I bought ESC speed controller for the electric motor of the car with a remote control.
I received the shipment after waiting for 70 days and about 8 of my complaints and requests.
Unfortunately the controller came with no operating instructions, so I tried to find operating instructions on the site of HK did not find. Also you notice that when I connect the controller to the battery of 7.2 volts and connects the engine, the engine starts running immediately without a remote control command.

If your having problems once you get into rocks and roots it may be the internal bec that has browned out due to the servo overloading the system. I always recomend an external bec for any type of crawler that runs a high torque servo or runs over 2s lipos.
On the instruction sheets it says this has 2 modes, Practice and Climbing. Erm, this might be a stupid question but what does that mean? I'm running it in an FTX Carnage with the standard motor and either NiHms or 2s LiPos.
Setup in a scx10 crawler with a 55 turn motor. Runs excellent until the wheels start to get into a bind between rocks or roots etc. as soon as you hit the throttle full the esc just stops working. The truck will not move, but the led will still function as if the truck is moving. I ordered 6 of these escs. My buddy and i are both having issues with them.
No i am running 2s turnigy packs or flightmax. 4900 to 6000 mah. Lipo protection is on. Batteries are fully charged. Even after a good long run, resetting esc by turning off then back on.. My battery voltage is still at 8.0 or more.
I tried one of these in a crawler with a 35t motor, I never had the problem that you are having but it did get warm and I was wondering if it would last. You are running much larger batteries than I did and a 6000mAh is capable of supplying a very high current load so when the wheels get stuck "especially with locked diffs" the ESC draws more than its rated for and goes into thermal shutdown. I'm not sure if you waterproofed it but if you have plasti dipped or ballooned it then that will only exaggerate the problem.
I think it might have been going into thermal protection. The batteries i use are 45 to 90c so theres no lack of power being supplied. Im running a brand new esc now same as before, but it is running problem free. Even towing a 25lb weight 50' didnt even warm up the esc. Maybe some were faulty.
And i wasnt running the esc waterproofed and i actually have a esc cooling fan installed.
this esc will be used Rock Crawling..No Natural Brake. reverse or forward is accessible at any time after the RPM

Ok i took the plunge and bought six of these esc's to replace some others i had, all setup in various tamiya cars and buggies, i use lipo batteries so having the built in cut-off was a big selling point to me and at such a great price i would recommend them to anyone, easy to program. Ive been buying more and more from hobbyking, always great products and excellent prices. Keep them coming guys.
