The motor/fan is very noisy, is this normal? My first attempt at flight was an epic fail. Seems like it didn't have enough power to actually fly. With full throttle it nosed up a little bit but then dove down and right. Couldn't compensate with enough stick. I'm running a 1000mAh 3S battery. Second attempt resulted in a wing breaking off and one of the bombs. Kind of frustrated now but willing to try again.

Find some smooth grass to sit it on, and just hit high throttle it will rise off the ground.

What is the kV rating of the motor supplied with this model?

Can anyone let me know where the CG is? I lost the manual during a move... Thanks!

it is 95mm from the leading edge at the wing root

Does the aircraft come in silver or red. I've seen some of these in red.....

The Mini Mig-15 only comes in silver. The red one is offered in the full size mig here on HobbyCity.

I received the Mig 15 last week in excellent condition. Only modification: cutout the small foam divider in the battery compartment to accommodate the a 6100 2.4 receiver and a small hole to run the right aileron servo lead. The CG is well documented. I added 1.5 oz of lead in the nose to balance. Flies like a dream with no bad flight characteristics. Flies fast and extremely slow. Landings are slow and predictable. Conclusion a great small jet.

Good quality of foam. I had to balance the fan. Used a 1000mah 3s battery. The jet has a tendency to pitch up when throttle up and pitch down when fly slow. Crashed a few times, but repairable because the foam is very thick. also I had to replace the elevator servo. mine was defective. Battery compartment is too small for radio and battery. I had to enlarge the area. My mini mig AUW was 390g. Thrust produced by the stock edf unit is about 300g . I also enlarged ailerons. Still couldn't do all rolls.

I've had my Mig for about 2 weeks now. I'm running an extra Airfield system from my 109 and it works great. Did need to modify the fuse a bit to get the 1300mah 3s in the nose but everything works great! Thisis a very fun plane to fly in the backyard. Really in joy and plan to pick up other and do some nice paint schemes to see how nice I can make them. If you have been flying a bit and want a nice ductfan then this is one to pick up.

Flies great. I didn't attach the bombs. It took off from its belly on the snow(in Minnesota), pretty awesome. Watch your CG as its pretty quick and you could get in trouble fast if its not balanced. I'm flying with 800-1000mah, 3s, 20C lipos.

Wow, what a blast! Just got my MIG-15 from the US Warehouse and had it ready to fly in a couple of hours. It balanced out nicely with a 1300mAh-3S (Parkzone) battery although I did have to trim a little foam away from the canopy to get it to close properly. Took it out to the field for the maiden, and the first launch was an epic fail. Not enough throttle and way too much elevator. Landed softly though. Second attempt, 100pcnt throttle, and it climbed up, up, and away. Had to add a bunch of down and left trim, but then if flew beautifully. Much faster than I expected. My only other ducted fan experience is with a HK A-10 which is very SLOW in comparison. The battery cutoff on the ESC if quite abrupt, chopping the power down almost instantly. I turned it into the wind and expected it to drop like a rock, but to my surprise it just glided for what seemed like an eternity. Nearly ran out of field, but it set down very gently. Overall I'd give it a 9/10 due to the small battery compartment, but well worth the $70. Great job HK!
