Is this made of steel or aluminium? And is it solid or empty? (hole all length)

Like it?

Have yet to use this as its a spare for my 550. I did however check for roundness and it is dead on. Bolts are of good quality too. If anything like the HK500 shafts, it should be soft enough to save the main grips in a light crash.
