The Spirit is a brilliant and fast mini glider with an advanced clip together construction that makes for fast assembly and easy parts replacement, it also comes with a pusher pod conversion kit (pusher motor not included) which is ideal for turning the Spirit into a mini FPV platform.
Made from tough EPO foam, the Spirit is both quick and easy to assemble, the motor and folding prop have been pre-installed and the ESC & servo's are also pre-fitted, the wings & all moving tail simply clip together and the 2 pc wing screws on, in fact it takes longer to apply the decals than build the model! For those perhaps wanting to FPV with the Spirit, the model comes with a pusher motor pod (no motor included) replacement blanking nose cone and different prop/spinner, changing configuration is fast and simple once you have assembled your own motor into the pod, potentially offering you a different way of enjoying your Spirit.
As it comes, the Spirit is a blast to fly, fast and agile with a superb off power glide, it has no bad tendencies making this great little glider easy to fly and massive amounts of fun. Small enough to be flown in the park yet fast enough to raise the pulse, the Spirit is the perfect grab n fly model, good looking, easily transported, easy to assemble, robust and and a hoot to fly, the Spirit is an awful lot of model for the money!
Features: Plug and Fly....simply add your own Reciever/Battery and fly! Fast and Simple to Assemble Choice of Tractor or Pusher Configuration Tough EPO Foam Construction Removable wing for Easy Transportation All Moving Tail for Superior Control Supplied with Tools for Assembly....no glue required! Clip Together Wings and Tail for Easy Parts Replacement Superb Flight Performance
Hi guys, i broke the folding prop today. What replacement prop do you suggest? how do i get the blades out of the old spinner? looks like a push fit pin?
Hi, somebody knows where I can download the ESC manual?
I´*m not shure, but I think that the motor break its diseable, because the propeller dont stop in the Air.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Rob.
i got this plane its great good speed flys well and I put fr-sky in my turnigy 9x and bought micro rx and put in spirit now I can fit 1000mah batt and getting good flight times yesterday I flew for 11 and half minutes and still only used 600mah I am very happy and glides well too. some of my planes
i got this plane but the motor didn't work so i changed to the pusher prop with my motor from my mini wing dragon, on my other plane i was using a 10A with a 2cell 800mah, would i be able to use a 3 cell to give it more power or would that blow my ESC
Spare motor for Spirit.
Freewing 2621 1100kv Brushless Outrunner Motor for Spirit Mini Glider. There is no motor that matches it on hobbyking.
The exact motor for this plane is available at hobbyb (do a search in google)Price $14.50
Check the link below

This seems to be a general problem with rc planes, have not idea what's causing it. try keeping abit of power on and it will turn nicely. putting some rudder in the turn aswell isnt bad. try experiement :)
Have a look at prop angle from above, looking down on plane. It should angle to the right a bit (for most planes) to counter motor torque. This may accentuate right turns
It comes with the motor in the front, you can buy another motor to convert it into a pusher, with the propeller in the back, you get everything you need to convert it except the motor
Type Shenzhen Freewing Model Co.,Ltd. in google. They are the makers of this plane and they have all the spares you need. This is the place to buy spares.
Guys,
I have my Spirit Mini ready to maiden, however the horiz. stab incidence does not look correct to me.
There seems to be a little to much "up" incidence (i.e leading edge of stab is too low).
Is the correct...how does yours look?
TIA for any thoughts.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the nano-tech comes with the XT-60 connector so would not be necessary to buy the JST adapter. I don't know if it's an important thing to keep in mind because don't know the real size for allocate the battery...
From the comments below I know that "Turnigy 800mah batteries" can be used, but can anyone give me advice about choosing between the "Turnigy 800mAh 3S 20C Lipo Pack" or the "Turnigy nano-tech 850mAh 3S 45~90C Lipo Pack". The differences in size and weight are minimal and for the price think that the extra discharge rate could be very possitive for this and other future planes.
And would be very grateful if any owner could give aproximately flight time with this batteries. I'm looking for about 15 minutes (obiously without having full throttle all the time: go up, make some acro, and let him glide style).
Very new to this hobby, and sorry for my bad english. Thank you in advance.
my flight time is around 8-13 min with close to full throttle 80% of the time. with alot of gliding you are probably looking at about 15-17 min. all this is on a 850 mah nano tech battery.
It's made to glide. 0A when gliding, maybe 8A at half throttle... enough to move it but not make it burn out fast. Especially when gliding or slope soaring.
Hallo, anyone knows if it is possible to buy the pusher motor pod alone like a spare part?
thanks

1 thumbs up!
Great little bird. Maidened in 10km/hr windy condition and still the Spirit flies well. Was being buffeted by the wind due to small size. But when you open up the throttle, it slices through the wind and gives a warmliner feel. No nasty flight characteristics... no tip stall even when I slowed to a crawl for landing.
Build quality can be improved as the stock esc's banana plug became unsoldered straight out of the box. Had to resolder that and check all other connections for weak joints.
And to answer questions about battery.... I was able to get 4 mins on a 500 mAh in the maiden. Was able to squeeze in a 3s 850 mAh, 3s 1000 mAh and even 3s 1300mAh nano. But to achieve desired CG, the bigger batteries did not seat under the canopy. Instead they have to be squeezed into area under the wing through the belly hatch. No foam removal required for bigger batteries. But bigger batteries will significantly increase wing load and will probably make the glider hoggish. Did not take that risk due to the wind. Will report back after flights with the bigger batteries.

I bought one of this almost two weeks ago (july 24th 2012) and today, 15 august, the parcel has not been send. 5-7 days of delay is reasonable but this is a shame. I contacted client support line and they are not honoring their committment.
BE AWARE, delays can reach even a whole month...!! Try to buy another model bexause this will be delayed with any other explanation.

I received my Spirit today and put it together. It went together very easily - it will probably take twice as long to put on the decals as it does to assemble the plane. I think the wing mounting design on this model us much better than the Kinetik. The wings snap together and then screw onto the fuselage. It seems much less likely to loosen up this way.
I flew it on a 3 cell 500mah battery. It had a tendency to roll to the left, but aileron trim fixed it. It flew well in light wind of 5-7mph. It had no problem with a light hand launch, it climbs well and glided very well. Since it was getting dark, I didn’t try anything more than flying circles around the field and gliding. I would definitely recommend this airplane if you are looking for a mini glider type plane. Don’t forget to order a red 2pin to XT60 adapter unless you already have XT60 plugs on your batteries. The small batteries that they recommend all come with the red 2pin connector, but the ESC is XT60.
I was able to fit and balance a 800mah 3 cell (from my old Kinetik). It fits in the battery compartment and the CG looks right. I’m a little hesitant to fly it this way since it makes the plane a lot heavier and don't want anything to overheat. Maybe I’ll give it a try on a windy day for the extra weight. Although not listed in the description here, the manual says that you c

Stll waiting HK to ship this plane that I bought on 24th of july and Today is august 17th. The expected delay announced is "3 to 5 days" but three weeks inste adiós too much. This delay is blocking the rest of the order that reach over 275usd....
Be aware of this because it will block your order for a month (at less). I think this is a shame....¡

Far behind the kinetics... the structure is more fragile, batery compartment is smaller. I can not even think in use this with a turnigy 28-26 2200 kv and a 850mah lipo just like i did with my old kinetic.....
