Despite having it's design origins in the 1950's, the 310 is a thoroughly modern looking 6 seat aircraft and this superb Durafly model is a great scale representation.
Made from ultra tough EPO foam, this Plug and Fly 310 is a fast and easy model to assemble, the pre-fitted motors and ESC's are already wired in parallel and all servo's are pre-installed and centered. The 1pc wing is removable for easy transport and also features nav lights, as does the tail. The Nav lights are also pre-installed and pre-wired so all you need to do is plug them in! The plug-in scale under-carriage is held in by a clever but secure bracket and when testing this model we found it to be very robust and able to handle the roughest of landing strips. There is lot's of scale detail on offer including the three blade props with matching spinners, detailed pilot & cockpit, ladder, exhaust stubs and so on.
As you can see from our flight test video footage, the Durafly 310 is a fantastic performer with plenty of power on tap, very smooth and predictable in flight and a synch to land. The battery hatch is perfect size for a 2200mAh 3s Lipoly, which gives excellent flight duration, and it's not likely you won't have one or two of those in your flightbox! Good looking, easy to assemble & fly and very robust, this is a brilliant scale model that would make an excellent choice for new pilots that have mastered a high wing trainer, but at the same time offers the more advanced pilot a quality, robust and superb flying sport-scale model that is brilliantly practical and guaranteed to give hours of fun!

Warning:
The screws for the bell motor base mounts are notoriously lose. Motor will wobble violently at full throttle. Tighten up before flight. This may be the root cause of many of the motor problems for this plane. I see nothing wrong with the quality of the parts for this plane.
They will work loose. if not locktited. Still the best flying model Ive had in 50 years of modeling.
I have 400 flights and have had to replace motors on mine.
Dr Doom,
Have you run this on 4S ? I put a 4S in the 310 and throttle her up 100%.
It seems the ESC can motor can handle it...barely. Static amp draw was 45 amps. I suspect in flight 100% throttle to be about 35 amps.....these ESC must be 25a burst. What are your thoughts ?
I'm using 4s 2200 packs, the plane flies great. I did throw a blade off of the left motor Sunday. also My first day out I lost the bearings in one motor. Replacement has lasted for 3 years. I just use 100% for short field takeoff.
it's possible to invert the rotation by changing the setting of ESC. Separe the cables of single ESC and power it. The function # 8 of ESC allows that. See the ESC instruction in FILES section. Hope to helped you..
My experience: Cessna arrived from Nederland warehouse.. assembled.. first problem: queue servos very charged and too little movements.. too much friction in the bowden and to fuselage openings.. oil and cutting some PE.. quite ok. Anyway, the rudder /front wheel servo seem to be too charged.. Maiden flight.. all ok. Looks really a nice plane. Second flight.. after 3? bad noise! Stop all engines and rapid glide landing.. minor damages : problem: Right motor front bearing destroyed!! Ordered new motor and queue servos( L2212 1650KV, plenty of power, and two metal gear 9019MG servos).. provisional repair of bearing with a new one non exactly diameter.. anyway, seems to runs ( for how long?).. Third flight.. before start, try movements.. right aileron doesn't move! Problem: broken gear on servo. Replaced with TG9e.. Now to the next flight.. with fear!
Moral: the quality of Durafly electrics seems to be really poor. Until now, replaced two motors, 4 servos, total $ 35...
Hi guys, this is my first real plane, and after the build, I noticed that my left motor is sticking a lot, and doesn't spin smoothly like my right motor. What should I check,or what do I need to do to get it to work right? By the way this thing is fresh out of the box... Thanks
After reading more about that, it does sound like my brake is engaged through the ESC. How would I reset it on this plane? I have no idea where to start. Thanks!
most speed controlers have as their first function, out of many , the ability to enable the brake on the "off "throttle position ,for gliding with folding prop. With throttle full on transmitter plug in battery to plane, wait 4 a couple of beeps or 10 seconds then throttle off . ESC should beep like regular telling how many cell.hang on tight 2 plane just in case ,if motors change up ,brake on 2 brake off, try it with one esc unplugged to get em workin together good luck.
Thanks for the help guys, but the reason I couldn't get it figured out is because the problem is with the engine. I switched engines and the problem follows the engines, not the ESC, so I'm certain that the motor is bad. But how bad? Can I repair it or should I just buy a couple of these: www.link
hi , thx 4 credit , those motors sound good as guys like them. i,m not like that . i would modify cowls , cut off mounts , epoxy one quarter in. mahogany plywood and install decent power. i got 40 planes and only 3 or 4 are stock.. if it wont go up agressively , u need more power.
My experience after maiden flight: I found same problem.. lost bearing of left motor in flight... quality of GC-1300 seems poor... bearing seems to be 6x4x3mm OD/W/ID. Rudder/forw wheel servo must be replaced with stronger metal gear min 2kg torque. Right cg is 35mm adding 15 gr weight rear.
Do not replace the GC-1300 with Turnigy DST 1200.. the shaft isn't long enough and the speed is lower.. best replacement,is Turnigy 2210-1400kv..more power, more speed.Unfortunately, this motor is only available in HK China, for now.
I would say yes. however, take care not to fly in too windy of conditions all planes do it but this one has a liitle more of a tendency to drop when banking into the wind. if your too close to the ground and are not expecting it it can put the plane into the ground.... Ive had it happen to me.
thats the wonderful thing with foam planes... as long as the crash isn't too bad they are easy to repair... just got my parts today, fixed it up and it's now ready to fly again!
I'm a big fan of HK and am a loyal customer, but I really want to know how this plane can be HK exclusive as dynam do this same plane GRAND CRUISER, I bought this plane from HK and when I opened the box there were a set of GRAND CRUISER decals, HK please explain? Regards Paul
Hi the hobbyking and dynam completely different in terms of durafly ranger... Grand cruiser is just the given name as p47, p51 etc, dynam one is bigger as 1.2m wing but the hobbyking one is 1.1m, in this range hobby king don't have dynam grand cruiser ... Hope now you got ur answer.... Have fun flying as its easy flying and landing plane...
i really love this model & im on my way to order it soon..! anyway i would suggest HOBBYKING to produce this CESSNA 310 in 1300~1500mm size of scale, because im sure lot of hobbyking customer will love & buy it more in that larger size. will it,scoot..?
Quando vinha da china,eu comprei e veio,me entregaram. Que bosta agora que tem aqui o deposito, dis que nao da pra entrega ,pacote muito grande.Brasileiros, tomemos no cu!hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Ola Adriano.. Tmb tive essa dificuldade mais tem um macete para conseguir comprar q acabei descobrindo..... Adicione o aviao desejado e adicione qualquer coisa barata tipo um servo.. Soh p constar.... E bingo!!!! Ai o sistema aceita!!!! Vai entender!!! Boas compras, abracos..
i need the replacement motor for this plane please let me know the part number. thanks one of the motor is very hard and now dont move i can repare it ?? or whats happend to my motor??
hi suryaaa.. u can also use this outrunner #SKU: 9031000008,TURNIGY DST 1200kv bell type outrunner motor as replacement, but im recommended u to buy 2 pcs to replace the standard unit motor.this turnigy dst 1200 kv will provide power very close to the standard unit as well, will aslo match to use your existing esc. & pls reward me some credits also,tqvm.. :)
I need to buy replacement motor shafts. HK does not carry them. Does anyone know where I can find long threaded shafts that fit the 310 motors?
Thankss
If you or anyone else is looking for spare parts for this plane they are in stock now,if you look just under the price you can see three little boxes, they say Batt,Acc and Spare just click on the spares box and you can see all the spares HK sell. :-)
Hey guys. A little problem turned up on my last flight. The STBD motor droped out in flight and the rudder isnt big enough to counter act the torque. I did a dead stick landing. the motor kept re arming itself run to 1/4 throttle, then shut down.. The speedie looked like it was faulty but as I pulled the tape hidding the wiring in the wing I found the battery power lead going the the speedie has a JT plug mid wing and it had come loose. the wiring is a bit tight so i guess with a few hard landings it will come out. I checked the other side and it was working loose as well... guys check you plugs in the wing, before you spiral into the ground.
My 310 arrived a few days ago. I put it together and notiecd the srews holding the motors mounts in place were lose. The motor vibrated heavily at full throttle until I tightened the screwes. Now both motors are quiet. This plane drops a lot during turns and comes in much faster than expected. Could use a little more power too. But overall this plane is a good fliery. Stable and decent power if little to no wind. Need at least 50 feet for takeoff. Installed AMP2.5 and 4S battery and 3DR telemtry. Full throttle was 45 amps staic at 4S. These ESC must be the Hobbyking 20a with 25a burst, not the 18/20a with 20a brust. I throttle up the plane 100% multiple times to 45a and no ESC failure. Significant incrase in power. No probablems noticed with motors. No excessive heat or noise. Seem these motors can handle 4S. the 2x20a ESC are probably on the ragged edge. Plan to upgrade to 30a esc. Will be gentle on throttle until then. This plane works great with APM2.5. You can make it fully autonomous.
For sure: Durafly 310 1100mm replacement Propeller (1pr) (ID# 9142000012) and I think this one is same but single: Replacement 3-Blade Propeller (7x6) (ID# H-3BP-7x6) - looks similar, a bit more expensive, but it is not at backorder now
the replacment set has the needed counter rotating prop. but with a little modification you can
change the rotating direction of the second engine
and you will not have any bad influance in flying
- have done it after breaking mine when belly
landing this bird.
then you also can use a 2-blade 7x6 and you will
not have any loss of performance - i think you
will get a little more topspeed ...
have done it for belly landing and added some plastic runners to glide on ...
looks much more better in the sky without the
gear.
Hallo all, The model is nice and I plan to buy it soon. One thing I wish to do with the model some time in future is to install retractable gears. Does anybody know what are the steps how to modify models these way? I guess I will need to replace reciever, and find appropriate gear type... Can anybody advice what to start with?
if you like a 310 with retracts take the dynam grand cruiser v2 - there are retracts preinstalled ... its has more wingspan then the durafly (1280 : 1100) but
looks equal - i have both of them .. (but v1 of the dynam)
The axn motors need a 5x5 or 6x4 two blade prop. It wouldn't look very authentic sitting on the ground and wouldn't sound very authentic in the air but if you don't mind that then it would be a rocket with a pair of them and I can only imagine the awesome howl of a pair of them screaming away in tandem at full throttle .
can anyone help got my 310 durafly, two weeks back and has been an headach from start miss ing bits broken bits that wer glued back together musta been at factory, and now i find when motors where working that one runs faster than other and if in low throttle one is steady and other works intermitantly have tryd to reset esc thinking brake my be on via the sticks, but seems to make no diff pse pse pse someone help wish i never had baught this one from hk i also got a se5a plane to same thing re parts but hk didnt want to know, also scott said he would look into and never hear from him, i also put my points on a review, which took it from a 5 crown to a 3 next few days it was back up to 5 ummmm didnt think hk would falsafy this sort of thing so put it back on help pse
Have this plane for month in my project queue - now i bilt it, but i lost the manual - so i don't know anything about the correct CG ... may some one of you take a look into his manual and state the correct cg-value? thanks a lot ...
thats round the value i will get with the 1/3
rule. before doing my modifications on the plane
i tried to see were the cg will be if i do not
change anything - with a 3s 2200 185g into the
akku-box the cg will be at 18mm from leading
edge! a 'little' bit nose-heavy ...
After my modifications the cg is at 35mm.
the 1/3 rule value: 55mm
the 35mm cg is not bad - trimmed in normal flight,
it takes only a very little bit down on inverted.
I confirm that 35mm is an acceptable value for good flights. I obteined that by adding a 15gr weight under rear fuselage and pushing back 2 cm the 2200ma 30C battery 185 gr.
boght this plane for a bday present in november last year and the servo horns( the parts that go onto the wing and rudder and elevator that the survo chord goes onto did not fit and now i cant fly my plane at all i have had it for 4 mnths now and it has never left the ground i am verry upset with the quailty of the parts on this plane but overall a nice looking plane hopefully they wil send me some new 1s matt
FORGET the so-called instruction manual....About the only thing its good for is location C o G...Beyond that & once you have the C o G BIN IT !
While running the nav lights is a nice scale touch you will need to contend with a spaghetti of wires and the ch2 4 x Y-plug connects all these Elevator.
The rest of the kit goes together pretty quick once this is sorted. it is very much a well detailed little bird with moulded panel lines & all the little plastic moulded scale 'extra's' inspred me to paint the exhaust pipes bronze and even glue a 1" x 4" strip of 400 grit along the starboard inboard section of wing between the cabin & engine nacelle as well as for step-ladder as a kinda non-slip grip like the real plane has, that really completes the kit. A small word of caution is to check all the engine mounting bolts as mine were all loose !
Maiden tomorrow and from what I've read here and how it sits on C o G I'm feeling quietly confident it should be a nice little flyer.
Nice work HK !!

I bought this Cessna, 3 weeks ago and arrived last week, very easy to assemble, about 2 h. I flew my plane this saturday, I have to put some little weight at the front, and really flies really gentle. A friend of mine, Manuel Lewinsohn, helped me to trimm and set the radio (Turnigy).Enouhg power at 2200 m. above sea level in Mexico city. I really recommend it.

Mi è arrivato in tre settimane !! THANKS HK : )

i love this aeroplane. its beautiful, brilliantly built and easy to assemble. we assembled it in less than 2 hours. It flies extremely well and has an incredible roll rate and is generally fantastic to fly. For scale flying I would recommend adding a little bit of exponential on the ailerons. one question : can anyone perhaps advise where i can get replacement propellers? i broke one landing on a grass field.
Does HK stock replacement props for the Cessna 310?
