Does it actually come with the motor or is it just the gear box?
Matthew  1 points - 2/18/2013

Hi can you get new shafts for this
 EffinA 1304 points
So far, I can't find them either, I heard replacement parts from GWS are compatible, but I don't know.
Crashburn  16 points - 2/14/2013

Why is shipping weight 89g when weight of product is only a mere 13g? Is there a typo? What is going on with that????
 Gary 2974 points
The shipping weight is just that,by the time the item is put in a in a box with packing material etc so it arrives in one piece the weight creeps up,approx 70/75g for a box and packaging is not out of the way.

Hi, I fried the motor, my fault, can someone suggest a replacement one here at HK? I'm not an expert and I'm a little confused. Thanks

 Kellyann 16223 points

30 A thats it
 EffinA 1304 points
That's right, I have flown my Tiger Moth with this one, and a 30A ESC doesn't even get warm.

Hello, What can I do if the 64T gear comes out its place when starting to run the motor? I put it again in place with a little CA but didn't work. Thank you.
 k.smith459 52 points
hot glue
 Colt1873 166 points
Also, you might try a soft start setting on the esc
 John 14 points
Happens to me on a similar motor. I ended up putting a few washers and a spacer between the prop and the gear. This way the gear simply cannot move forward. Good luck.
plasticbaldy  352 points - 9/20/2011

Does this tiny thing really produce 1kg thrust and take a 13X8 prop ? Do massive 13X8 props come with 2mm propshaft bores ?
 plasticbaldy 352 points
Oh. And prop shaft is 3mm.
 plasticbaldy 352 points
OK. If you want the answer to my question or prop information for this gearbox go here *

GWS Slow fly Props will fit on this shaft perfectly and yes, they make a 13X6 and a 13X8.
 EffinA 1304 points
I run a 10X7 and my 22 ounce Tiger Moth can climb straight up.
Wannes  1 points - 2/21/2011

Hi I don't know which prop I have to use. Could someone help me?

Hi where can I get the main shaft and spur gear? I had a crash and the shaft broke. The motor still good and dont want
to throw it away.
 Eric1180 2278 points
Probably from GWS. The shafts and gears are the same.
 Almm# 1 points
yes, you can do this
U.S.U.L  70 points -

Is motor included? If yes do you have any specs for it?
 Eric1180 2278 points
Yes it included the motor
 Almm# 1 points
yes, the motor has 1850 KV and use an esc with 30 A, but for this motor you cannot use more than 3S in the battery
munyard  8 points -

 novrizal 45 points

16 thumbs up!
Just installed this motor on my 2 lb. powered glider. Almost vertical performance on a 3 cell lipo and 13X8
prop. Pulls about 15 amps while only getting warm. Great motor, good quality, and Good price.

Just tried it out on my gws ss and did not even use full throttle until just on ocassion because it was to windy for the SS. It just took off like a rocket when applied WOT. Fly good with just 1/4 t. Using a 2cell 1300 lipo. Pleased with the perfomance! Just think the wires are too thin.

Motor is great - can pump out 200watts without getting too hot, though wouldn't want to run it on full throttle for too long pulling >20amps.

Does a good job pulling 600g scratch built glider into the air at near vertical using 3s 1200mA lipo.

CONS

Big negative is the main shaft and nylon gear don't seem to be readily available. Seems a shame to throw away a perfectly good gearbox for the sake of a busted gear or bent shaft.

No complaints with the unit, it works fine so 5 stars for it. As for usefull information about it I'll only give 3 stars. We need to know the weight of the unit, not some individual part of it. The 13 grams stated is meaningless and just deceptive. I was certain it was when I ordered it but couldn't see the true weight anywhere. So here it is complete unit as it comes without conectors, 42 grams, if you pull off the rubbery spinner cap it drops to 39 grams.
