SBEC Just received and I get 3 or 4 beeps and throttle up. Nothing. When I plug in with throttle at full, I get the programming mode. I got zero instructions for this. Do they have it on site somewhere??? Any suggestions to get the prop rotating???
Am I correct in asuming this speed controler comes without a switch to turn off the power to the Rx with and that it lacks auto cut off when signal from Tx is lost?
to switch the power off to the Rx just remove the red wire from the servo type connector, this will disable the BEC
your failsafe must be set on your radio to program the ESC to cut power
their is no switch to turn the power on or off to the rx. once you plug the battery in the reciever is automatically powered up and when the battery is disconnected obviously the rx will have no power. as for the failsafe you have to set that up in the transmitter.
A UBEC (Universal Battery Eliminator Circuit) is generally a separate BEC unit, something that is not part of the ESC. An SBEC is (Switched Battery Eliminator Circuit) is a switched unit that can convert high voltages to lower voltages more efficiently than, say, an Linear BEC. All UBECs I've seen are switched.
when it tells u about modes for a esc wether u use them or not depends on its application. heli mode of course is for heli and the esc has some programable options available for heli's. as for the second question not sure.
Helicopter mode allows a soft start up, so that there is no burst of torque when the motor is started up. The slower startup of the heli modes prevents stripping any gears in the drive chain. Heli 1 ramps up motor to top speed in 5sec and Heli 2 ramps up motor to top speed in 15sec
currently no programming card is available for this series of esc. programming can only be done using the tx..good current supply to the rx really great for 50 size helis
I would buy a card as soon as they are avable.Email me when they in. lasablew*att****

1 thumbs up!
i have this on my hk500gt running turnigy typhoon 1800kv 11t pinion, gotec 9650's on all 4, gy48v gyro, 3000mah 6s1p 20c blue lipo. running 100pcnt flat throttle curve and sports flying everything comes down barely luke warm barely above outside temp!!!!! 10 flights no problems and a much much softer start than hobby king hk100a esc! "round" programming card worked perfectly on this
I'm glad I had to remove some of the heat shrink to fit the SPC cable. The BEC cable is run directly over the battery positive pins and the cable was already starting to be pierced. This would have resulted in battery positive connected to the Rx throttle signal. :(
I must say it looks well made, other than this. Hopefully it can be corrected in the future...
