how to connect the wheel to this landing gear do i need to drill a hole in the landing gear or what ?
 aJS32 281 points
Yes, you need to drill a hole in the bottom side of landing gear. Next you will need to use landing gear axle (like this ID: OR016-02201x5). Put it into the drilled hole and tighten with nut. On the axle part put your wheel and fix it with landing gear stop (like this ID: 016-00303x10). Regards

Does anyone know the width overall? Assuming the gear are mounted together under fuse?
 dando 93 points
If both gear halves are mounted next to each other with no distance between them, the fuse in this area needs to be 60mm or wider.

Thank you for answering my question, but I guess I worded it wrong. I meant how wide is the total width of the gear from axil mount to axil mount. This again is assuming that the top mounting areas are together. It's worth another .20, whoopy!
 dando 93 points
Hey! Now I got it. It's pretty close to 230mm. I hope this helps!
 Ek-trician 307 points
That's what I needed, thanks! These are for the HK Pilatus Porter. The "scale" gear is #%>!. I'm trying to keep it light as a good STOL should be. They need tough gear for banging around on rough runways in the outback. Now I just need som 3" soft balloon wheels I can't find anywhere! Happy flying!

of Carbon Fiber Landing Gear 150mm . Which part to landing gear measures 150mm ?
 Greg 66 points
It is measured from the flat mount plate directly down to the ground surface, so basically a 150mm clearance from mounting plate to ground. Very good landing gear.

Does anyone know the actual height of this gear is once the rearward rake is taken into account? I expect it is less than 150mm, just as the 160mm gear is a good bit less than 160.

Will these support a 4 Kilogram aircraft???

How do you mount them on the plane?
 dando 93 points
Hello! You could mount those gear legs with bolts and lock nuts or blind nuts in the wood. Here are a few pictures for reference. Remove the spaces in the link: h t t p : / / w w w .wattflyer . c o m /forums/showpost.php?p=542688&postcount=21

20 thumbs up!
I'm a bit sceptic about these gears. When I took them out of the box I got suprised cause they are very small. I bought them for a 1,8kg electric 3D plane but they seam to be small. At the wheel side they are only 10mm wide - think about it, if you drill a 3-4mm hole, you only have 3,5-3mm besides the hole... That's not an insurance for a little bit bouncy touchdown. Hope they have some fiberglass in them to make CF a bit flexible. The photo is a bit misleading... Sorry guys, but this is only my point of view, could be great for lighter planes.

19 thumbs up!
The product is of excellent quality but because of the sharp rake when mounted it is totally unsuitable for my YAK54 40e.

The product description should list this specification.

Regards

Hank

9 thumbs up!
Nice piece of "carbon art".
I use them under 1,1 kilo 3D model
It is good quality but for harrier landings is suitable to make an X connection with 0,60 mm fishing line.

Than works perfect !

Regards,

P.

Great landing gear, light, and stiff. I use it for my Slow Stick as a replacement for the very soft stock landing gear.
