Protect your family and home from the hazard of lipo charging. This lipo-guard is a fireproof bag, designed to stop and contain the fire caused by incorrectly or poorly functioning lipos, especially during charging.
We urge all customers to always practice extreme caution when charging and never leave a charging battery unattended.
This pack is the small size. It is 18x22cm. It will fit three 2200mah 3S1P packs comfortably.
The LP-Guard is made from a fibreglass woven fabric. Similar to fireproof suits worn by some firefighters.
These bags are a very minimalist design. They have only one layer of fiberglass that is broken in places and isn't stitched in the corners so it does not cover the entire inside of the bad. In short, it is falling apart and I just received it. SORT OUT YOUR QUALITY CONTROL HOBBYKING!!! STOP WASTING MY MONEY!!!
Hi all, heres a short Vodeo of the Bag inside! I have recieved 7 Bags today and they are all fine inside! No stitching or someting else! Very well made! Ordered from Euro Warehouse!
Besser gehts fast nicht bei diesem Preis, es kaum ein Unterschied in der Verarbeitung zu den teueren Modellen zu finden die man auf dem Markt so findet. Der kauf lohnt! Es gilt Brä*nde zu verhindern!
Ahh, that explains the itchiness I got in parts of my hand that I'd shoved in the bag. I didn't know about it before but I guess it is still a minor issue with them.
I bought mine only a couple of weeks ago. It's not a big issue to me and I only even noticed it on one of the 2 I've used so far. You could probably avoid it pretty much altogether by rubbing around the interior with a rag to break loose any fibres and give it a good shake out.
oh my god... the fiberglass is annoying and PAINFUL!!
When I got it a while back, it was fine, but after a month of use, the shards came loose, whenever I use my LiPos I am left poking myself suddenly whenever i touch something for another 2 hours!
I had a couple of those for 2 years and it's true that there are shards inside that hurt the skin on my palms... Shaking out loose fibres is no good, as there will be more and more fibres getting loose as the time passes.
What I did is reinforce it inside with 3M adhesive tape - now it's easier to remove the lipos and its no longer painful :)
These still have the fiberglass shards problem, so just get help from your friend gravity, or stitch a linen bag in it and get rid of the problem once and for all.
Sometimes they do have shards, sometimes your lucky and get a bag without any. If you do have them, just wash the bag out with water and let it dry completely. Problem solved!
If you are unsure about the glass shards thingy, just cover the inside of the bags with ducktape as mentioned elsewhere around. I'd say you should do that anyway, it's a pretty simple modification and it makes the bags a lot nicer to handle. Batteries slide much easier in and out.
Iv got 5 bags and my friend has 4 not one had any resisue or "fibres" deffinately worth buying for the price if you get a dodgy one buy another maybe a bad batch or something???
I have had mine for about 6 months and started getting fiberglass shards in my hand. Not a good feeling.
Looks cool with the sun reflecting off the glass in my hand... but hurts like hell.
No, the battery doesn't heat up, or overheat in this pack and if the battery explode it won't fire up, but give a lot of smoke instead.
I recommend you buy one, they're so cheap and is very good safety for your battery.
- Credit if my answer was the best :)
No. The amount the battery heats up is very small when being charged and will hardly heat up the bag at all. I should point out (It will seem obvious to many but it does happen) that it is important not to put the charger in the bag as well
If your pack is geting hot in the charge you should try with lower current. Anyway maybe your pack reach a cuople of degres more but no big deal, and the sack dosnot avoid the fire or explotion risk, avoid the damage or firing up toyoir car or your house...
It decreases the chance of fire. It's made of glass fibre so it is fireproof. In case you lipo catches on fire, it will deprive the fire of oxigen, because the lipo is confined within
no, normal batteries dont get heat up during charge. it will however decrease your risk of setting other stuff around the battery on fire in case the battery goes bad
In a way you are correct, but only if your battery is bad or being charged improperly, in which case you should be happy that you are using the charge case to contain any problems you may have. Batteries charging should not have any significant rise in temperature if using proper charge rate and good condition battery.
Nimh batteries do heat up, don't use this sack for those. This is for Lipo Batteries, and lipo should not get hot. definitely use a sack when charging or storing lipo. there is not a huge chance of starting on fire, but it does happen!
If your battery is getting hot during charging then you need to reduce the amps you charge at, your battery will last way longer if you charge slower anyway. I even store my batteries in my lipo bag when in storage
when you want to store it safe, than is it better with 2 smale, (becouse, when a lipo start burning, it does not burn all).
But when you want transport your lipos it's easyer to handle a larger bag than 2 small bags!
I use the smallest sack possible to keep the battery secure (rather than sloshing around) and the minimum possible amount of oxygen in the bag! just in case the worst happens.
I would indeed go for the smaller sacks. no need for big baggs and you dont want more lipos in the same sack. if 1 burns out you wont loose the rest in different sacks
parfait ! bonne taille mais l'int?rieur au niveau de la fermeture a tendance ? s'effilocher dans le temps..
If the customer is satisfied with your answer they may click and credit your account with 20c.
Actually bags are rated by mah to contain possible explosion. Big batteries stuffed into small sack is not how they were designed to be used. I doubt hobby king rates their sacks but the name brand companies all do. So if you want a bag rated for high mah battery and safety is your primary concern then get bigger bag. Smaller bags, yes they are more convenient.
Depends on what batterys you have, I can fit 2 6s 3300mah batterys in a small one, so you don't need large one unless you have bigger battery to charge
depends on your battery size if u have a big battery it is not a bad thing to have the bag biger than the battery, but if u where planing to by one big one to put two batteries in one bag is not a good thing because the bags are dizined to put out one battery on fire. pluse if u put two batterys in one bag what do u think will happen if u have one battery catch fire then u other battery will catch fire as well. not a good thing to put to batterys in one bag. and yes two bags r better than one i
I chose two small ones instead of one big for the same reasons already mentioned here. Put all in one bag and only one has to go bad to destroy all of them.
I got one of these to my turnigy nanotech 5.3 with the removable wires on the top, and it's a litle tricky to fit it inside the bag when charging. So i would advise to buy the bigger bag if you have lipo's like i mine.
Received two of this yesterday and had a very bad surprise, when I slid my hand on one of them I was dive by fiverglass, it hurts and I still have fibers in my hand so far. didn't tryed the second.
What can I do to fix this? I do not want to use them to not have fibers on my lipos then on myself again.
You could use tape and glue to hold the fibers out of the way or use a plastic bag to hold the lipo and leave the top so you can pull it out without putting your hand in the bag. The lipo bag will still stop any fires the only difference will be some melted plastic in the event of a fire.
I also discovered the defect, pasted to the package an additional shell, which now protects the hand from the glass. Ignite additional package should not - do not have enough air, only fused. A further such packages will not buy.
Exactly the same happened to me. I have learned to keep my hands out of the bags. It is quite easy once you are used to it.
Also if you have Velcro on the batteries, keep that side away from the hook side of the bag's flap.
The material that this is made of (inside) raw fiberglass is very dangerous to skin. If it isnt too late i reccomend going to a doctor to have you hand examined. Fiberglass shards are very dangerous. Anyways the lipos are okay to put into the bag, and will not collect the fibers and wont get on your hand. With mine i just lower it in carefully from the wires. then shake the battery out. avoid contact.
The fibers don't stick to the Lipos. Your hands and arms however they will. I either turn my lipo bag upside down and slide the lipos out or I grab both of the discharge wires and put them out.
i reccomend going to a doctor to have you hand examined. Fiberglass shards are really dangerous when they come along with your body. however the lipos are okay to put into the bag, and will not collect the fibers and wont get on your hand.
Just receive one and those nasty fiberglass hairs are still there! My hands itch even after an hour and a several hand washes www.link already have another two lipo bags and never thought there could be something wrong with them, unfortunately I was mistaken. By the way, Turnigy lipo bag www.link is fine with no glass hairs inside. Next time I'll buy turnigy bag
Ducktape works just fine to cover the fiberglass weave.
I would recommend lining the inside with ducktape directly when you receive the bags, it's a simple modification (turn bag inside-out, cover with ducktape, turn back rightside in) and a lot less chances of glass shards.
I? not sure if this bag will fit two or tree batterys, anyway for that price you can buy three bags and keep one battery in each bag, so if some battery fail will not burn the others. Beside if that size of batterys get fire simultaneously, none bag will contain that fire!!!
Use one bag for each battery, dont take risks!!
It is like this Bacter, Lipos can catch on fire during charge and discharge. This is more so when you have had a crash or the battery has been through a few cycles. So it does this bag will save you Shed House or Garage. It does not mean you should leave you battery unattended.
Lithium batteries offer high discharge rates and a high energy storage/weight ratio. Lipo batteries are made out of Lithium a high flammable metal also - Charging any kind of battery produces heat and if your battery has any kind of damage - due to a crash or over heat - it is possible to explode and burn - You can find more info here - www.link - .
So the bag is a high strenght container to protect you, your car and your house during LiPo charging.
Once I got a NiMH exploded, and LiPO-s are even more dangerous, IF YOU CHARGE NOT THE RIGHT WAY. Since that time I only charge in LiPO bag. So if you like your home, and do not want fire fighting in you own bedroom, you definatelly need one :-)))
You need a lipo sack because if the lipo happens to be defective or damaged and starts to puff and maybe even catch on fire the sack will contain the worst of the damage
these lipo bags should be used in conjuntion with close monitoring of your batteries while charging. they will prevent a fire from spreading and burning down your house or shop but you still need to monitor the batteries while being charged
*bacter, you don't necessarily need these. Other alternatives would be an empty ammo box or even a tin can as long as you make sure you don't get your packs shorted. Or just use anything that would contain any fire that would occur.
If you obey the main rules of lipo you Shouldn't need them. Those rules are that you must not puncture, drop, overheat, short , overcharge, or undercharge your lipos. Lipos are safe only if you make them safe, but for the price of the bag it is cheap insurance if any thing does happen.
Love these bags. Just received 3 more, only had 1.
Just want to mention that 2 of the 3 matched the quality of the first, slightly shiny outside and more dark ochre than yellow ochre coloured warning patch.
More importantly however, when I slid my hand in the yellow ochred bag I was instantly stabbed and slivered with fibres from the fibreglas cloth inside!!! [ I'm still itchy and bothered! ]
So, something has gone wrong here* either the cloth is inferior, or it was sewn wrong side out!
I have checked, and re-checked this, and I'm not mistaken* the good bags have a silky smooth surface inside the bag, with no glas slivers attacking your skin.
Love the good bags... 5 crowns for them, but,
3 crowns for the misfit
Who else got one of the bad ones?
Next time do not brush your skin over fibreglass, you are asking for trouble, unless you know it's coated or made from long fibres. the one you received is most likely made from short "left over" fibres. do not touch non gel coated fibreglass products too.
This happens to me too, the batteries FROM the bags have fibres on them, this is normal, just try not to put your hand in it. Vacuum clean the inside and u shud be gud to go.
PLEASE people do not put your hand into these or any lipo bags open them up and have a look but there is no need to put your hand inside fibreglass is uncomfortable on the skin letalone being poked into ou skin. Batteries are not affected by loose fibres inside the bags
Within a month doesnt hold. Of course there are demand, 50% (200 items) of the DE warehouse is Lipo packs. Majority of the rest of the items are aircraft.
hanafi, have you ever seen this lipo sack available in DE warehouse ? I wated years, still not available in DE warehouse. IS there a demand ? sure. i'd buy 10-20 bags myself. Dont you find it odd DE warehouse sell hundreds of lipos, and not ONE lipo safe bag(sack?) ?
hanafi, thats ok no prob. did use live chat, forum etc. HK dont listen *( will give it a new try as you mentioned it anyway. Just find it stupid not to have this in DE warehouse, as its practically halfway from china-us ya know. Like every other item.
And another question, why do you need to ask that question, look at the original question I asked.
I might combine items from DE warehouse (like a lipo pack and lip bag) and CANNOT combine warehouses on an order. One'd have to order these lipo safe bags separately, from other warehouse. Would actually love to order one bag per lipo, and have Hobbyking ship lipo pack in the lipo bag..that'd be responsible and safe shipping *)
I got it home and it looks pretty tight. Explosion should endure. :-)

The larger lipo sack it too big and not handy to use also the shipping weight is much more so they do not sell as many. One tip on any charging bag, get a longer balance tap plug because most batteries come with short balance tap plug. The bottom of the small bag is 9 inches so you need a longer balance tap plug or the lipo will just fit under the flap and not go down in the bag.
Hi i_fly, the small LiPo bag is the most PRACTICLE and the most POPULAR of the two charge packs. The cheaper jumbo bag price is designed to move more stock. I have both bags and use the small for charging and the large bag for storage and transportation of LiPo batteries. The small bag will fit inside the big bag. Charge packs are strong and the velcro is good. Great product* great price. Good luck :)
The material is the same for large and small lots. for the great shipping costs a little bit more, as a lot of management I think are equal, the greater is very useful to have more features lots of small
1) can pick up more batteries for transport
2) holds a small bag with battery inside
3) can hold many small batteries.

i dont know if the fridg works but i have allready try it in two of my batteries and it still rocks again abaut the bag of course you can use it in the fridge
No need to put them in your fridge. Just fill the bag and put them where no one will play with them and you will be fine. I set my lipos on the bookcase until I need them. After two years of doing this I have never had any problems with mine.
Yes you can use this bag for storage. It will not contain all flames from an explosion, thus the statement on the bag to place on non-flammable surfaces (an ammunition box is good). For long term storage (beyond a couple of weeks) charge your batteries to 3.8 volts per cell after last use, and store at 0-25 C (so the fridge is fine if that is where you want to store them). I use mine every couple of weeks so I leave a full charge and store at room temperature where my son cannot get to them.
If a lipo burn, burn the bag but also takes more time and minimize the damage. The bag is recommended and is a helpful but not infallible.
If you want lipo batteries stored for a long time, it is best to do a half load, stuck in the bag and place in which if there is no risk burn
Ok this might explain the fridge thing. When you buy you lipo they can hold 100pcnt of what there rated but if you need to store them for a year for example, in room temp it will hold 85pcnt , in a fridge 90pcnt, in a freezer 95pcnt , frozen mabe 100pcnt but the colder you store them the more power you will get out of them when you take them out of storage.
The best use of these bags is to charge Lipo, Lipo in a house or store in a cool, Transport lipo in the car, keep Lipo for a long time, and put a lipo for each bag.(from:Campovolo)
It's a good size. I have ordered six over past year and found size is perfect to keep packs sorted etc. Note, the larger one is heavier. Check postage cost.

These are ****, I would advise not buing them. They are full of microscopic fibreglass shards that will stick in your skin and itch like crazy for days.
Probably soon I would say, but they always seem to go REALLY fast. I had it set on email alert and was lucky and saw it come in and ordered right away, within an hour or so it was BK'ed again.
This product seams to come in stock very sporadic. And if it comes in stock it's gone very fast due to a lot of backorders.
A few weeks ago I had an order which I did not need immediately and had some shipping weight left to fill. So I added this while it was on backorder. I was lucky to get one, because when the mail arrived that my order is now complete I checked the HK website and those charge packs where already on BK.
Add this product in your wishlist, as soon as they come in stock you will receive an email. Then rush in order to buy before they go in backorder again.

Hobby-king usually stocks items back within 30 days as their policy however in most instances this isn't the case. Maybe try asking a customer service rep via the live chat. Hope this helps !

Hello,
I want to ask something... Do HK sells smaller ones that can fit only 2 2200mah packs??
Cause i have a bad experience with lipo burning in flight, causing half of my plane toasted....:(
Thank you
There is a 23x14cm size one also but i guess you need something to use on flight. Since many batt size vary it is not much possible to find something you exactly want. Anyway you can buy this or the other and cut sew in the size you like i think. This is the cheapest price around.
Also i guess you need to reconsider your idea to use a LiPo safe in the air. What you had experienced is a very rare event and you must have done something very very wrong or very very unlucky to receive a defective item.
Just research internet for LiPo using "rules" and follow them. This bag is to eliminate the risk completely when charging batt unattendant.
I don't know of any battery sack suitable for use in any vehicle. They are an envelope shape for general use. The smaller sack holds 2 batteries snugly and yet the over all size is much larger than the packs. If they are out there, they would be model specific due to the different variations of battery compartment shapes. You may have to make your own out of one of these charging sacks. Be informed on your pack's condition before you run them. Check for a puffy feel, and make sure they are prope

i don't think you will find a bage that will work in flite. and having a bag in flite will cause the' batterie to get hotter as it wont be able to get wind past it.

wHEN CHARGING WITH THESE BAGS, THE EXTENSION BALANCE LEADS (AVAILABLE VERY CHEAP FROM HOBBY KING )ARE INVALUABLE TO KEEP THE CHARHER AWAY FROM THE AIR HOLES WHEN THE BAG IS SEALED DURING CHARGING, WELL DONE HK.
These are invaluable. I just had my first lipo fire. Lost three batteries charging in a coffee cup and nearly the whole house. I watch numerous vids of lipos blown up in these bags and there is no safer way to go. I bought four and can now charge not worrying if my house is going to burn down.
the fiberglass cloth in these is very co**** and the ends are cut. You have to be careful or you will get fiberglass fibers in you VERY easily.

I think this item saved my house from burning down. I had a lipo explode while charging. This bag contained the fire so it was a lot easier to exstinguish. DO NOT leave your lipos charging unattended. It's not worth the chance.
The last batch of these bags were white not the usual silver.

Absolutely great! I would have preferred to have purchased the larger sized one but it was out of stock. However, I can still fit 5-6 3s2100 lipos in this puppy but it's a bit tight!
Pros: - Great product for protecting your investments! - Great price! - Fits about 5 3s2100 lipos!
Suggestions: - Get the larger bag if you have more than 5 lipos (it's easier to carry one larger bag than 2 smaller ones) - Added a handle to mine and would recommend that it is an added feature in the future (Nylon school bag straps works great!)

6 thumbs up!
I ordered one of each size, both delivered within 9 days wich I consider rather quick for such a low shipping cost. Luckily I haven“t tested them with lipo fire yet :)
I have however compared them with a similar product of another brand, and these bags seems equal in material, but have far better seams and welcro. Not to mention the price my two UH bags delivered in Norway cost less than half of the other bag..
The large bag easily fits 5 3s 1800mah lipos and 4 3s 1000mah lipos. The small one fits 4-5 3s 1800 or 4 3s 1000 mah as well as 4 3s 300mah and 1 3s 400mah.
A positive side effect is that I sleep better at night with my lipos in these bags!

Good sack, same as more expensive sacks. Good quality stitching all around the sack. I got 2 sacks for this price and threw them in as extra weight on an aeroplane kit I ordered. I do not know why people are storing more than 1 lipo in the sack? If one goes, I'm sure the rest would? Thanks for my sack.
