Turnigy Aerodrive SK3 - 2122-2100kv Brushless Outrunner Motor

Turnigy SK3 Motors are the next leap forward in motor quality and design. We instructed the engineers to source the best quality magnets, bearings and materials available to them and develop a motor that would not only rival, but surpass the quality of many leading motor manufactures on the market today.

The result is an efficient, high caliber motor using quality double shielded bearings, sintered Neodymium magnets and a string wound stator ensuring an accurate and consistent winding each and every time.

The Turnigy SK3 motors are suited to modelers who are seeking a quality brushless motor without compromise.

Would theese motors be good for a 600 gram acrobatic quad with 3cell battery and 5" props?
rcprof  3 points - 3/29/2013

it is using a prop saver, so no shaft needed :)
tommcgarry  12 points - 3/25/2013

This is probly a dumb question, but where is the shaft that you attach the propeller?

What is your amp draw?
Alex  26 points - 12/26/2012

I got one of these motors for my turnigy bonsai, with a turnigy 12 amp esc, the motor is very stiff and hard to spin, when i give throttle the motor will try to spin but when I get to about 1/3 to 1/4 throttle on a 3 cell it will spin. it there a problem with the motor or will I become easier to spin once i use it a bit more?
thanks in advance

Is this motor suitable for 330 or 245 quadcopter running 3S battery?
mskunt  1 points - 5/25/2012

hi, I bought one of this motor. I get it today. is there anybody knows about thrust of this ?
 Alex 26 points
I am using a 3 cell and 4.75 x 4.75 prop and I think i am getting around 600 grams of thrust. I have no accurate way to measure thrustbut i think this is right, on my 200 gram plane It will go verticle rather fast and won't stall

And I want to know thrust of this motor too. I need 600 gramms on 3S with 8inch and smaller props. Somebody test it pleeeease :) Thank you.
auto5  95 points - 2/9/2012

How much thrust can i get from this with a 6x4 prop or a 6x5 prop? I need a minimum 650g of thrust and the longest prop length i can have is 6inch.

This one sweet little motor! Nice power output. Fairly efficient. Using a 7x5 prop on a 7.4 460 mah lipo and running it pretty hard, i am seeing roughly eight minutes of flight time. Haven't ran any test data yet. When i get some more flight time on the motor i will post more definitive data. I swapped out my turnigy park 250 for this motor looking for a little extra punch. Definitely packs a punch. Outstanding quality and it looks nice.

this motor is sweeeeeeet!!!!!!! i am running two of these little guys on a 3s lipo pack "speedy park set up" on my home built 40 inch flying wing. i ran them through a 12 hk speed controle, perfect match right out of the box cool after 5min hard flight. set up that worked best for me on 3s (no 2s lipo tests) 1300 3s nano tec lipo pack 45-90 c 2x12a hk esc 2x SK3 2200kv motors 2x (4.75x4.75) apc props ps using a y splitter on pwm(servo coneter) to lik esc works fin same with battery esc wires
