What is the Shaft Dia? Dimension for "A" in the config table is blank?
 Abhilekh 80 points
Hello Keir, this motor comes with a 3mm shaft. Enjoy!

Can this be used as a replacement motor for the Extra 300??
 Abhilekh 80 points
Hey Millzye, I think it works just fine for Extra 300 3D version.

What about using 1cm aluminium box tube or 1cm square wooden peg/rod. 1cm or so through the square motor mount then a few cm sunk in to the foam glued with Gorilla glue, I did that on my old epo Foam super cub. :)
for mounting on a fire wall on my 3d edge shock flyer this is what Did: using 1cm aluminium box tube. cut a 4cm length, about 1cm goes in to the mount (don't forget a hole for a grub screw on top of the heat sink mount) Cut down 2cm along the corners (like cutting a cross when looking in to the box tube so you can bend the 4 sides 90 degrees. Drill a hole in each you have your motor mount for your fire wall. :)
 Abhilekh 80 points
hello Anjay. I think you could have gotten rid of this labor if you just had replaced the heat sink with a standard motor mount. However for a prop mount configuration, prop wash is enough for a good convective cooling for the motor. Such a mount often spreads misgivings and confusion. However, to retain this mount, your process is just perfect. CF may have been a lighter and attractive alternative, though.
Konrad  2 points - 5/4/2013

how to fix this motor for example in a piece of foam? no idea how to do it...
 Anjay 33 points
My suggestions above :)
 Abhilekh 80 points
Konrad, please follow as Anjay says above. You could choose Carbon Fiber tube/Aluminum tube as you wish. Just the difference, make sure you have enough overhanging length of the tube left. Now melt the foam very carefully to the outer dimension(maybe a bit less for a tighter fit) and insert it in with epoxy for CF (if chosen). Please NOTE, there's nothing powerful to adhere Aluminum with foam. You may wish to try Foam Safe epoxy for that, but that won't be lustrous. Hope that helps :)

can i replace this motor mount with HXT 8mm motor mount ?
 Abhilekh 80 points
Hi Damha.... yes, give it a try. That's a simpler way to mount and get rid of the heat sink as well :D

Is there any way to mount this on a quad? Please give me some ideas, I will credit the best one.Thank you !
 chadbag 4 points
I plan on using zip ties across the mount to use on a quad. Have not tried it yet but that is the plan.
 chadbag 4 points
On the F330, the zip ties did not work so well. I was feeding them through some of the holes and around both sides of the motor shaft. Hard to get super tight. Some motors I got tight and some had a slight looseness to them and would vibrate. If I wanted to modify the F330 frame some I think it would work, or was putting them directly on square booms (like the V2.5 rcexplorer tricopter) it might work better with the zip ties. I will use these on a slow stick 3-motor plane I am working on, and use the motors I had originally bought for that plane, which have "normal" mounts, for the F330.

Is there any other way to mount this motor guys?....I want to mount it onto a firewall, any ideas guys?
 Gary 3064 points
This is supplied with a stick mount so you will need to glue a square stick of hardwood to your firewall, best to cut a square hole in the firewall, push the stick through and depending on the model if it has a second former glue it to this and the firewall for extra strength.
 Jack xD 19 points
Is it not better to just get a better mount? Now,can I use some other mounth for this rather than the troublesome square idea?
 Gary 3064 points
Not that I am aware of,only seen some firewall mounts which are fitted to other motors, never seen anything that is sold seperately unless anyone else knows of anything that will fit.
 maxduca63 130 points
simply change motor...this motor is designed for stick mount. if you need firewall one you have to search motor with this type of interface. on the other hand you need to workout a solution which could be a machined aluminum plate with a collet for motor holding buy it cost more than the motor!!!unless you have the ability and time to do it by yourself with a lathe...

Would this motor be ok for a quadcopter ?
 Catalin-Nicolae 11 points
I found that it can.Now I would like to know if I can use it with only 10A ESC ?
Epic man  161 points - 4/7/2013

The dimension of the square hole is 10x10 mm
Dimon  38 points - 3/1/2013

What weight of the "stick mount"? And what are the dimensions of square hole in this "stick mount"?
 Epic man 161 points
10mm x 10mm
zev  5 points - 1/26/2013

it will be a little less power full, but it should work just fine. credit please.
Anjay  33 points - 1/5/2013

Will this be a good replacement motor for the piper pa-18 super cub A21 motor (same as the Dynam version) or is it to small?
 Epic man 161 points
Probably too small

Will this work with a quadcopter?
 nigel 22 points
yes they will , stick with the 1100 kv version, i am running on 2s , i mistakenly order 11x4.7 props which was too big for this motor.but they run fine lots of trust , way more that 700g and they bearly get warm, im using hobbywing 15-18 amp esc .waiting to try them on 3s
 Catalin-Nicolae 11 points
Well, then how did you mount it on the quad? It has a terrible mount for quad, it doesn't help at all this type of mount.
karan  396 points - 6/12/2012

plz tell me where can i get that tiny screw??? one that is on mount...
 dollop@mail.ru 77 points
It's easier to drill a 2-3mm hole instead...

Works fine on 3s, 8x6 prop, more than 600 grams of thrust.
 Kellyann 16240 points
sashaNar thanks for the INFO. I is guys like you that make this place work.

This is kind of a newbie question, But I am thinking about buying a new setup. I'm kinda thinking about the AX 2308n 1800 kv, the AX 2308n 1100 kv, the AX2306n 2000kv and the AX 2306n 1300kv. What is the difference between these motors? and which one would be the most powerful on a 2s setup? I will give credit for a good response.
 Ebuli 66 points
The kv-value gives you an estimate on how fast the prop will turn. For a fast and light plane choose the motor with highest kv (AX2306n 2000kv). high kv motors are run with smaller propellers. If you have a slower and heavier plane, choose a motor which turns slower but can handle a bigger prop without overheating (AX 2308n 1100 kv). So for a parkplane you can choose 1100-1300 kv motor. For faster planes, take the 2000-1800. Remember to check the propsize you should be using with the motor.

What size 3 bladed prop should I use on a 3s set up?
 dollop@mail.ru 77 points
7x3.5 works great for me. (used them on my quad copter)
 maxduca63 130 points
also 8x3,4
 Catalin-Nicolae 11 points
How did you guys mount this on the quad? I have no idea how to mount it using a 10x10 stick.A photo would be great.Thank you!
 maxduca63 130 points
never mounted on quad (quadcopter???) by the way if you fix four sticks on the structure than you can mount the motor on...too much simple???
Syed Saad  13 points - 3/19/2011

Help me out What ESC should i use with these motors? And secondly what is the thrust would i get from single motor? Thanks in Advance.
 vikas 6 points
you have to use TURNIGY Plush 10amp 9gram esc with this motor
 dollop@mail.ru 77 points
I use this motors with this esc www.link with 3S and prop is 8x5 - thrust 350g. So the esc should be not less than 10A, 12A is better. Use it with props from 7x3.5 to 9x5 and get the thrust 300-450g
 N926OD 6 points
I used a 20A esc and an 8*6 prop .
 orimv 1 points
I suggest using 20A ESC because when my 8x4 prop during landing for moment suddenly stopped in high grass 10A ESC immediately burned.
propjobbill  56 points - 9/18/2009

I put one of these on a 10 oz foam airplane with a 800mh 2 cell battery it gave me good performance. When I just flew it at about 1/2 throttle it gave me a 22 minute flight
 propjobbill 56 points
This was done with a 7x6 GWS prop, these are great little motors
 Syed Saad 13 points
Hey prop.... What ESC u have used with these motors?
 propjobbill 56 points
I used the HobbyKing 8 = 10 amp ESC
 vagos2511 2 points
I bought two motors like those and i use two Hobbyking SS Series 25-30A ESC with 3A ubec . After 30 seconds with throttle in half they are ready to burned. I have already cut the red wire. Can anyone tell me why this happened? www.link

22 thumbs up!
Ordered 3 of these as an alternative to the TowerPro 2408/21. Quality seems to be good.

Here are my Results:
- 18A TP ESC, 3S 2250 Dualsky lipo
- GWS 7x3.5, 250gr thrust, 5.5A
- GWS 8x4, 480gr thrust, 8A
- GWS 9x4.7, 500gr thrust, 9.5A (motor gets very hot).

so not as much thrust as the TP2408/21, but good enough for a small parkflyer ...

Greetings Markus

5 thumbs up!
Specs seem somewhere around a 1300kv BW.

Although around 10 grams heavier and half price with included mount.

Awesome performance on a TowerPro 9g w12A,Mystery 2s 900mah spinning a SF E-Prop 8x6.
Used on a couple of GPW designs.

The price is right.

I is stalled one of these on a 10 oz foam airplane, it replaced a geared motor. I got twice the power and twice as long of a flight. The plane in question is located at www.link
It is the orange plane It flies for about 22 minutes in 10 to 12 mph winds with a 2 cell 800mh Lipo battery am well pleased with this little motor and recomend for small light weight planes
