This Will overpower you formula one! But you CAN try with a 60amp esc. I recommend you à* good brushed motor for your lightweight motor

My current gearing is 21T pinion and 78T spur. Its on my zx-5 which i have modified a lot. If i run on 3s, do u think this gearing is good enough>
Avnish  1 points - 2/25/2013

would this work well with a 3s lipo
 Rcracer74 21 points
Motor is rated up to 4s so 3s should be fine. Might need to gear down a little and keep an eye on temp.

anyone use this with an sv2? will it give a good amount of speed (compared to the 12t) with the stock scx10 gearing?
 soontaya 3 points
i wolnt suggest it ona crawler, but hooby king has many other better potions for a crawler.
soontaya  3 points - 12/31/2012

will this work on a mamba max pro on a TLR 22 sct.
 Rcracer74 21 points
I have used this motor in a Losi xxxsct with no problems so I'm sure it would work good in a 22 sct.

Has anyone used this tried this motor with a stock rtr sc10 reedy xp sc450bl brushless esc? I know it says it will work with a sensorless esc, but I just want to make sure. Thx.
 NathanMac 19 points
I haven't personally used it with that ESC but I know it will work. The sensor wire is so that the motor avoids cogging when going slow by sensing where the rotor is and applying power accordingly. Hope this helps :)
Anthony  3 points - 12/5/2012

yes this motor will work with a 2s lipo as it would with a 6cell pack of nimh's still 7.2volts just that the lipo lasts longer :)
Carlos  1 points - 11/28/2012

Wich Esc you sell will work better with this 13.5 and also with a 10, please tell brand and capacity
crazycarmaniac  159 points - 11/26/2012

any esc providing its above 30 Amps
dante rodney  6 points - 11/25/2012

please can you tell me whats the best esc for this motor ,its for my sc10 strictkly racing here ,thank you
 crazycarmaniac 159 points
any esc providing its above 30 Amps
 Iker 1 points
It will run in any ESC avobe 45Amps but it will run specially smooth in a sensored ESC. Also it will give you the possibility of programing other params.
Daniel  22 points - 11/20/2012

Can anyone tell me if this motor will run on a 2S battery ? Thanks in advance.
 __nph 25 points
It runs even on 1S LiPo so I don't see why it wouldn't run on 2S.

thanks dude. i have no experience with brushless, and i saw "3S-4S" in the specs.
 crazycarmaniac 159 points
nope just 3s max. it floors on 3s

Can this motor run with a trackstar sensorless esc considering that it's a sensored motor?
 citizen01293 6 points
I have used this motor without a sensor wire and had no problems it will drop the performance slightly but you can gear up to resolve, keep a eye on the temperature
 crazycarmaniac 159 points
the temps from that sereies of motors is crazy. ive burnt m self on mine
crazycarmaniac  159 points - 7/27/2012

is it possible to remove the sensored half . if not is there a sensor plug cover
i dont want to short the motor and esc . i treat my rc car like a boat . i sumberge it in sloppy clay water and othe stuff
 citizen01293 6 points
I would not suggest you use the motor in this way mainly due to the motor vents you would get grit inside the motor can but if you must I would put insulation tape around the motor vents and seal the sensor connector with silicon

 crazycarmaniac 159 points
could i use wire mesh to cover the inside of the vents to make it look like a pro job?
 citizen01293 6 points
I would not do this first it would invalidate the warranty secondly adding metal mesh would affect the magnetic field of the motor, if i was doing a pro looking job i would first seal the motor then encase the whole motor in a large flexible nylon cable braid

Would this be a decent motor size for a Traxxas Stampede? lots of torque? gear it higher on a lipo 3s? Or should I try an 8.5 turn ?
 Robert 20 points
Lots of torque it is!!however if you want to match the speed or even torque on a hard surface of the Stampede stock motor. You should go with 8.5T...
 crazycarmaniac 159 points
it depends on how fast you want to go but you can gear it for faster or slower speeds . it should fit your traxxas stampede
Abdul Hanif  4 points - 5/18/2012

What are the 15 30 45 markings on the end cap for?
 Berque 14 points
it should be about motor timing. If you are not so much experienced, its not an important thing to think about.
 crazycarmaniac 159 points
the timing should adjust how much power or speed you want
draw a straight line and put power at one end and speed at the other . now right in the midlle its balanced . so if you want to go faster you loose power . or if you want more power you loose speed . its weasy to understand

An awesome motor! Extremely silent and smooth; even when used with a sensorless ESC, it gives an excellent performance...

really nice motor , very good torque and smooth, runs nice and cool , actual build quality is superb, no gaps around the wiring point or harness connector to allow dirt in, timing adjustment at the end bell is nice and easy with just two screws and easy to grip recesses with good clear timing markings , leave it set to 30 degrees if you are running with reverse enabled . for the price this is a great motor , not the fastest 13.5 i have had but for street running or racing on a very tight track with a bit of timing advance on the esc its brilliant.
