Is this compatible with KK2.0 Flight controller?
Enver Burak  1 points - 5/13/2013

Hi, Anyone try this receiver with Futaba 8j? is it worked well
 flyingdoctor 6 points
NO,IT WON'T WORK.8J has a totally different transmission system.
 wesix 101 points
the 8j only supports the new S-FHSS protocol. this receiver works with FASST only. so it wont work.
XcalibEr  29 points - 5/11/2013

who can i use this on my 10c with sb when my 10c does not support s.bus? does it support FASSTest or only FASST? does it support futaba telemetry?
 flyingdoctor 6 points
S-BUS does not depend from the radio but from the receiver! So,you can use S-BUS option but NO TELEMETRY OR FASSTest!!Only FASST.

What is the small patch lead for in with the RX ? Also does this RX link with a 2nd in exactly the same way as the orange version of this RX to make a 14 ch RX ?
 WTWUK 1427 points
Linking of two of this RX is not possible. The patch lead is used to set SBus servo channels by linking the SBus and RSSI ports.
 wesix 101 points
Based on this review, you can link two receivers by binding both with the same tx and shorting ch1 and ch2 with the provided jumper (one of them only) to get www.link

 WTWUK 1427 points
The receiver in that review is the TFR8-S. Not the TFR8-SB. Different receivers. The TFR8-SB cannot be used in the same way.
 wesix 101 points
But it is possible?? Good because I just ordered an 8fg becausei really need more than 8 channels
 WTWUK 1427 points
Yes it is possible. With the 8FG Super you can have 14 channels and it is compatible with this RX which has S.Bus, and the TFR8-S which can be 'twinned' with another to give 14 channels.
 wesix 101 points
I'm familiar with futaba's solutions regarding sbus, but is there any solution out there which will decode all 14 channels and give me a pwm output for each channel? I'm sure it can be done on an arduino .
 WTWUK 1427 points
Corona do a FASST 14 channel receiver - RF14A. Check the Corona 2.4gHz listings.
 wesix 101 points
Thanks a lot, just what I needed
 WTWUK 1427 points
No problem.

Т*his receiver will work with DHT transmitter?
 wesix 101 points
No. This is futaba compatible. Will work only with futaba tx
 Konstantin 1 points
But DHT is FRSKY the transmitter and the receiver of this set (FrSky FF-1 2.4Ghz Combo Pack for Futaba w / Module & PX) it works fine, although it is set for Futaba
 WTWUK 1427 points
That is a complete TX Module and RX set that work with the FrSky ACCST technology. This RX works with Futaba FASST technology and will not work with the DHT or DFT modules.
Happyexpat  1 points - 4/19/2013

Does the TFR8 work with the frsky telemetry systems. I am using the TFR8 with a Futaba T8FG.
 WTWUK 1427 points
No telemetry capability.
Ted  118 points - 4/12/2013

Can this receiver output RSSI to my easy or my cyclops storm OSD. ? Would it be plug and play ?
 WTWUK 1427 points
It does output RSSI, but chances are you will need a filter as it is not an analogue signal. Not plug and play at all.
jaso1  18 points - 4/7/2013

Can you put power into this receive via the SB and RSSI ports?
 WTWUK 1427 points
No. They are outputs only.
paktazh  4 points - 4/6/2013

I have a futaba 10 c fassat with the futaba module can i just use this with would this going to bind with futaba i don't have the frsky module thanks
 jfl2911 35 points
it has fasst modulation which is futabas... so this receiever is hundred percent compatibile with all -radios that were mentioned in product description... you don't need any additional module... it works the same as the original futaba rx... no difference...
Peter  1 points - 3/28/2013

[This was asked in a reply to a different question and answer wasn't clear so adding a dedicated thread] With original futaba RX you just can program failsafe on channel 3 and this won't work for NAZA-M which needs a different channel for failsafe.
 Peter 1 points
I don't know why the question did not show up... Can you program the failsafe to work on any channel with a Futaba 7C?
Jean-Luc  1 points - 3/28/2013

No problem, its 100 % compatible I have one an its same as futaba Sbus
Fatihkah  2 points - 3/26/2013

is this or FrSky TFR4 SB 3/16ch is best match for my T8fg super radio ?

hanks
 WTWUK 1427 points
No. This is compatible only with Futaba FASST systems - or transmitters with JR format Robbe FASST modules fitted.

The RSSI does not work on this Rx. Tested on 2 units. It outputs a constant 3v PWM no matter how far out it is. If anyone disagrees, let me know.
 WTWUK 1427 points
Bear in mind the RSSI output is not analogue - you will need a lowpass filter circuit to get the 0-3V you need. I recall seeing a diagram some time ago that someone put on photobucket but cannot recall it now. The RSSI on this RX is def. digital.
Geir  9 points - 3/4/2013

Hi,
Is this receiver plug&Play compatible with the new 14SG transmitter from Futaba?
 WTWUK 1427 points
Yes as the 14SG is compatible with FASSTest, S-FHSS and FASST, which this RX is.
 blue spirit 1 points
Yes is compatible, chose FASSTest-7Ch or FASSTEST-Multi on the t14 before binding.
strick1940  3 points - 2/16/2013

Does this receiver with the S-Bus port allow for a telemetry setup?
 WTWUK 1427 points
No telemetry.
 putzfrau 20 points
there's no telemetry on s-bus. for telemetry you need s-bus 2
 strick1940 3 points
I appreciate the info guys. Thanks

Tengo un TFR8SB conectado con un 18MZ, pero los servis Hitec HS65 se calientan y no centran, se mantienen sonando, puede ser esto que el recepyor en menc´*`on es con todos los canales SBus???? o que pasa?
pelted  8 points - 12/25/2012

I bought this Rx from a local shop mainly for my FPV quad because it has RSSI. Still can't get the RSSI output to work with the TBS Core, but the real issue with this is the poor range I'm getting. I replaced the Futaba R6208 SB that came with my 8FG with this FrSky and did some testing. Wide open fields with nearly a mile in all directions I get maybe 1/4 mile LOS before I start getting bad aircraft twitching then a little further and the NAZA goes into fail safe. In the field I put the Futaba back on, run the antennas in the same place so it's a direct 1-for-1 swap out, and I easily hit 1/2 mile and more when the video sends me turning around because of slight static. I swapped back and forth through three packs just testing an retesting. I realize this is much much cheaper than the futaba, but the range is just awful in the same setup and conditions. I may try the Corona next just to see where that goes.
 Gagarin737 9 points
Today I was flying FPV with this receiver. Went into failsave at 600m/0,4 mile. I was able to regain control and land safely. Now way I'll use this transmitter once more for FPV. I also bought it for the RSSI output. Unable to use it, no reply from FrSky.
 pelted 8 points
I switched to the small 4 channel Corona with SBUS and RSSI. The RSSI still doesn't work, but the range on that little thing far exceeds this FrSky, and seems to get pretty close to the Futaba. Glad you were able to land safely. I would stay away from this receiver in the future.

Where can we find information on the FrSky servo D12MB they are refering to in the description?
 WTWUK 1427 points
As of yet nowhere - it was reported that FrSky would be releasing servos. But no recent news.

Only the OrangeRX can be 'paired' to get the 14 channels. This FrSky TFR8 SB is a standalone 8/16 channel (16 channels with S.Bus) The OrangeRX cannot be paired with this one.

 WTWUK 1427 points
I made an error - the TFR8-SB will pair with the OrangeRX TFR8 S Spec. Just found it out yesterday by accident during an experiment!

good morning
I'm buying new receivers, which should I choose es or any of these?
OrangeRx Futaba FASST Compatible 8Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver S-Spec
OrangeRx Futaba FASST Compatible 8Ch 2.4Ghz Receiver
My radio is the receiver 8 Fg
While taking into account quality / price? :)
 WTWUK 1427 points
Either. But, if you buy one of each, you can 'pair' them to give you a 14 channel receiver system! Particularly useful if you have the latest 14 channel 8FG Super! I have them and they works very well indeed. They are in fact FrSky manufactured units so are of high quality.

i got this for my 450 heli with a gy750 unit. the frsky sbus rx fits nicely inside and worked flawlessly with the gy750! i couldn't believe it works so well! the plastic casing of the rx can be better but it works, so everything's good!

This one is a very good Rx to replace expensive futaba originals. Signal quality and range are basically the same and SBUS works as it is ment to work. I fly MikroKopter.de with this one and it is great

The RX works very well, but don't try to use old analog servos, ones like the HS-81, on the SBD-4 4 channel S-Bus decoder connected to your S-Bus at the TFR-8 SB. Then you will set your airplane to fire!!! But lastest digital servos will work fine with the SBD-4 and the TFR-8 SB. Juergen
