50cc~60cc Pitts Muffler (Compatible with Smoke Systems)
Nice quality polished alloy Pitts Muffler (Baffled) that is ideal for smoke systems (M5 captive nut can be plugged with a bolt if not using smoke system).
Specs: Weight: 176g Compatible: DLA 55, DM 55, RCG 50, Turnigy HP 50, etc (Bolt Spacing 40mm)
can anybody tell me the dimensions of that muffler* i am intrested especially in exhaust width opening at the place where muffler meets cylinder head
thanks
Just to be a little helpful****The outlet is in a perfect position to give a pressure outlet to the muffler pipes not the tank.Oil flow will have to begin with a dribble and gradually raised till the right amount required otherwise as you say it will all spray out if too much is coming out and not get heated**** hope this helps****Dougal the Kiwi
It's pretty nice. However the contact surface (where the muffler contacts the cylinder head ) is pretty rough. You could grind it smooth yourself or use a gasket. This should really be done in manufacturing.
It looks great and fits the DM engines perfectly.
I'm not sure about the placement of the so-called "smoke" opening. IMHO it is too far from the cylinder head.
The muffler looks like it was cast then grinded smooth and polished.

If the roughness of the contact surface was fixed it would be a five stars.

Hooked up the Sullivan Skywriter today70 mineral oil and pcnt30 kerosene. Had great success with this mixture in a previous homemade muffler.
Well forget this thing being advertised as a smoke muffler! Puked all the oil straight on the ground. Tried to speed up the pump, slow it down.......it doesn't work! Nice finish and provides an ok sound. Does fit the DM-55

Sandyjan-
A lot of folks use baby oil. The main ingredient in baby oil is mineral oil. Look at the pharmacy for mineral oil. It is much cheaper per oz. that baby oil without the heavy perfume smell. I cut the mineral oil with kerosene to thin it a bit. Some use diesel but kerosene again has less odor than diesel. 70 percent mineral oil to 30 percent kerosene seems to work best for me.
