USA warehouse now open. Our USA warehouse is now open! Low cost shipping and an ever growing variety make ordering from the US warehouse even better value!
Looking for the perfect trainer? or an in-expensive FPV platform? Maybe you are a club pilot looking for something you can just pull out of the car and fly on one of those lazy Sunday afternoons? The Hobbyking Bixler ticks all of these boxes and more!
Stop Press!!
Allow us to introduce the Bixler V1.1 with a myriad of improvements over the original Bixler. Our v1.1 features relocated elevator and rudder servos, now closer to the tail and accessible via a magnetic hatch on the underside of the fuselage. Why? you may ask - This allows much more usable space inside the front section of the fuselage, something that FPV'ers are going to thank us for! We have also updated the included hardware to include better quality components, such as the new 4 bolt control horns on all surfaces. We also include 2 different propellers, one for high speed and the other for carrying heavier payloads. You - our customers spoke, we listened! The end result is the Bixler V1.1!
Whatever you are looking for, the Bixler has it covered, also included is a color instruction booklet, this version being 'kit only' the manual acts as a guide to the installation of your own choice of equipment.
This is probably my next buy, any recommendations for a great motor, details are calling for a 2620-1900kv Brushless Outrunner, can't seem to find one in either Int. or USA warehouse. Thanks in advance for your reply.
I've never been disappointed with anything I've gotten from HK .... HOWEVER !!!!! It's been 6 days since my order and it still hasn't shipped...??? The Bixler was "in stock" when I ordered and it still shows "In stock" in the USA warehouse, so why hasn't it shipped yet?? I'm in the USA and it's only coming from Washington ... so explain again why the shipping is so slow?? This my 3rd order from HK and every time it has taken roughly 5 to 6 days before it actually shipped. I promise it will be the last.
That's odd I have purchased twice in the last thirty days and both orders shipped within a week, Int Warehouse via Swiss Postal took 15 days from Order to Doorstep. My next order from WA, took roughly 5 days from Order to doorstep (that includes a weekend). **Remember, sometimes paypal and, or your credit card doesn't always clear right away, so they might be waiting for funds to clear. Check your Warehouse status and see where you are at in the process, or better yet try Cust Service on Chat or Call them on Monday to find out what's up.
Unfortunately, that's totally normal for the US warehouse in my experience. I don't know why. My last 2 orders from the US have sat in the warehouse for 2 weeks before they were shipped, and all items were in stock. When you add the actual shipping transit time, it's been 3 weeks from payment to receipt. Stuff shipped from China usually only takes 3-4 weeks, so you're not saving much time by ordering locally.
rocorama: I received an verification of payment email roughly 5 minutes after I bought it so that excuse just doesn't fly. I agree with Chubbs, HK is always slow with shipping.
This plane doesn't need flaps IMO. It already slows down to about 12 MPH to land. The flaps on the Bixler 2 seem like a waste to me. Even loaded up with FPV gear and a 4000 MAh battery it's easy to hand-launch and land on grass.
well ive planted mine twice due to tip stalls. a little extra lift would be great. a bit more speed would probably be easier, but i tend to do alot of floating around, and a bit too low. that's my main problem hence the tip stalls.
I agree with you completely! Extra lift is always a good thing to have available. Do a google search for
Bixler ~ Miracle on the Bay to see what I mean.

You can just throw out the Y-cable for the ailerons, connect them separately (channels 1 and 6 let's say) and program flaperons. They work like a charm!
I have programmed flaperons, and that is an excellent option. However, I haven't figured out how to do that with the orange 3 axis stabilizer. I'm leaning toward the flaperons setup and sending the stabilizer back to the parts box.
Is it possible to use a 2200mah battery with the Bixler 1.1? Will it affect the CG by much if i do? because i have a bunch of 2200mah batteries and no 1300mah's.
Yes. There is a lot of room inside. I've used a 2200MAh battery and a GoPro on one and just added a bit of stick-on weight at the tail.
For my FPV bixler, I moved the elevator and rudder servos to the tail and put the receiver etc back where they were originally so I could put a 4000 MAh battery right under the wing.
I have two Bixlers. I haven't flown either one because they do not come with enough screws to adequately install the servo horns to the control surfaces. They require 4 screws for each horn, but they send you 2 for each horn. They should pack 16 screws, but only send 8. This happened with my Bixler Kit and with the Bixler RTF. Now they want photos of all the packing material. What a joke. Also, the wings are attached with two long bolts. One of them is nowhere near the length needed to attach the wing. If anyone has received 16 screws, please let me know. If you received extra screws, then you got mine.
That's fairly common practice, even though I think they should include 4. I've got a Super Sky Surfer with a wingspan of almost 8', and the manufacturer made a big issue of it only needing 3 screws. The older Bixlers didn't have screws, just a bit of glue. Use glue and the two screws placed diagonally, and you'll rip off your aileron before the horn attachment fails.
You will need a reasonably high KV motor for this as you need to swing a 6x4 prop or smaller, take a look at the NTM28-36 1800KV or for even more power the NTM28-26 2200KV,you can also use the Turnigy D2826-6 2200KV.
Does not here is what you need.
Required:
4 Channel Radio (Tx/Rx)
1300mAh 3s Lipoly Battery
2620 Brushless Outrunner (Required)
20A ESC w/BEC (Required)
4 x 9g Servo (Required)
Yes it does say!!!! Required: 4 Channel Radio (Tx/Rx), 1300mAh 3s Lipoly Battery, 2620 Brushless Outrunner (Required), 20A ESC w/BEC (Required), 4 x 9g Servo (Required). And you will have a whole lot of fun!
edgar, as NtHK noted, this is the kit version, which is probably your best bet as HK tends to supply sub-standard (imo) parts with their ARFs. Here's how to read the catalog entry. If you look up at the product description, you will see a section marked "Specs:" and a section marked "Required:" You need to provide the parts listed in the "Required:" section.
In the past I never had any luck with flying FPV with a plane. So I think I'll keep trying until I do. This is not Bixler v1.1 I just moved the servos. Bixler was to top heavy. Gopro to mounted to high. And it caused the plane to roll uncontrollably. I will not give up on this plane until one or two things happens (1)A Perfect Flight (2) Unable to repair. I made a list of everything I'm using with Bixler in the Video description
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArg! Great video even though I threw up. I haven't flown FPV yet but have video from same plane with similiar results. I bought a cheap 3 axis gyro to stabilize things, it's better now. I have videos from a bigger platform Gentle Lady that is much more stable but not resistant to hard stuff like the Bixler. Keep working on it. thanks
No, stuff like trees, rocks, earth. I love balsa but foam is much easieer to fix. Contrary to what many people think those green pillow looking things in your fpv aren't soft.
I have never been to Portugal but since seeing the scenery in your video I am looking for a ride. It looks like a wonderful vacation. Oh yeah, your flying is great, very stable.
Ya you simple logic, if it says theirs a video they would have a video. BUT, simple logic seems to go out the window with HK's low prices. TO FIND THE VIDEO: fastest way is just google "Bixler set up". this is also just for anyone else who may be looking for the video!
comes with tubing installed and wire (although its a little thin) but will work for casual flying.

Definet 5 star. It flies so good, glides and even beginner sport flying. Later You can cut wing tips and do some serious action fast flying.

i used 2 hxt 900s for rudder and elevator and 2 hxt 500s for ailerons. on inrunner with 6x4 prop and turnigy plush 30 amp esc. maiden flight was almost a disaster. had to replace the thin stock spar to an 8 mm carbon tube spar. flies better after the mods. thin push rods. this plane has a lot to be desired. put the battery to the nose since it's tail heavy. plane floats due to the wings. it has so much lift. but change the spar and the wings won't flex. good plane but takes some mods for it to fly better.
ordered two of these plnaes from the USA warehouse wile many were in stock and cant even get a tracking number..now i have hundreds of dollars of fpv gear that i cant use...for who knows how long

Not a bad flying airplane. however, be careful as the spar is very thin and will snap under heavy load. We had 3 of these blixers spars to snap. good news is even after failure, the airplane is still flyable enough to land.

Hello, I need some spare wings. Where can I buy a pair because I managed to destroy them after several tree landings.
