaged my Transmitter and now HobbyKing does not want to stand behind their product. If I could give this battery negative stars I would, along with their lack of support for a manufacturing defect. Hobby King is off my list of places to purchase.
