if you can keep it cool it should be fine just make sure you use the right size prop and you work the motor to hard as it spins fats with low voltage. this will make your boat fly

hello, I prefer this, is 2 poles, generates less heat than 4-pole which is the other you say about the list, has less power than the 4 poles. Furthermore the rotor is fitted with a fan that goes very cold. The 4-pole have more torque having fewer revolutions drop allowing developments put longer, consume a little more, a little more heat generated. They are great for large or heavy cars or need a lot of strength (big wheels, 1/8, 1/5,. Monsters, buggys)
I would say motor timing is best used when gearing options are limited. Some motor mounts have only so much room to support the spur and pinion gears. So, you either go down in gears, or advance timing, though the motor. Some guys will also use it to give them a little more speed.
Hello, timing is the rotation of the engine hood of a motor with brushes. If you turn aside accelerates and loses some torque. If you turn the other slows and win some torque. A brushless motor has no brushes and this is done electronically. But there is one golden rule to more timing more heat and higher consumption.

It will work no problem with the ESC but be sure to have a small pinion gear. It's a fast motor and a too big pinion in an offroad truck will make the motor overheat. I ordered the same motor for my Duratax Evader.. can't wait to see how fast it will go!!
hey max :D I assume you mean the 1 16 buggy from this site, right? If so, this motor is far too big :D this motor is for 1 10 scale vehicles. The motor you want has 20 mm diamter and 40 mm length. There is one motor on this site the 2040 4800kv motor which i think is the same as the one you already have in your buggy and its also on backorder right know. I know from experience that you dont want too much power in that buggy otherwise the gears break so i would change it as little as possible :) i hope this helps
I am so close to ordering one of these motors, but I am concerned about the added rotating mass / resistance from the built in fan...I'm assuming from the pictures that the orange anodized piece on the rotor is the fan, and if so it doesn't look like it has large fins to create resistance. I'm just wondering what kind of effect this has on the performance, but I'm guessing the engineers know better than I do so I might just go for it anyhow.
MrBones, you're guessing wrong. This orange piece that you referring is the front shield(actually a piece of it, this piece is on the front of the stator), the fan is inside the can. Check Orion modified motors from 2007, or 2008, they also had an inbuilt fan, and boy, they were not slow. I also had a 4.5 Orion with an inbuilt fan, so I know what I'm speaking of *) Cheers.
Don´*t worry about the built in fan. It's really a plus making the motor run more cool. I used this one on a onroad TC6 and on a DEX410 and it runs pretty good. Very good acceleration and top speed. Advance the timming on the endbell of the motor to 35º* for better running performance.
These are actually SkyRC Ares series rebranded motors. They work very well although you might have to check motor orientation as they would only clog if you have to wire-reverse them (sensor issue may be?). We only had issue with one such setup though, all others work flawlessly.

I got this a few weeks ago, so far i'm very happy with it. I'm using the HobbyKing 60A sensored ESC with it. The fan inside the motor is pretty quiet. I put mine in a Tamiya TT-01 that my buddy hooked me up with. With a 61T/19T spur/pinion set-up it hits 44MPH at full throttle. It's very fast, almost too much acceleration, I've all ready torn up my new tires after about 8 hours of run time. My only problem now is figuring out a better servo. The EXI DF227F I bought isn't centering when I turn right.

I have been running this motor for weeks now. I know its says 7.2 max volts BUT I have been using a 11.1 volt 3s heli Batt. Its insane I know it may not last long but at this price I'll buy 5 if I have to. So far so good getting hot but running hard so far. 10 points from me.

O.K so now ive been running this motor for months with one or more runs most days unless my car has been broken and waiting on parts. I have been very pleased with this motor. I am mainly running on 2S 7.4 now not the 11.1 3S any more as its just to fast and destroying my car. I have ordered a 3.5 turn and 120amp esc to see how that goes and will give feedback. THIS MOTOR IS STILL GOING HARD. Dispite my total lack of following the rules!!!
