Hey guys, I have a rookie question. I bought a pair of these but I don't know how to mount it on a motor with a 3mm diameter shaft. I assumed the little circles were adapters but they don't fit on the propeller hole. Do I need to buy something else? My outrunner has the prop saver bolts. Thanks!!
I use them for a mini quad with Hextronik 1181 motors and Turnigy plush 6A unmodded speed controllers (also from HK).
They are not balanced well, and vibrate at a certain speed losing thrust. On a quad with auto leveling, this means the opposite side power is also reduced, which causes yaw torque, and the remaining two motors power are also reduced and the quad falls off the air.
I added 0.5cm wide scotch magic tape of 5cm length to the light blade (the one which does not have the marking* 5x5 is written on the heavy blade) and now it is smooth and flies well. The amount of tape required is the same for both of my props, and is horribly long, but it works fine.
*Fernando yeah but TGS have the same qualities in there props too, after using all three brands i'd still go to the real APC props but if you are talking about APC style props like the ones here and the TGS props go for the TGS ones as they are better, your choice at the end of the day.
these props have a really nice finish to them! I'm waiting on my RPM/KM meter to rate them properly. they seem very balanced, they sure can go faster but I don't know how much. they feel a bit quieter than other 5X5's I've been testing (and breaking)
