Will the Hobbyking X-Car Brushless Power System 4000KV/60A
(Product ID 9164000005) work well in terms of form, fit factor and specifications with the Tower hobbies Associated SC10 4X4 Factory team Kit (Stock Number LXCACV)?
Das packet ist einfach super ich fahre es in einem 4wd onroad mit einem 5000 turnigy lipo 2s 20c gute Beschleunigung gute Endgeschwindigkeit und keine Ü*berhitzung macht sich bemerkbar
If it is smelling burnt connect the program card to the receiver cable and change the temp on the program card, the menu number should be on the back of the card and should say temperature and turn it down and that should fix it.
Now for the ESC to Motor connection , should the wires from the esc directly be soldered into the slots on the motor or should we first solder three wires to the motor and then install bullet connectors to both the wire coming out from the esc and the motor ?
I recently purchased this engine and wanted to know which is the right temperature for the motor and esc to avoid risk of damage by temperature. The ESC and motor temperature protection have?
Thks.
ok, is see. I think i just will try first with my batteries.
can you send me a link or ithem number of a pinion gear that will fit?
cant find metric 0,6.
i noe have 19 teeth. what do you mean with high giring.
you would recommend a smaller pinion gear. like 17 t ? or 21?
Yes, start with smaller pinions. I can't link to a 0.6 pinion, nothing here on Hobbyking. You need to search your online shops for Tamiya pinion gears or other brand 0.6's.
Metric 0.6 module. A TL-01 is a simple beginners car so don't go too high in gearing or it could melt your drivetrain. Actually I would not recommend going brushless or LiPo for that model at all. Too flimsy and can't handle that much power. Furthermore the battery compartment may not fit any hardcase LiPo. If I was you I'd go for another car first. TA-05 or TB-03. Or just stay with what you have...
thnx
is there any charger ready for the wall 220\230 v
or is theree a charger in the price range in the middel of the (cheap): ACC6 and the (great): iCharger106B
and which smaller pinion gear do you recommend to my car?
thnc
Hi Lloyd, I can NOT recommend any AC-Charger. They're unreliable, expensive and can't load with high amps (within a reasonable price range that is). If you go with 5300mAh batteries, you need a charger that can handle 5.3Ampere. Therefore, your best (cheap) bet is this: Accucel8150 with a cheap power supply like this: 9052000023 or any old laptop supply with 11-18V and a minimum of 50W. For the pinion I can't recommend, you need to test. Start with what you have see how it performs.
can you send me link for good batteri, so i have some running time and a OK charger?
I can send a pictuere of my car. if i can send it to your email?
do you think the pinion gear that i have fit the new enigne?
sorry for all the question am new in this.
or what type will i need to buy?
an will I need a new battery connections from battery to esc and between esc and enigne?
thanks for a the answers.:)
best regards lloyd
Well, I'll try step by step. Put the codes in the search field on top of this site: This battery: NC5300.2S2P.30 This charger (cheap): ACC6 This charger (great): iCharger106B You need a power supply for the chargers like this: T-20PS And finally you'll need 4mm gold connectors for the batteries: AM1003A Your pinion will fit and if you find it too big just buy some smaller ones.
thank you for the good answer. I have a few more questions if its ok
would you recommend this insted :
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__25141_ _Turnigy_TrackStar_Waterproof_1_10_Brushless_Power_S ystem_4250KV_80A.html
or would you have the hobbyking x-car set we have been talking about?
which of the sets are the best?
Say if i use my old batteri. i have a 19 pinion gear. what kinds of speed will get?
and do you think i need a new gear or will me gear from the fusion modifeid 17x2 fit the new enigne?
and if i where to buy liPo packs which do you recommend for my car, an to i need a new charger then? i now have a old
1,2 - 3 Ah charging and 7,2-8,4V (6-7 cells)
You definately need a new charger for LiPos. Many cheap ones here on HK. If the water proof system is better or not - your choice! Wanna drive in wet conditions? OK! Pinion gears - start with smaller pinions and see if your system runs hot. Raise gears until your happy with speed and temperatures. You could achieve speeds of 100 km/h and above, all dependent on gearing. Consumes loads of power though...
Ah well and for the batteries...you need to know about size. Choose a Turnigy hardcase LiPo, and see if it can fit in your car. I have Turnigy Nanotech 5300mAh in my TB-03 and they fir well. I dunno your car and the size of the battery compartment.

This kit would be perfect for a 1/10 Tamiya car. You can keep all your radio stuff, even your old batteries. Though new LiPo packs would dramatically increase power even further.
Excellent power, even very fast. But very boring to run the reverse, you have to drive about 3 times to get into reverse. And mine is having a problem with 3S you walk at full load about 30 seconds and it shuts down the system, already checked battery, heater motor and nothing happens. Also the engine overheats too, 2s with about 3 minutes he tbm off by heating, is at 68 º* C. I recommend going for a combo with 4S so I can use 3S battery.
You can program the ESC on how reverse works. Standard is brake-stop-reverse. So if you want immediate reverse, re-program your ESC. That mode consumes huge amount of current though.
Yes, I know I can change the system to reverse, but that's not what he said. What was said: He does not brake at all. And even if you stopped the car and holding the defendant, does not trigger, you have to drive about 3 or 4 times to give him a defendant. If no defect is **** this combo.
Ok I see. Did you learn the throttle range? You need your ESC to learn the throttle range of your transmitter. Without that step, it might not recognize reverse/break. It's in the manual.
motor gets hot even when not mounted in 1/10 schumacher car. motor smells burned. Motor does not run at all. Only use one day on indoor track. This can not be the quality of HK?!!!
It could be a bad motor.when anything is mass produced there is bound to be a few bad ones.if it was bought through hobbyking go through the customer service complaint page.It will take them a while but they will give you credit for the cost of the motor. They have always taken care of me!Be sure to give me best answer credit if it works for you.
I am using this combo in my 1:10 car. Previously I used a brushed engine/esc and switched to this one.
I noticed a very significant difference on how breaking works - in the brushed engine when i did 'break' wheels effectively stopped in place.
When using this combo (I have breaking set on 100%) It needs several meters to slow down to full stop (even from not so high speeds). Is that normal or something is wrong?
It is normal behaviour with brushless motors. Brushed motors have a much stronger magnetic braking force. You could try drag brake additionally but you won't ever get a full-stop-brake as you were used to.
3300mAh 3s lipo with this or will it break the esc?I had the 100amp x-car combo in a 4wd truck and not sure if the battery fried it or the esc just died.Fan still runs but no throttle or steering servo.
The ESC is not sealed in any way. All contacts are exposed on the outside so I would not recommend running it in wet conditions. Should withstand some light humidity though if you prep with some silicon oil or similar.
It depends on the gearing or load you put on your motor but this lipo is able to put out a lot more power than i would expect any properly geared vehicle to demand. I would say go for it
Put this setup into a thundertiger sparrowhawk xt truggy 1/10 4wd was blown away with how much power it has compared to factory brushed motor running 6 cell nimh tried with a 2cell lipo and power was crazy was wheelstanding off the mark

I got this for my Associated SC10 2wd and I run it with 16t pinion and 87t spur. very fast and motor hardly gets warm. after 15 min or so I have issues with the esc stopping for 5-20sec and then letting me drive again. I think it may be overheating even though its only slightly warm to the touch. this is why I rated 4 stars... Otherwise its fantastic combo.

Hi, I put this in an old Associated T3 to give it a chance... At half throttle,if I blast to full, the T3 simply flips.... more than enough power, thanks to the included programming box, I adjsuted to get a smooth acceleration for my small home track... The esc also gives ma some limp problem. I have to switch it off and turn it back on.... so I would not go to the races with this combo...
I installed this in a old Himoto Emxt thing that melted its fan in the 540 brushed motor. From trainer to andrenalin pump is basicly the best I can say. Motor runs cool and so does the ESC. Only trouble is to keep the thing from flipping and to keep the front down. On concrete it spins, but on grass it just simply flip. Got to be gentle on the trigger.
