J3 Blue Airplane Model w/ Brushless system Plug-n-Fly (USA Warehouse)
Simple to fly, and only 20 minutes to build. All electronics are pre-installed and the included 2410/20A power system gives long flight times and plenty of power on as little as a 1000mAh 3S battery.
It tells you what type of battery it has at the requirements. You will need a 11.1V 1000mah 3S Lipoly battery. You could probably get a bigger one but have to level the weight out.
A KIT is where you get all the parts to build the body of the plane itself (fuselage and wings), but you will have to add ALL the electronics and necessary accessories yourself, such as motors, propellers and servos.
I use a 1500 ma cut the top of the box out and pack the rest with foam from a cushion so it holds it tight.the square box makes it hard to get a lipo that will fit good.it was made for MiMH batt packs.you may stack 2X 1000ma to get 3 cell,2000ma have not tryed this yet but it would be close??
You should receive the model you order. I just order a plug n fly decathlon and it was exactly what I ordered. It's not impossible to get a mix up in shipping but, any issues could be easily fixed.
I got the kit version. Do I need to make my own motor motor mount from plywood or is there a piece of hard plastic I can buy that is made for this kit? The firewall has that odd "happy face" and isn't completely flat!
yes the main thing also is the price because HK has to ship from CHINA or where ever from over sea's ,but u no what its still worth the price ,i dont think you can get this at a better price .
I would be better if they were located in the central region, I am on the east coast and I get my EMS orders faster from China than from the usa wharehouse, go figure!
looks like i see a creas or line for ailerons , but maybe not ,but im sure if your inovative you can do ailerons but im sure it flys fine.( i think the line isee is just that just a line to simulate there there.
I received my J3 on June 4th from the USA warehouse and it was indeed PNF. This plane flies extremely well, very suitable for a beginner. Adding ailerons is not an option due to the under cambered wing design. Battery placement for a 1300 LiPo required cutting some foam up forward. Would highly recommend this plane, great flyer and terrific value!
I had the same thing happen to me. I finally did get ahold of cs. you have to take pictures and email them with pics attached.... which I did...a week ago....still no response!
Hey I'm a newbie to that's why I was banking on getting what I paid for. I sent the pictures off and finally got someone to answer at the USA warehouse. they told me wait 3-7 days for a response.
Wow reece517, your experience is exactly like mine. I bet you get an email back from your pictures asking you what exactly is missing. And just like it did me, it is going to piss you off for the incompetence.

No, I have not received the electronics or motor. I have done all they have asked me to. ie... pictures of package, emails, list of what is missing etc. and all I have received back is that they have opened an investigation. Ridiculous! How hard is it to fix this?! How did your pay pal complaint turn out? I may have to go that route.
they denied my $33.14 refund which is only the difference in the price of the plane with no power system.I sent them another message through paypal if they don't get back to me by Monday I'll be filing a claim.I had to file a claim once on Ebay when a vendor never sent me my order and in like 10 days my account was refunded.If you bought your order through paypal don't let it get to late to file a claim.
This sucks big time! HK really needs to sort out there customer service regarding returns .I

You have got to be kidding me! Did you even look at the pictures that I sent? You sent me KITS! You did not send me ARFs or RTFs. Seriously, this has got to be the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. What was the reason for sending you pictures and weighing the package if you don't even bother to look? For that matter, why don't you look at your website and look at all the comments that other customer's have posted about this product. This is an insult for you to say that the electronics are pre-installed and that I should check the product again. Do you really think that I can't notice if a motor or servos are in a plane? How about this time you carefully look at the picture that I attached of me pointing to the KIT version of the model you sent. This is Bull ****! Send me the products that I paid for! I have been patient long enough.

Reading your post makes me mad.I just escalated my dispute to a claim a few hours ago.I was going to wait for another response but now I'm glad I didn't.So now I'm going through paypal.All that time just for more disappointment they got my first and last order ever.If you ordered through paypal or with a credit card I suggest you file a claim.They have to know that there ordering system is f*#ked up. What was the purpose of sending in the weight if they still give you the shaft that's crazy.
I filed a claim through Paypal as well. Thanks for the heads up! I think the rest of my business will go to Horrizon Hobby or **********s. Horrizon's CS is amazing. Any problems at all and they take care of you with no questions asked. My brother was flying his F4F Wildcat from them for the 4th time and the elevator servo froze up....the sent him out a plane because of a bad servo! I wish they had more selection, because they are worth the extra money!
I'm going to order the power system for my j3 from h o b b y p a r t z. c o m they have a cheap power system that will work perfect plus the shipping is free. I'm just a little uneasy because I don't know squat about them but I'm doing research now. Any input ?
I bought a Thunder charger from them. Shipping was pretty quick, came as advertised and works great. Basically, they are the parts side of N i t r o p l a n e s. Same company. So far so good with them.

****-This is after I have already sent pictures, and actually sent a picture of me pointing to the box that is checked as a KIT. I submitted a request to Paypal for a full refund. Hobbyking denied it and asked for me to stop the complaint since customer service is investigating the issue.....so I escalated it to a claim and sent paypal copies of my emails back and forth and stated the reason for escalating it to a claim is because I have tried to work it out and can't come to a solution. I feel like I have been patient enough. I have been jumping through hoops since 2/26 when I first got the KITS at my house. RIDICULOUS!
Reece, did you get your power system from h o b b y p a r t z yet? I am assuming you got the $25-$27 combo with the 1200km motor and 3 servos? I was wondering how the power was.

Thank you for the quick replies. Cody the motor they have will be a little weak it is the 2306-1300 it will allso need a stick mount.it needs the 2410-1200 KV motor it will give ~1/3 more power.

03/25/2011 Hobbyking should just call the usa warehouse and tell them to open two or three of the boxes, if they are kits refund the difference. Because if it happen like this there is a mix up and future orders will be wrong also.

They want to refund me 21 bucks for all that hassle. That means I will have paid 32.13 for a kit not including the shipping. HK is dirty. I am going to keep my paypal dispute going
reece517, I understand your frustaion in this and thank you for your Info. the kit from Hong Kong ~ $29 the added cost is understandable (to me).You will have to do what is best for you.i hope it works out for you.
This is identical to what I went through with HK about my 1.5 meter Cessna 182.There was no hardware with it (which I ordered from P A R K F L Y E R S to avoid any more hassles). They had also sealed the ESC into the interior of the plane which resulted in having to cut out two of the windows to retrieve it. The customer service here is non-existant and they make you jump through so many hoops in hopes of frustrating you enough to make you just give up. Good luck everyone.I must however say all my orders for small parts were correct and really inexpensive but took forever to get here.
Same thing just happened to me. Got the kit not the ARF. I can not get anyone on the phone and the 24 hour on line suport is always closed, even thought they show the same five people loged on around the clock
Got a store credit back for the differance in price. I am running a e-flight 400 with a 20A ESC. I am using the stock prop but I need somthing bigger or with more pitch. I think I will upgrade to larger wheels so I can clear a 10x4.6
Derrick, thank you for your response. let us know if you find a better setup. I was sure the 30 was over kill but that is what i had i hand.the motor is a 2410 not 1410 hate them fat fingers.

I ordered this plane from China with no electronics.
It arrived in good condition in about 2 1/2 weeks to the USA. So far I am satisfied.....have not flown yet as it id too cold here.

Was sent the foam kit only by mistake but HobbyKing resolved the problem in a timely manner and with the the utmost cooperation. Since I told them I could use the foam kit and buy my own electronics, they simply gave mne store credit for the price difference rather than the hassle of sending back and forth the boxes. I was very happy to save them money for shipping and happy to save time when I would rather be flying than checking emails for RMA numbers. HobbyKing is the best!

Excelente avion , me tomo unas 4 horas para armalo por completo. Es bien liviano , pero vuela perfecto. Solo un poco dificultoso para el despegue por que no tiene la rueda trasera; pero muy facil de controlar en el aire . Ningun problema en el aterrisaje. Bonita experiencia en su primer dia de vuelo!!!!! 5 estrellas por este avioncito Hobby King... Buen trabajo HK.

Lo recibi en CA. en 5 dias. con un costo de $ 9.99 shiping. Muy bonito avion . Muy liviano y buen acabado. En mi primer vuelo use una bateria de 3s. 800amp . Mucho peso en la cola. Para poner una bateria mas grande se tiene que cortar el foam. Hice el corte atras del interior del lugar donde se pone la bateria he lo vole con una bateria de 3s, 1000 amp... y sigue con el peso en la cola. Lo que pienso hacer es abrir el foam para la parte de adelante de la caja y usar una bateria 3s, 1300amp. De todos modos lo he volado como 5 veces y se controla muy bien y es muy facil de aterrizar. Es muy buen trabajo y muy comodo enel precio....Excelente para aprendices. ***** Selos recomiendo.Thanks HK!!!!!!

I just flew this plane today. It was my first RC plane flight, as I have been flying helis until now. Went together real easy in a very short time. Stock power is more than adequate. We hand launched with a little over half throttle and cruised at half throttle. I can't compare it to other planes as this is all I have flown so far but I can say it's good for beginners as I flew it without crashing. With that said.. You need extra 3mm hex nuts to fasten the prop. It is not possible to mount the prop with the supplied hardware as the shaft turns when you try to install the locknut. I used 2 hex nuts behind the prop and 1 in front. Also, I had to cut the foam forward and mount the battery as far forward (squareish 1200mah 3s) as I could AND add some lead weights to the underside of the cowl to get the CG forward. This was per my club member's help. I had no idea anything was wrong. He said it was very tail heavy stock. This plane is great because it's small enough to fit in the car without taking it apart, easy to fly, and flies in light wind. When I tried to turn against the wind at low throttle, it had no problem if I gave it some throttle. Don't use dual rates or expo with this plane, it does not need it and you need the control authority.
