Zippy Compact, the latest addition to our Zippy battery series offers excellent performance and high quality in a "Compact" size. These packs provide the same capacity and discharge rate as our Flightmax line, but give you alternative sizes for applications that require a specific shape.
Great for models with limited battery compartment space!
Zippy batteries deliver full capacity & discharge as well as being the best value batteries in the hobby market today!
These are good for a 450 Heli, but they are are lighter than a standard 2200mAh battery (which could throw off CG). I bought these because I needed a lighter battery on mine. For reference, The Compact 2700mAh is about the same weight as the normal Zippy 2200mAh... If you already have a battery that works in your 450, just weigh it and try to match it.
Thanks for the info, I do not have any batteries currently and figureing out what I "need" get confusing real quick!
What would be a decent budget charger for these batteries?
You can't connect this direct to your receiver as your receiver is able to handle between 3.5–*9.6V and this, fully charged delivers 12.6V ! You need an ESC with an embedded BEC if you use a motor on the parkflyer, this will deliver the correct amount of current (4.8-6V) to the receiver & servos connected to it. (simply connect the esc signal cable the throttle channel on the receiver).
Guys above me are right,
I am using few of these and no performance problems.
The pack is powerful enough, its just new technology, that offerede lower weight (and longer flight times!)
This battery might have been good if it didnt have a dead cell on arrival. I plugged it into my charger and it came up with a cell voltage error. I gave three stars for value because it is very small and light for a 2200mAh pack and I would be very pleased with this battery if it had worked.
I kept 3s Zippy4000mAH for a while, always balance charge.BUt one cell dead.I cut dead piece to be 2s,the insulation between cell are poor compare to Turnigy.
I got 3 few days ago.Weight is even less,161gr and 162gr.Formed them(5 anoing times)and flew them.My opinion is they are arround 25C,maybe a little less.Getting on my 3D flight with Hyperion Edge 540T 25e and Hyp. Z3019-12,prop. 13x6,5 arround 51Amps on fully charged batt. on static thrust. The power comes pretty fast down.Never the less, they are performing exellent during flight.
The thing is they are getting really worm after 6min of 3D flight. They were discharged down to 18% and when I recharged them with T.Accucell I've put arr.1700mAh.
First flight I managed to have a dead stick landing, got carryed away and flew only 6:30min because of my hard 3D and the cells were down to 3.4V and(down to only 2%)and when recharged with T.Accucell I've put 2107mAh so they are more like 2.1 not 2.2mAh capacity.
I tried to use this battery with 450heli ,throttle more than 50% the power shot down very fast. This batt is not good for helicopter, but for normal plane seems ok.
same as flightmax?
so this is to mean not as good as the turny's or nano's then? as the turny flightmax IMO arent as good.....
and compact? how? they dont appear to be smaller or much lighter...?
It's slightly smaller and lighter than the regular Turnigy 2200mah as far as I can tell just by looking at and holding the two batteries. At least on a quad every little bit of weight you can save counts, so I use this on it. Sure, I get 18½ mins of hovering out of a 4000mah Nanotech, but my quad is far more agile with this 2200mah battery. I like it! And the price is great too!
no I think it´*s a limit how many that can backorder an item. I got that message when try order a Tx thats was on backorder. Like it was whit the Tx 9x a while like 50 backorder or something. Then you never get it.
I ordered 2 of these. They are nice and light, but one of them has puffed slightly after only a few cycles and has reduced usable capacity compared to the other pack I received. I looked into the HK warranty and I don't think they will be able to help me. I have mixed feelings about ordering more. Has anyone else had this problem?
Seems every other compact lipos charge at 5c. Wonder how it will cope on the long run. Anyways, always best to charge at 1c rate on good lipos. Cheap ones like this one, hell why not? lol You've still got 5 lipos for the price of one big brand lipo.
ZIPPY compact ist 9 gram LEICHTER wie standard turnigy lipos. Auch die dimension ist nicht gleich (sie die beschreibung). Aber die hauptrolle spielt das gewicht! :D
i think i will be the gineapig here. i just ordered 2 of them yesturday.. i want them to fit on my PZ t-28d that has a height and with tight fit for pz-2200 this one have same with and height. so will hope to fit on there.
also the wires output looks like will not affect the width as my nano-tech, and turnigys that have a side wire output. a big issue to fit them on my pz trojan.
Do a bit of Maths work and you will find they are no smaller than a comparable Turnigy 2200 Mah 25c. Its just longer and shorter but fatter.... Marketing con?
In the description it says it offers alternate sizes, not that each cell is smaller. So if the turnigy batteries are too fat, this will fit but needs a longer battery tray.
The equivalent normal Zippy is 104x36x25 and this is 107x21x34 so it's almost the same as a 90 degree tilted normal one except that the wires are on the side then. But if you really need these 2 or 3 mm(which is really not much) I guess this is great for you. Otherwise it's just $1,50 extra for a different color.
Wait, I just checked today's Hobbyking Daily and at 0:51 you will see this battery and it's pretty clear that the height is larger than the width. Something that is also visible in above picture. This might be some perspective thing but if it's not then the size stated is probably wrong.
I have a few 2200 3s 25c Zippy and Turnigy. Yes, zippy is slightly lighter and visibly smaller but Turnigy holds voltage much better under heavy load. I'd say zippy is in 20-25c range, Turnigy 25-30c. Both are good batteries but for high load I'd prefer Turnigy.
See shipping weight.. it's generally MUCH lower for Compact vs old type Zippys. It's a considerable saving if you get your basket right.. Just 1 my 2c.
I think HK reduces the practice of shipment overcharging. Usually zippys come in bubble warp (Turnigy most often come in a carton box) so adding 40g for a 4g bubble wrap was not something I liked. (My last order came 1.63kg while HK stated 1.98kg

What's not to love? Seems to pack quite a punch on my quad, it's lighter and smaller than my other batteries. (Incl the popular 2200mah 3S Turnigy lipo for 7-8 bucks) Buy several!
