I found that the stock configuration was a bit underpowered so I converted it to brushless using Hobbyking! Here is a video Enjoy! Much more enjoyable to fly now!

Figured out the problem with the linear servo not moving to the left. Had to manually turn the shaft to each extreme and then plug it in and it works fine now!

If anyone is interested, the Turnigy Nano Tech 2S 25-40C discharge 370mAh battery is 9.8g heavier than the OEM battery. I measured it today after receiving it with this plane. Speaking of which, the aileron servo won't move to the left...only right. I have a support ticket in with customer service.

is a 2s 20c pack ok with the esc on this plane?
 Brian 5 points
I have the same plane and used a zippy 2s 350 20c and is was a snug fit but worked fine...
 Andrew 3 points
I used turnigy nano tech 2s 20c 340mah, you have to trim one side of the battery door to make it fit but for a $4 battery and almost double the flight time well worth it.
 Andrew 3 points
I made a mistake in that post. It was turnigy nano tech 2s 25-40c discharge 370mah

I just got mine today. Everything is looking great with one exception. The elevator servo is extremely weak. There is not enough torque in the servo to move the elevator unless the control arm is connected to the outermost hole on the control arm. Even connected to the outer most hole on the control horn, there is barely enough power move elevator. So, at this point I'm looking for options? Anyone have any suggestions?

Search for Nine Eagles xtra 300. There are a number of places that sell them along with replacement parts. You can get a replacement servo, esc, receiver card for $25 to $35.

The Xtra 300 is fairly under powered stock. The air frame however is exceptional. It's a great plane to consider upgrading. Before you replace the receiver card for $35 consider the following. You can buy a micro receiver, ESC, micro servos and micro outrunner for about $10 more. This is a great plane to fly on 2S and it's a great upgrade if you have to shell out $$$ anyway....

I had the same problem with mine. I sent it back but still have yet to see what HK is gonna do about it. Its been two weeks since they received it at the warehouse in the USA.

The servo on my Nine eagles extra 300 works well. I recomend buying another plane and keeping it around for spare parts, props, battery, second charger, wing. it will save money in the long run over buying spare parts.

TxToast, can you give us a link to the micro setup you are talking about? Thanks

I just got this in the mail today so I've uploaded the manual in case anyone is interested.
 Andrew 3 points
When I got mine it was trash, not flyable because of the POS linear servos are too weak. Hope you had better luck!

My servos on on both my nine eagles and my cox 300 work very well as well as my brothers. it must be a batch of defective motors.

This is a great little plane for only $60. I was very impressed with the packing of the parts. No trouble putting it together, but the battery barely fits into the little access door under the nose and then needs some support once it is inside to prevent it from moving back and forth. If you put the battery all the way forward and stuff some foam behind it, the CG comes in at 35mm behind the wing leading edge. I think it should be at 30mm, but I'm waiting for some calm weather to test fly it to find out for sure. The model remins me of a slightly bigger ParkZone Sukhoi, but is 1/2 the price and much stronger. The EPP foam should allow for many "Mistakes" without any damage. The prop uses a 2 piece plastic hub as a prop saver. The back part of the hub is pressed on the motor shaft and the prop has a piece that fits into it. I don't know how rugged this concept is, but they do give you a spare prop with a new break away hub in case you lose one.
I ordered the #20411 Turnigy Nano Tech 370ma 2S 25-40C batts as spare packs which are a great deal at ~ $4. If you use these you will need to open up the side of the battery door a bit, but the slightly heavier battery will make the CG closer to where it supposed to be.
Overall this is an Excellent little plane.

You really just cant beat this deal! So little cost for such a great little plane! easily assembled in less time than it takes to get the battery charged. Very durable plane and any ridiculous wrecks are patched up with a little foam safe glue. dont even hesitate to add this one to the collection!

Plane arrived in great condition in packaging. Assembly is super simple. Just plug in and screw in the wing with a single screw. Optional Landing gear slide into a slot on the bottom of the plane. Battery compartment has a very small opening making it a challenge to get the battery out once it's in. A trick I found was to pull the lead to the receiver out and put batter in before connecting the wire. Then with both connectors out of the small opening, connect them and stuff the wires in. This makes it easy to be able to grab the wires and gently tug on the battery to get it into a position where you can grab it for removal. CG seems is tail heavy, so make sure to push battery as far forward as possible. For a bit of added stability, I taped a quarter into the nose and that seemed to do wonders for the stability of the plane, although, making it slightly heavier. (I'm not sure how much a U.S. quarter weighs). Control rods were attached to the second most outer hole on control horns, giving the control surfaces about 1mm or throw. The elevator servo seems to be defective. It is extremely weak and can barely move the elevator. I had to move the control rod to the outer most hole on the control horn to get enough leverage to move the elevator. Moving it in to any of the inner holes resulted in zero movement of the elevator. The plane flies well. This is my first 4-c

got the plane, assembled it which was really easy. powered it up to test the control surfaces and none of the servos are strong enough to move the surfaces like they should. The surfaces move and the servo gets stuck. i never even got a chance to fly it. Sent it back and i am awaiting a response to see if hobbyking will make things right............doubtful

Packaged great and arrived 3 days early! Fly's great, though a little small for a beginner (me) to see the orientation from any distance. I will however say that this thing is TOUGH! I nose dived it full speed too many times to count and all I have had to do was replace the prop once and add some tape to the body because I broke a tab. I do wish they had more replacement parts but all in all a really cool little airplane for a heck of a price!
