I have had the same problem before. But i didnt buy mine from HK. I tried so many different ways to bind it to my tx and it still wouldnt bind. The problem is the rx is faulty. You will need to contact HK in regards of faulty products and see if you can get it replaced for new.
I have four pcs in my aircrafts and I don't have problem with binding these receivers with futaba TX . I bind this rx with 6ex 7c and 8fg transmitters and no problem. You must have one faulty piece. Contact Hk RMA...
This Rx will not work when using Turnigy 3317M servos, Mystery 30 amp ESC & Futaba 7C Tx - works fine with GWS pico servos, Futaba 3003 & 4 servos, works only alternately with HXT 900 servos. I tried 2 different bran new receivers - both "bound" fine - motor worked correctly, but when the Turnigy servo(s) were plugged in, the red LED flashed, the motor started, stopped, started, stopped, etc. I tried different Turnigy servos - same thing happened, no matter what I did.
Update - Futaba 6106 does the same thing when using the 3317M (metal gears) servos but works fine with Turnigy 3317C (plastic gears) - I have to assume the TFR6 might work ok with the 3317C's. My Futaba 617 Rx's work fine with the 3317M's.
Latest update - using the Futaba 6106 Rx's, I finally changed ESC to a 36 amp Castle - no more problem, no matter what combination I used. Evidently, the Mystery ESC's don't supply enough amps to drive the Turnigy servos. I have to assume there wan nothing wrong with the Frsky Rx's after all
sidd232 is your radio a 10cap with a futaba module?
If it is have a look on the back of the module for two dip switches, one is for area (do not touch this one) and one is for channels (the one we had was 7 or 8 ch your may be different) but try changing the channel switch.
p.s. This was a fix for the orange receivers not sure if the frsky ones are the same.
i bought several of this rx's to be used with my futaba 10ch radio, they bind perfect and everything works good except for the 5th channel that activates the retracts. i have tried everything with no success. Has anyone experienced same issue?, any advices?
There is nothing wrong with receiver. You have to programe your Radio so you can use 5th channel for retracts. Every radio software is diferent so it is hard to tell how to programe it. On my radio is very simple (T8FGS). I just have to assign swich I choose to use for retracts on 5th channel, and than tell it in which position activates retracts.
yes i know, the thing is that if i plug my original futaba receiver the retracts will work perfect but when in switch to this receiver they just won't work.
Try reversing 5th channel, or change swich status. when it's OFF, progrme it on ON, and when it's ON programe it on OFF.
Also you cat try to put your retracts on 6th or 7th channel if they are free, or just to test if retracts work on any of those channels.
Guillermo please try to write in english, not everybody speaks spanish....
It doesn't have to be written perfect, but most of the people understand english, and it would be easier to solve the problem that sidd232, or anybody else has...
Im sure you have some clever suggestions, but they're worthless if they're written in spanish, for most of the people.
Thanks Matej but don't worry i speak english , spanish french and others, now to guillermo: No he podido solucionar el problema y dado a eso no he usado este receptor aun pues quiza esta defectuoso, estoy tratando de contactar con hk pero como te imaginaras me haran regresar el paquete y el envio desde canada me sale mas caro que comprar 2 rx nuevos, entonces creo que mejor lo dejo asi, cualquier cosa te hago saber, gracias.
Let's see now, I'm with a translator online. Generally, these problems are passed when the radio is linqueada in 7ch, test doing work in 10 ch radio, you have everything back but in 10ch, while it may be of 7ch.
Guillermo thank you for your effort, writing in english.
If I understand, you aresaying that there is difference betwen 7 ch mode and 8 or multichannel mode. It is worth a try. I definetly think that this is just a programming issue on radio.
Sidd232, have you had any luck making your retracts work? All other controls connected to this receiver work?
Yes, I have T8FG S and I have 5 or 6 of those receivers and all of them work flawlessly.
As said nuber of times in posts below: this receiver WILL WORK WITH ANY FUTABA THAT HAS FASST SYSTEM!
My noobness reached a whole new level... but still this product was in the Frsky ACCST menu, and I thought it was ALSO compatible with FASST.
Darn... I need a new receiver.
These mistakes are normal, do not worry. You can still sell this Rx.
Look for Rx compatible with your TX in "Radios & Receivers" and "2.4Ghz Turnigy." Good luck
As said below, you turn on TX, hold button on RX and swich on RX. In about a second the RX should bind with TX.
But I had also problems and figured out tat your TX should be set on 7 ch mode! (check your saettings)
Otherwise it wont bind!
(I have T8FG, so I dont know if it is same setting)
Kmichu si right... Sorry mate, you boght the wrong receiver. T6j has FHSS system, and it wont work with FASST receiver.
First thing I checked before I replied you is if your TX has FASST system. I don't know what i was checking, I just remember that I saw T6J and FASST written in one sentence.
Hi, thanks a lot. I thought so this was the case. Actually a friend gave me this receiver. Anyways i'll have to look for another one. But us it possible to make it work with any other tx apart from futaba.
I would suggest that HK brings to local waresouses heavier products, becouse i can get two of these receivers for four bucks (shipping is 4 bucks), and customs don't even know how much are worth, so i get them directly to my home.
But it is true that it takes almost a month that they arrive...
Did you follow the manual for the correct binding process? Switch on your transmitter, then hold the binding button on the receiver and switch it on, it should bind to your transmitter within only a few seconds.
Hold binding button on transmitter, switch on the transmitter.
Then hold the binding button on the receiver and switch it on.
(This is how I had to do it)
while there is no exact definition of full range, this labelled as 1.5km or almost a mile range. I flew 20cc gasser with this with the plane almost out of sight and still worked well.
I never encountered signal loss up to now even on my gasoline airplane which is notoriously famous for high interference, but I set the f/s on the rx side, I did as described in the manual and tested it by turning off the TX.
I have eight of these receivers. I use them in 7 channel mode with my 8FG Super. I set fail safe on the receiver and not the transmitter. Move the sticks in any desired position and push the bind button for a split second and your fail safe is set. It is that easy. So far so good I have not had any problems.
TFR6 supports failsafe function for all channels. Follow the steps below to set failsafe on TFR6:
1) Bind the receiver first, and disable failsafe on the transmitter side*
2) Set all transmitter controls to the desired failsafe position*
3) Press briefly the F/S button of the receiver, the GREEN LED of the receiver will flash twice, indicating the failsafe is set up successfully.
If you do not need the failsafe function any more, just re-bind the receiver to set default failsafe mode.
Greenfuelboy, If the TX fails and failsafe sets the control surfaces to your trimmed positions, how do you get the plane down without it flying away until it runs out of fuel or battery? I may not understand how failsafe really works.
You can set the fail safe to your desired position. It does not have to be in the netural trimmed setting. You should set the fail safe to lower the throttle, or even kill the engine if you loose the radio. I have my planes fly in a slow circle at a slight decent if the radio is turned off. You can test it in flight to get it where you want. It takes a second for the receiver to catch up when power the radio back on. Make sure the plane is high enough to recover if you have too much adjustment on one of the settings.
You will need to disable the fail safe on your 8FG transmitter. Then hold the sticks on your radio in the desired position and have some one push the bind button. This will set the fail safe. You can read the post above ART. I posted it and has good information.
Thanks swami but mine is a 2.4 faast, so am I right in saying the PCM and ppm is reference to the analogue version of the 6ex.
I have checked my trans manual I can not find an reference to switching off the required parameters. This receiver is or my trex 500.

Hi all
Just received my frisky TFR6 receiver and think I have a rubbish one, I am unable to bind this receiver to my future 6 ex.
I have followed the binding process more than 10 times, all that happens is the red light flashes on and off with the green led faintly light up,, I have held the f/s button down for more than 15 seconds while powering up the receiver and nothing happens other than the dreaded flashing red led.
if its no good, it will cost more to send back to h/k than it Did to order it. why is it the hobby king stock for the UK is rubbish, if they had this item in stock here I could hand delivery it back.
Any one have any ideas as to what I can try
Mark
They will not bind with the receiver power turned on first. Just plug every thing in make sure the receiver switch is turned off. Then turn on the transmitter push the bind button on the receiver and turn the switch for the receiver on. It will take a second once you let go of the bind button you should be bound. I bound all of mine on the work bench when I bought them. I think there was a green light once bound but I can not remember. I hope I have helped.
Greenfuelboy, Your bind procedure worked perfect for me. I have a Futaba 6ex 2.8ghz fasst tx. Just make sure the esc is plugged into position three to drive the motor.
Now you have it bound if you want to use fail safe you can have a buddy hold the sticks in the desired position and push the bind button. The fail safe should turn on. All you need to do is turn the transmitter off to see if it worked. The servos should go to the desired position when powering off the transmitter. To disable fail safe just repeat the bind process.
Have been flying this receiver about a year now with no problems. Yesterday wile in air i notice that in some phases i lose control either from servos or motor. Thought it was the esc, but in ground testing i notice that every time i played up and down the motor stick , the red light on receiver changed to rend and green. It was like it lost the signal for a second and then ok.. after rebinding it again , it worked ok. Does any one ever had same problem?
Yes.
I had one receiver that developed this kind of problems after about a month. Within a few days, it stopped binding altogether. Do NOT use this receiver any more.
Voltage level to receiver may be dropping too low in 'some phases'. Buy HK voltage boost capacitor (just like bass boost on car stereo) and install it in your receiver.
Even on a BEC set to 6V this may happen, if your current consumption is to high, voltage will drop for lets say a millisecond, which is enough to have a so called brown out. This receiver will work down to 3,5V ( so better than some futaba ones ) but below, you have a brown out. I use 6 of this receivers for 2 years now with absolutely no problem at all. It is very good. So you should redesign your power supply. If you use ESC-inbuild BEC, I now whats wrong. Never do this, they are all ****. Allways use a good external bec with a second battery, notor from the motor battery, except on small park flyers or gliders with to small standart servo. All other srtuff should be good powered. I m sure, that your BEC is not able to power your system in all situations, so do not make the receiver responsible for what happened in your case.
You are potentially right, especially if you have many (more than 3) servos, especially digital ones which have a high stall current. However, what Vasilis describes happened to me and was then tested with one servo attached to the Rx. Once the intermittency starts, the receiver is best not used again. In my case, the Rx - in the end - refused to rebind no matter WHAT was done.
Received today with very little wait. Just to let you all know it bound instantly to my Futaba 7C 2.4 Faast. This will be going in my Hot Point for a little fun and relaxed flying.
Yes I did, just turned on the transmitter and the added power to the rec while pressing the bind button and in around a second it was done. 3 flights now and loving this little jewel.
all/any port connect to the power. if you use all 7 channels you can use Y cable, pick any channel for example throttle/channel 3. Y cable 1 female goes to throttle servo, another female connect to the BEC/power, and the male connect to the receiver
I give you a little video, the amazing thing is, i turn off the glider, and turn on after 5 or 6 seg..and the bind it´*s automatic..amazing price, and very good option..i recomended that´*s rxs, for Futaba radios...7c-14c inclusive..

1 thumbs up!
Confirmed to be working with Futaba 6EX, binds in seconds and works perfect. Make sure you connect the ESC with bec correctly. (if you reverse the BEC (servo) plug, the unit will not work/bind but the LED lights up so you think you are good but you got it plugged in wrongly :)

Really a great receiver, I am very impressed, links perfectly to 7, MULT and MULT2, very good reach.
Maybe he misses a version with horizontal pins
Realmente un excelente receptor, enlaza perfectamente en 7, MULT y MULT2, muy buen alcance.
Tal vez se echa de menos una versión con los pines horizontales
Good value for the prize, for me better than orange ones.

Maybe some cheaper plastic use than on 617 which is original and I think this is copy of it.
<Binded in 5 sec. Easy and solid link. For 22$??

Got two of these gems last week. Still to maiden on my swanky Glider (Glider was bad so couldn't fly last week). This Rx is substantially smaller than 617F and almost size/weight of 6106H Rx. I am going to replace the Original Futaba Rx from my Funjet and use these. I already have Orange FASST Rx from HK and they are Rock Solid. Great job HK for selling these at almost half the price elsewhere!!!
