Is this speed control waterproof?

I have an old tamiya ford escort, the stock esc has a resistor, that has no effect on this esc does it?
 meeki 925 points
Do you mean that you have an old mechanical speed control with a resistor, if you do then this esc does not require it and so it could be removed.

if i use this with a 2 cell lipo powering a 9t brushed motor will it burn out or not as many other esc's ive used didnt like the 9t motor and set on fire
 meeki 925 points
Yes, I doubt that this will handle a 9t motor. You may need to spend a bit extra and get a brand name esc that states in its specs that it can handle a 9t or lower motor.

Ok i took the plunge and bought six of these esc's to replace some others i had, all setup in various tamiya cars and buggies, i use lipo batteries so having the built in cut-off was a big selling point to me and at such a great price i would recommend them to anyone, easy to program. Ive been buying more and more from hobbyking, always great products and excellent prices. Keep them coming guys.

Install it in my old Tamiya Wild dagger truck with 2 x 540 brushed motors, and i works like a charmed, just out of the "box". The old school speed control went up in smoke. :-)

Best regards
