Have you run a test with a APC 8-8 prop like they run in EF1 on 4s 2700 ma pack?

Anybody know what is the size of the wire used in this motor. and single or multiple wire is used. ?

could i use a 9x4.5 prop on this motor
 Ian 1 points
Yes if you are using a 4S battery. Tests I have run give 42A current draw with a thrust of 1835g at 14000 RPM.If using a 3S battery, then a 10X4.7 or a 10X6 would be suitable. 50A current draw with 1850g thrust at 10000 RPM

will this thing take 4s? i need a motor for my skywalker
 JetMech2002 7 points
Yes it will, but you need to have adequate cooling or else you will experience meltdown. These have been flown a lot in EF-1 pylon planes on 4s 2650's.
colgem  177 points - 9/17/2011

Can any HK representative let me know if this motor will be sent to the National Miniature Pylon Racing Association (NMPRA) for approval for the e-F1 racing class? It'd be a great new market for you, e-F1 races are popping up all over the world. Check in the e-F1 threads in the High Performance section of the RCGroups website for details. Or contact me and I'll submit the motors for you, on your behalf. However, I work for peanuts, not for free. Contact me for details please* this is great new market for you to get in to.
 colgem 177 points
Nevermind, I thought this was a new version. Why don't you develop a new version, and tailor it to corner the e-F1 marketplace? If it were the best on the market, you'd move more product than you could supply.
 JetMech2002 7 points
This motor is being looked at by the NMPRA as we speak. It is the same spec as the original that was submitted.

What is the best timing setting for this motor. using with a Turnigy Plush 60amp ESC. 10x6 prop.. ..
 magnusEl 1215 points
Motor has 14 magnetic poles, I would go with medium with a 10x6 prop.
Wilhelm  255 points - 7/10/2011

So what's wrong with HK? Again a 700W motor with 4mm shaft?? They cause vibrating unnecessarily.
Humboldt,Ca  360 points - 7/7/2011

Sk3? The windings look very neatly wound in the picture... Way neater than the old ones.

Motor performs well.
Which replacement shaft fits this motor?
The SK3 3542 one is 5mm shaft. Require 4mm shaft.

nice quality motor, I only wish it would have a thicker 5mm shaft like the 35-48 series.

Ich bin begeistert was man hier für nichtmal 22$ an Qualitaet bekommt.
Das ist der ideale Motor um Schaumwaffel-Warbirds ( um die 1m klasse) zu übermotorisieren.
