Which tools are required for its maintenance & repair?
francky1606  2 points - 5/20/2013

Hi friends !!! Does anyone knows how to program the ESC on the car? I think it's possible to program this esc. Thanks in advance !!!
 meeki 292 points
Some has stated elsewhere that Hobbyking have confirmed that this ESC is NOT programmable.

well i bought another dmg16 servo in hopes that its not going to fail on me any tips of what to check before i get it all back together i use an alum servo arm that couldent be the problem you think ???? thnaks
 meeki 292 points
Just make sure that the steering moves freely before you put in the servo. I had problems with my steering when I tightened up the screws that hold the Front C Bracket on...tighten them up and it locked the steering.....under tighten them and the screws fall out. I had to shorten the screws and threadlock them in. An aluminium servo horn shouldn't cause any more problems than a plastic one, it may also pay to check your servo saver is working correctly.

what is the difference between this and the other rally car?
 meeki 292 points
You should be able to pick a number of differences from the pictures and descriptions. This has oil filled shocks and not just springy things called shocks, metal gear diffs instead of plastic ones, sway bars, and feels more solid. They are based on two totally different chassis with this one being "in my opinion" the better one. Its not without its faults but its worth the extra.

Hi all, im very new to R/C car and would like to get this as my very 1st one. But i have some question before jumping to buy this. 1) What kind of battery should i use? How many do i need? If LiPO, do i need the bag? 2) Kindly recommend a good/reasonable charger? 3) Can i use this Hobby King GT-2 2.4Ghz 2Ch Tx & Rx on this car? If not, which one? Hope to hear from the expert soon. Thanks in advance. Cheers.
 Wolo61 26 points
1)In the beginning, you should use 2S lipo, then it's better to control. Its standing under the car ( 1700mah 2s lipo ). 2 Batteries are enough. Bag is recommend for security. 2)this one is good : Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 6A Balancer/Charger w/ accessories 3) yes it works perfectly.

Dear Ahmad, Wolo61 is absolutely right. I've got this as my 1st rc car few days ago with recommended battery after comparing with other rally car. Its better and as Wolo61 said go for 2s & learn to control, this car is very powerful so be careful when using full throttle. I'm using Accucel-6 for charging successfully. Its good to have lipo bags around, for safety, in case a battery gets damaged or somehow goes bad.
 Wolo61 26 points
You shouldn't drive where you could hit objects, already needed enough spare parts *) And check all screws before driving, often they're not tight enough.

i found what helps me when it comes to loose plastic parts on this is to use teflon plumbers tape just enuf to go around once i had problems with the steeering arm

What is the size of the nut in the wheel? I need to find an appropriate tool to remove the wheels.

any ideas of why or just luck of the draw it is as strong or stronger then the stock one i just dont get how it ****ped out already and all of the reviews that i have read on here about it were good so i just need some advice thanks
 Rexy03 1061 points
you must have had bad luck with it, mine has lasted a long time in this car
 Reece 7 points
Try the HK15148B, I find it really good for a $4 replacement.
shogetz  3 points - 5/18/2013

hey just got my new d mg-16 metal gear servo in and i lasted about 2 min till i steered itself to the left and burned up great deal huh
 Reece 7 points
Try the HK15148B Digital Servo, it sounds like you may have a bad servo or your servo is trying to rotate more than it can. On your transmitter turn down your travel adjust a little.
Leo72  6 points - 5/18/2013

When I reverse the car turns slightly to left, forward drive is ok, how to solve this? This is my first rc car & there's so less in the manual. Any tips & suggestions for pre-drive checks & settings are welcome :)
 Reece 7 points
Yeah, my ones the exact same. It's probably something to do with the torque being transferred to the ground through the diff.

what heat sink with fan will fit on this car??
 Rexy03 1061 points
E-Flite EFLM1912 Park 400 Inrunner Motor Heatsink 20x20

It's got awful startup code, so a short blip of the throttle will run until it decides it's running, even if you've already let go. First thing I'm going to do is swap for a less ****py esc.
shogetz  3 points - 5/16/2013

hey i have the solve to the front sway bar back plate not fitting all you need is a good hobby knife the back plate and about 5 min of time use the plate to get you outline and then just carve away till it fits flush then mount it to the fr diff with two screws one on top and the other on the opposing side on the bottom then put the ***per on and put the other 2 screws in and you done i have posted 2 pics in my al*** of what mine looks like done. give it a try its better then not using it at all ya know
DanRA  1 points - 5/14/2013

What would be a good ESC for this? Mine has started to go all wacky. Thanks
 meeki 292 points
This is most likely the best option, item : HK-30A.
shogetz  3 points - 5/13/2013

hey i have another tidbit of info i use this car for off road racing and i was thinking that the sway bars that are on it were more for driving it on road so i went ahead and pulled them off and gave it a shot off road and the results were just jaw dropping its like a different car its full independent suspension now and it's performance i well worth the few min's of time that it takes to remove them give it a try and let me know what you all think thanks

Has anyone upgraded to *sensored* brushless motor ESC? Am I correct that sensored systems enable you to go slowly more smoothly?
shogetz  3 points - 5/11/2013

where can i find a different pinion gear for this to change the top speed ?
 kaon01 96 points
I don't have an answer, but the shaft is 2.3mm. I might like to get a smaller pinion, so that it can go slower, for indoor use with my toddler.
 shogetz 3 points
i hear you there on the toddler my little girl thinks its the best thing in the world. i also found that if you get the drift wheels that gives you what you need to use 1/10 wheels and there are great buys on ebay it slowed mine down a bit but it also robbed my of torque and i built a rally co**** and me and my friends race on it and i can see the power loss so i would like to find something that would help get it back
shogetz  3 points - 5/9/2013

one more thing that i would do that's real easy is take a soda bottle and cut it to fit under the diffs here is a pic of that it keeps dirt and stuff out and gives you the chance to lube it up just when you go to put it on a thin layer of rtv will seal it up well check my pics i cant get it to upload here
shogetz  3 points - 5/9/2013

hey judrst to put it out there i bought the drift kit work's very well but dont use it off road it breaks and you end up like i did and lost a drive shaft
Sebastian  3 points - 5/8/2013

i need a new Body for this Car. Mine smelted in the real Car because the Heat What Body i can Buy
 shogetz 3 points
any of the traxxas bodys for the rally car they have will fit if you look at my pics i have the boss mustang body on mine all that you need to do to make it fit is drill new body mount holes that's all
 shogetz 3 points
one very important thing that i forgot to tell you was that you have to switch the rear bearing holder from side to side right to left , left to right if not then the wheel base will be to short and the rear tires will rub the body
Reece  7 points - 5/8/2013

*Pauline, you should have no problem running that battery provided it fits.

Hi guys just bought this awesome car just want to know if you are able to run a 1350mah 3cell help would be grately apreciated
 Amaury 225 points
Yes but the motor and esc Will become Hot quickly
 shogetz 3 points
****
 shogetz 3 points
i don't know where my message went but if you look on ebay search for E-flight park 400 heat sink i bought 2 and you also need Thermal Grease Paste i was able to pick up 2 tubes for $2.00 and thats more then i will ever use but it brought my motor temp down to the point of being able to touch it after a hard 10 min run and as far as the esc i just bought a 20mm 5v computer fan and wired it to its own on/off switch and i use a 1200mHa lipo to power it and i have not had any problems with over heating using a 3c batt give that stuff a look and see what you think i spent about $15.00 on everything
 Amaury 225 points
For the power of your fan, you should use the BEC. Way more simple!
 shogetz 3 points
what is a BEC ?
 Amaury 225 points
It is the energy of the receiver, this wich is use for the servo motor! You put a servo plug on your fan and you plug directly into your receiver. The current of a bec is usally 5V 2A
 shogetz 3 points
thanks thats a good idea i will have to try that i have an open port when i am not using it to power my light kit that i use when i drift with it but that's only when i have the mustang body on but good idea thanks

Hey guys, I saw a photo in the files section of the car with 1/10 scale wheels on it. Do you need to make any modifications for it to work?
 Rexy03 1061 points
You will need the 12mm hex hubs which are available with the drift wheel kit for this car then you can fit any 1/10th wheels, the front ***per and body will need trimming to fit the bigger wheels

Kaufempfehlung meinerseits.

This is a nice little car! Very good quality. The motor runs very well on 2S. Im using ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 2S1P 20C. 3S is overkill. The drivetrain and the driveshafts looks really sturdy. The shocks are also pretty good. Buy some extra suspension arms and rear bearing holders. Alot of items are backordered lets hope HK fills up the stock soon. Perfect for indoor areas where you can make rally/drift tracks and i cant wait to try it outdoor when all snow is gone.
