Beaver Seaplane Rubber Band Powered Freeflight Model 468mm Span

Beaver Seaplane Rubber Band Powered Freeflight Model 468mm Span
Beaver Seaplane Rubber Band Powered Freeflight Model 468mm Span

The Freeflight series are just massive fun for all ages, they are ultra fast and simple to assemble as you would expect and quality is top notch, unlike the kind of kits you may have played with as a kid, these brilliant models utilize modern manufacturing techniques making them very durable, not to mention excellent performers.

This great looking Seaplane is suprisingly large and is super stable courtesy of the realistic looking floats. Like all the range, it features control surface tabs for adjustment and this of course is the real fun of Freeflight, trimming the model to achieve circuits and maybe even a half decent landing when you get it really sussed! If you are thinking you might get tired of winding up the rubber band with your chubby digits, never fear, we even have a battery powered winder with a built in counter (see related products) so no excuses!

Brilliant cheap fun for both adults and kids, the Freeflight series is a great way to have fun with friends and family in the local park, at picnics or even at your airfield!

Specs:
Wingspan: 468mm
Length: 418mm
Power: Rubber Band

Instructions, tape, rubber band x 2, prop, landing gear all included, just assemble & fly!

i wonder, if i took off the heavy floats, could i power it with the guts from an erc micro stik?
 Ben Read 19 points
I dont think so its too heavy to be powered by that rc gear so maybe a tiny brushless motor and some tiny receiver will do the trick plz credit.
 Josh 1 points
Hey you could totally use micro stuff. I'd use an eflite AS3X system out of like a mini beast and i bet it would work great!
 beezlebub 226 points
problem is, erc micro stik guts are very similar to the guts from a parkzone vapour... tiny brushed motor

Would anyone know the AUW? I've always wanted to convert the whole LyonAEEC line but never could find them. So if I could just know what the weight is as a rubberband flyer, I would know what setup to use.
 adammooren 616 points
I am thinking a 1 cell lipo 160mah, OrangeRx R415, 2 HK-5320 servos, 5a esc (PRODUCT ID: 1S6A), and Hobbyking 1608 brushless with a 5x3 prop.
 FlyRcFly 1744 points
This is a very nice looking model. It would be very very nice to see it converted. Please let me know how you go. The gear you suggest sound fine!

goto west marine and spray your electronics with corrosion x or corrosion blocker. its the best way to go. u can run a dc motor (or brushless underwater)

Will this Rise Off The Water,Darren USA
 FPVking 366 points
Take it off from a small puddle or pound. That way it'll land on the land.

Does anyone else think it resembles a Cessna far more than a DHC2?!?! Unless you focus on the wing, then we'll call it a cub or cub family.
 fotofish 74 points
Agree. Maybe it's the about the colors red-white.
Jointstrikeflyr  51 points - 5/8/2012

I think im going to buy this just for the floats for my ultramicros.
 helixerox 2356 points
I really liked, details, colors and the old rubber band. This collection of models is becoming more and more fantastic. Very beautiful

Mmmm, no radio, you just wind up the rubber and it goes....so how do you get it back when it lands in the middle of the lake/pond?
 tinman 156 points
Take it off from a small puddle or 'gilgy' as they're called in country OZ. That way it'll land on the 'land'
 justice 579 points
you must be from a different OZ to the OZ that Im in tinman."gilgy" did you make that word up when you fell face first into a puddle?
 Jindivik 12 points
A Gilgy is a type of Yabby.
 tinman 156 points
Not making up words - Obviously not from the www.link of watercourses smaller than dams (impression in a paddock basically - should have spelt it Gilgie. Plenty of them full at the moment !

Cheers Tinman.
