I have a 330mm quad running 1600kv motor on 8x4 prop with 12Amp ESC, will this battery be a good fit? Thanks

Can I use the battery in i for my rc plane?
 Daredee 47 points
it depends of size of your plane
 Tanya 113 points
of course you can
Pooping panda  6 points - 2/12/2013

I have a traxxas 1/16 slash and was wondering if I should get this battery or the 40c one. Any thoughts?
 Jed 7 points
I use this battery in the 1/16 truck and it works great. I'm not sure the 40C one would fit would it? The only difference you MIGHT notice is a little more punch, but most folks wouldn't notice that.
William  5 points - 1/31/2013

When will this battery be in stock again. It has been out of stock for 4 weeks already!
giovanni  12 points - 12/1/2012

Sono buonissime le zippy. Le ho gia usate a molti modelli in mio possesso e devo dire sono compatti e indistruttibili. Grazie hobby king.
john  18 points - 8/13/2012

This or turnigy?
 traxxrc11 346 points
I'd recommend turnigy, its more long lasting
 daniel 373 points
depends really. If i were using it for gusty high amp use then id go with turnigy. If its for normal to easy use then go with the zippy. Both are great batteries but i find the turnigy are slightly more robust and hold a longer lifespan under rugged use. Hope this helps!
 Woncheol 1 points
It's good for 1/16
 Daredee 47 points
I like turnigy more, but zippy cost less
 Kyle 1 points
ive had these batteries about a year.(2 of them) and they are still running great! love em. i use them in my revo vxl and it will do standing backflips on demand! haha i can get ~40min of fun on them when i run them in parallel.
 Vitor 1 points
I buy 3 of this lipo about a year and it´s very good for the money coasting it´s good for 1/10. I recomended!
Ebiker  160 points - 3/3/2012

Does Zippy use proper silicon wire like Turnigy or just the soft imitation?
 brian 39 points
Zippy uses the same material as turnigy. I find the zippy to have better quality wiring and wrap
BEST ANSWER CREDIT AWARDED
 Ebiker 160 points
Ok thanks. Normally I buy Turnigy but need bunch of lipos so thinking of getting Zippos because they're bit cheaper. I have some small Zippies for planes and they're ok so hope the 2.2 are just as good.
 Nathaniel 7 points
Honestly they are the same the only difference is in dimensions and weight of the packs.
 Mike Sanders 1 points
I can't tell the difference between them except for the label.
 Ebiker 160 points
One thing I've noticed that when these 2.2A Zippies get discharged the cells are quiet unbalanced. My Turnigies don't do that. How ever so far I got 20 cycles on the Zippies and they work just fine regardless.

Do hobbyking now supply and solder plugs??
 gunpower 25 points
Nope they don't , but gold connector's just to easy to solder *)
 Fabio Nunes Lopes 6 points
Comprei duas e não tenho mais problemas
 taths 13 points
It is much easier to stick new gold connectors
 Sivorius 27 points
This pack comming with soldered XT60 connector on it. You just need male XT60 on your ESC to use it.
 sfantu 1 points
or you could change to deans.they are smaller than xt60 and support 40a
 Vincenc 1 points
No HK don't solder plugs. but they are selling all cind of adapters to fit xt60 conector and almoust any conector u have on esc. Id mybe u have traxxas conector u should buy www.link buy xt60 male conector I belive xt60 connector are the best u can buy

I do on all of my RC car's , solder gold connector's easy to solder *)then you put the plastic hosing around it and there secure and save from short circuit , Regards, Tim.

bullet conectors are the best
 Gertjan 1 points
i use traxxas everywhere, they are easy to solder, because you can pop the pins out. and the wont melt with high voltage or amps.
 erick 6 points
i use trx connectors on everything. they are very easy to solder and work great.
 CHUMCHAL72 1 points
Traxxas r the best that's what I use
JREUING  22 points - 3/29/2011

Thanks for the info, just wonder how hard it would be to solder plugs on batteries, is there a connector, such as a Traxxas Female Plug to Male Deans Plug Adaptor?? JR
 Fabio Nunes Lopes 6 points
Muito boa
 1ndyt1n 2 points
yup hobbyking has, mine i cut off the connector and soldered with a traxxas connector. they worked fine
 Sivorius 27 points
It's not harder as solder on ESC or other cables. Just needs more accurancy to prevent short circuit during soldering. And of course you could use adaptors to change connector type.
Battery itself already have The XT60 connector.
 Vincenc 1 points
if u have traxxas plug on esc, and u don't want to solder enything you shoud buy www.link u buy one male xt60 conector and solder it on esc it's realy not to hard. and the xt60 conectors are realy nice to use and good materials
RTF & RTC Ace 21 points
I am using the deans connectors on my batteries and HK sells a great version of them; located at www.link If you don't want to change your battery leads you can can also buy or make an adapter. Soldering is simple and straight forward.
 ilya 1 points
cut the original trx connectros they bad solder new xt60 connector the selling here they strong cheep and good need help soldering im here !
 Alex 8 points
Just make sure you have a good soldering iron. it makes the whole process easier.
 CHUMCHAL72 1 points
Yea just search adapters for what ur looking for
JREUING  22 points - 3/28/2011

Do these batteries fit a traxxas mini e-revo brushless and if so what about the connectors, must they be changed to be compatible with Traxxas plugs?? jr
 bikebcarrell 56 points
They fit great, I bought 4 of them for my mini revo. The plugs need to match your rig. If it's a stock Traxxass then you'll either have to switch the plug on you batteries or on your revo. . They have a great soldering iron here. www.link cheap and easy to learn.
 gunpower 25 points
Yes they realy fit great, but watch out your car can go fast! when you put an brushless motor in it , constant wheeli

 1ndyt1n 2 points
yup they fit perfectly in the erevo battery compartment, you just have to cut a small portion of the battery cover for the cable. hobbyking has a adapter for traxxas connector. but mine i cut off the connector and soldered with a traxxas connector.
 Vincenc 1 points
The batterias work great. 3s lipo ia absolutly too much I tested :) and vith one of those 2s the run time should be about 40min. I bought male xt60 conector and solder it on esc, because I'm gona always use this batteries. Or u can buy this an put on esc traxxas www.link should work perfect vith no soldering
 rcfune 36 points
Yes not proble, I uesd this in my trex 600ESP for reciever, I change the plug to the JST, only.
And works great.
 erick 6 points
yes they work great but you will have to modify the battery door slightly.
 CHUMCHAL72 1 points
Yes just gotta trim battery door a little

Can anyone tell me the best tip for charge one or two battery´s at the same time(with adaptor board XH iMax B6) with an imax b6??? 0,3amp?0.5? i havent charged them yet...Thanks
 gunpower 25 points
1 will be best, so youre charger only have to worry balancing on 1 lipo battery
 Mactabak 138 points
You will need 2 things. A connector to connect both batteries in series to give you a 4s pack & something to make a 4s connector from your 2s charge sockets (JST), then you could connect it to your B6 as a 4s, 2200maH pack.

Bateria muito boa. Esta em atendendo em todos os pontos
 Cynopheus 48 points
0.3-0.5 amps is a slow charge. I usually go for 0.9-1 C. So, you could charge this battery with 2.2 amps in one hour without any problems.
 chris 3 points
You can buy what is called a paraboard. It will allow you to hook both batteries to your charger and charge them as a 4400 nah battery. I have one that I got on HK for about $20

How to I make this capable with my traxxas mini e-revo? What kind of converter do I have to buy?
 Darby 14 points
Just get the traxxas plugs and soder them on thats it
 VladiLOL 23 points
you have several options the best is to buy a traxxas battery conector, cut out the connector that the bat came cith and solder the traxas conector, or if you can`t then you do that there is the chance to put a XT60 conector on your REVO or you just simply buy a XT60 to traxxas convertor. I hope that info helps you :) I actualy use thos with a DEANS "T" conector with a "T" tp traxxas conversor because all my bats have a "T" type conector.
 Brutis 264 points
Buy the same plugs that come on the mini erevo and soilder them on to the zippy lipo
 reno911 55 points
The only thing you would need to do is get a traxxas plug to solder, that and possibly cut your battery door a bit to let the wires have some room to play.
 Troy 12 points
This battery fits just fine in the Mini Revo VXL. The only modification that you'll have to make is to cut the end of the battery door so that the wires have a place to exit. I'm completely satisfied with this battery.
 mutlu444 12 points
im using one traxxas female plug and ec3 paralel plug ( hand made ) its very good
 aus-merv 13 points
Personally, i would just buy some Traxxas connectors and change them for the ones that come stock on these batteries. Easy enough to do even with a limited skill in soldering. Remember when cutting the ends off the battery cable, cut them INDIVDUALLY and not together. Bad stuff can happen if you cut them at the same time. Oh and check out youtube for step by step instructions on how to solder a traxxas connector. it's Childs play. Goodluck
 AFerreira 57 points
just cut a piece of the battery door to pass the wires! that's it!
 Christan 10 points
Here is a link www.link
 Khilra 129 points
The mini revo has TRX/traxxas connectors, these zippys have XT60 connectors (3mm gold plugs in casing)
Id recommend changing the revo to use these instead. I havent seen a converter that goes from XT60 to TRX. so you will probably have to solder one yourself. Therefor its easyer to change the connector on your esc instead *-)
 Herve 2 points
You would have to trim the battery door a little bit to be able to close it. Get the Female Traxxas <-> Male XT60 if you don't have soldering iron, but replacing the xt60 plug by a female traxxas plug would be more efficient.
 bageezus 14 points
Good battery
 Andy 5 points
You will either have to solder a traxxas style connection on the battery, or solder a XT60 plug to your e-revo or buy www.link
 Corey 1 points
put a traxxas plug on it

Is it normal that the battery swells a bit. I ran a test with this battery on a 35 size motor at 350 mA for only a few minutes and battery started to swell. The plastic film cover is inflated a bit. Temp on battery was only around 35 degree C (lukewarm)
Thankful for a reply
 whatever 15 points
its not normal for battery to swell
 ProcessBlue 13 points
Stop using that battery immediately!
 Gkp27 15 points
It is not normal for the battery to swell up.
I pull 25 amps off these batteries they don't get warm or swell, sounds like a bad battery.

some lipos's dont reach full capacity until they break in, too much too soon damages lipos

no you should put it in salt water for a couple days to discharge it
 erick 6 points
no its puffing put it in a container of salt water for a week and then cut off your connectors and throw it away.

Will it fit in a RC18r with aluminium chasis?
Thanks.
 Corey 1 points
yea it will fit might need slight trimming though
 cmslave 6 points
buy smaller lipo.
i had a problem with these on MERV and i decided to stop trying to buy "almost fit lipo"
for safe fit lipo with prof to fit without modifications!

Hey how long would it take to charger on of these at 2 anmps with the TGY-3 - Turnigy 2S 3S Balance Charger. Direct 110/240v Input? Thanks
 Montspy 23 points
1.5 hour or less
 Shayne 10 points
about 1hr 20mins
 Andy 5 points
around 45 min. But that all depends how low the battery is when you go to charge it up.
 Alex 8 points
Just make sure you dont go over the specs on the battery (c raqting) if you do, the pack might malfunction.

Will this work on the new traxxas 1/16 e-revo??? thanks for the help
 aus-merv 13 points
Yea it will work/fit fine. You will just have to trim the battery door a little to fit the thicker cable that comes with this battery.
 Christan 10 points
Here is a link www.link
 Miroslav 7 points
Yes it Works. I use it by myself in my 1/16 Slash. You have to modify one side of the Battery-Tray.
 Pekka 8 points
Yes it will. Driving time is about 40min if be
driven "easy".
 Andy 5 points
I am currently using them on the traxxas 1/16 e-revo, so yes.
 Jose Maria 2 points
This works perfect with 1/16 revo without any modification
 erick 6 points
yup youjst have to trim the battery door slightly.
GOLDSNIPER  95 points - 7/18/2009

Yes you can still balance the battery with the balance plug but it is not recomended to charge through the balance plug at more than 0.2 amps.

BTW This battery comes with deans connectors.
 Canamflyer 125 points
The balance connector is rated by most chargers manufacturers for up to 4A. I would not go above 3A myself when charging these packs.
Ori  10 points - 7/18/2009

Noob question: If I solder traxxas connectors, do I keep charging via the balance plug?
 Andy 5 points
If you solder on a traxxas style plug then you will charge through the traxxas style plug. The balancing plug is to make sure the cells are balanced as yu charge through the main lead.
 Jose Maria 2 points
the both plugs are needed for charging balanced
 Nick 5 points
Yes, you would still plug in both the traxxas connecters and the balance plug.
ZABALA  10 points - 7/15/2009

i buy this bat i use this un mi rc car. MOTOR BRUSHED 540 THIS BAT INFLATE ALL USE BAD FOR ME THIS BAT
 Alex 8 points
well does your car have a lvc? (low voltage cutoff) this prevents it from discharging to much. Swelling is a symptom of over discharging.

I use this in my drift car during races. Very light weight and high output current. Useful capacity before cut off is 1800mAh which is great. Charger shows from 6V to 8.4V around 2250mAh on all of my three batteries. I can only recomend.
