I bought a HobbyKing Saturn F3P Ultralite EPS Indoor 3D Airplane 920mm. I wonder if this battery is correct for this plane ?

Hi Sole, This pack is no heavier than a standard 800mah 2S LiPo, so it's within the spec LiPo range for the Saturn. The long narrow configuration means it will be fairly easy to tuck in along the fuselage. Should work fine. Cheers, EA!
hey SOLE, im not into 3d yet,but would like to share some advice.dont always believe what the specs say for your plane.yes this is a good battery replacement for a standed 800mah i know, i did this also.but knowing what ive read about 3d planes to normal flying planes setups, setups are different and must be taken into account(c of g)battery placement to cg,thrust angles etc.if your aiming for full 3d i wouldnt go with battery because.
i brought a swift pnf with these lipos recommended in specs 500-800 mah .on the box recommended lipo was 500 mah lipo for plane.the setup with 800mah lipo the plane was too nose heavy.yes you could use a 800 but you had to mod the fuse and place the lipo under the wing something that was not mentioned in spec to get correct cg (the plane is a favourite in its current setup)i also found that a 500 lipo and lower from others using this plane was the better fit for its setup without mods.
theirs not much info on your plane (about what people are using)the hk guy in vid is talking 200-400 2s lipo so who is right?their is roughly 20g difference between 400-450 nanos and standed lipos to 800/950 nano that might make all the difference(yes if will fly but will it hover and do all the 3d that is exspected).
i shouldnt say dont go with battery because its not really the truth (i dont know, not enough info)but what i would consider is buying a couple of each 400-450 nano(being the highest) and 950 to see what works best.if you get performance from both its a win/win situation ,if you dont from the 950 then you have to reorder(waiting another 21 days imagining your plane hovering ,flying around lol) just thought id add my 2cent(15centc) worth from a lesson learnt.sorry about the chapter 3 short story i just cant write that fast before hk system kicks you off good luck happy flying.
Hi Sole, Are you now totally confused? Here's the bottom line. There's about 18g-20g difference between a 400mah/2S LiPo and this 950mah/2S LiPo. On a plane that specs AUW with a 30g range (200-230g) there is obviously some wiggle room on the weight. The big difference is flight time and power. The plane/motor specs a 10A-12A ESC, so the max draw on the motor is probably 8A-9A. At the current, you'll be drawing over 20C from a 400mah LiPo but only 9C from this one. Your flight times (using 6A as the approx average draw) will be 9-10 minutes with the 950mah, 3-4 minutes with the 400mah. You be the judge. Cheers, EA!

1. I could have answered this question, thats right I bought this lipo to substitute for (standard)8002S Lipo
2. I didnt just look at the specs of the plane, i went online (not much info) HK webpage HK Vid, which brings me to adding specs comment.
3. Hassle and Cost* If i wanted to scratch build a swift instead of buying one, I would have* dont recommend specs that dont work with normal configuration,(there is a long following of happy customers doing this) swift webpage, RC groups.
4. As above, this is one of many examples of specs being incorrect.
5. I thought the discussion page is used for members to comment on tips, ideas and advice (I dont own this plane, so here is some advice)
6. Bottom Line = I'm not buying the battery (Batteries) Sole, you are at your cost. So i thought it was always your choice.

Hi Leonardo, This LiPo battery will be 7.4vdc when fully charged, which is probably too high for the Devo 7E Transmitter. You need a 2S LiFe battery which would be about 6.4vdc fully charged. I'am a bit confused. On the picture I see normal JST female connector but in the description is mini-JST which look completly different when I search it on the web. So which one is it? (I would need normal JST female connector - that one shown on picture)
That depends on which of the 850mah bats. One is 49grams, another is 46grams and another is 41grams. No idea why the price difference, it's not a lot though.
