Light weight and compact in size, the TFR4B is a great choice for both surface and air applications. Its FAAST compatibility makes it an excellent value for users running 3PK/4PK/4PKS surface systems, and also for those using FASST 2.4G air systems.
Compatibility: FASST 2.4G: Air Systems (7CH Mode/Multi Mode) & Surface Systems (C1 Mode) (3PK 4PK/4PKS etc.) FrSky TF Modules: TF-8M, TF-14M
Features: Compatible with FASST 2.4G: Air Systems (7CH Mode/Multi Mode) & Surface Systems (C1 Mode); CPPM and RSSI (PWM) output - If CH3 and CH4 are connected by a jumper, CH1 will output CPPM for CH1~CH8, and CH2 will output RSSI (PWM); Light weight and small size; Two selectable failsafe setting options
Specifications: Number of Channels: 4 Operating Voltage Range: 3.5V~10V Operating Temperature Range: -10℃~80℃ Dimension: 42x19x7mm Weight: 5.0g
Can you use normal servos with this RX. One above has different pin set up to one in the file section? Also will it accept 3 pin servo wire or only 2?
Thanks
I lack experience with DLG models, but assuming you have enough channels - 2 channels for ailerons, one for rudder and one for elevator - yes, this will work with a DLG. It will of course work with a Futaba 8FG.
*Can it bind with my 6EX 2.4g?..if yes any other setting should i apply...?
*What is the difference between this rx and TFR4B...?
Plan to use it for my DLG glider..thanks!
The 4 and 4B are identical, except the 4 has a plastic casing and pins that come out the top. 4B has a heavyweight paper wrap and the pins come out of the side.
yes, and no settings except note the different bind procedures between Futaba vs FrSky FASST RXes - First press FS/Bind on FrSky, then apply power to the Rx to bind.
ho fatto quella domanda perchè* la rx R603FF della tx 3GR NON lega con le rx dele sorelle 3VCS 3PK allora volevo sincerarmi del buon esito positivo dell'operazione.grazie buona giornata.
took mine out today.. my futaba 7c in low power mode range test went 40 metres away with out any drop out.. flew the plane all around the field no prob.
CPPM output lets you run all the channels 1-8 on one wire to a flight control board. The RSSI output lets people flying FPV see what their signal strenth is. (RSSI = Received signal strength indication)
Hi will this receiver work with FrSKY ACCST ? I have the FrSKY ACCST transmitter module for my JR - and need a small park flyer receiver. Would this work?
Hi,
Unfortunately this is the Futaba FASST compatible version from FrSky.
This is not compatible with ACCST.
A tip for you; "TF" coded products are FASST compatible receivers. ;)
If 4 channel is enough for you, you should buy this receiver : www.link other Frsky receivers look at Transmitter systems section>2.4 frsky
Hope it might help you.
regards.
Actually the cause of this problem is the failsafe function of the transmitter. Not the receiver.
You should deactive the failsafe function from your transmitter.
If you want to program a failsafe funtion you should do that over your receiver. This will certainly solve your jitter problem, beleive me:)Many of my friends had the same problem and I solved them.
Where do you plug in the rx battery? if you use on of the channels for the battery then it is only a 3 channel receiver enless you are using an esc to power the receiver.
Robert, what the guys above are trying to show you is the use of a simple Y-lead. The battery power doesn't have to go into its own port - it can share it with a servo!
Yes. Compatible with: FASST 2.4GHz Radio Multi-channel Systems and modules (TM8, TM10, TM14, FF10, TG8,8FG, T8FG, FG12, T14, FX20, FX30, FX40, etc.) Also suitable for ground systems 3PK,4PK, 3PM, 2PL, etc. and for 7-channels sytems like TM7, FF7, 6EX,7C.
Yes Tan, this Rx is compatible to most of Futaba FASST Radios starting 6EX, T7C, 8FG, 9CA, 10CH, 12FG, 14MZ etc...I have been using Frsky TFR Rx for the past 1.5 years and been totally satisfied with them on Electic planes.
Not the best price compared to it's 6/7 ch air equivalent. It's silly to pay same price/more when you don't want/need the surface ability. Frsky need to separate air/surface and price accordingly. I'll stick to the TFR7
FrSky themselves do not differentiate Air/Surface, (unlike $pektrum where they are different). Basically use the Rx for whatever you wish.
Also, some will find the 4.6gram 4ch worth the weight saving on a small light model, (which likely only needs 3 or 4 channels).
Guess just be thankful that FrSky makes EXCELLENT receivers to allow huge cost saving as against "Futaba" brand.
separate Surface to Air !! ,,What do want to go Backwards ,,Ok ,, the Name ,,dont mean surface to Air for Nothing , If you go Close to Range ,,loosing a of the set stereo ,trans, twin makes a nice Beep when you loose 1 ,of the 2 ,duel ,Transmissions , that's All i K noticed , being good ,, ,Yes,we Like them the way they are ,,.
*coptor - you do not understand the full range of this RX - it is both air/surface and 8ch via PPM SUM.
if you put a jumper across pins 3 & 4, you get 8ch out via PPM SUM on ch 2 and rssi on ch 1 - this is excellent for multirotors or any craft that can handle PPM SUM (all channels come in in one stream so only 1 wire is needed) such as many autopilots and also fpv flying as the rssi output lets you know how strong the radio's signal is when you are out flying fpv. Futaba will not offer us a PPM SUM RX, only sbus for hundred of $$ - no thanks.
don't bash it until you know its full capabilities, that is why it is a bit more or = to the larger tfr8, and don't forget that the tfr8s can be combined with another tfr8/s to get a 14ch setup - again, something Futaba dropped the ball on.

Orded 5 of these, and they arrived quickly.
Binding to the TX was easy (switch on TX, hold down F/S button on the RX then apply power to receiver). All 5 bound first time and in less than a second.
I fitted one of them to my Lightflite Bug, and have flown the model as far away as I could see it with no range or control issues at all.
So all in all I'm pretty impressed. It is already low weight, but you could, I suppose, remove the heatshrink to save another gram or so but mine work perfectly as is.

Excellent,
