why i get farked in the **** with extra weight buying this when i put bixler fuselage in cart which adds $20 to post anyway but then you lob another 360grams what a load of ****
The trick to buy these is to buy a lot of stuff making it go over 1kg. If you only put these in your cart, the shipping price skyrockets because of the long box.
I got some. Each stick with it's own sticker identifying it by size and length. I use this stuff for reinforcement and control rods on foamies. Works great.
My planes uses a 0.9mm steel rod and moves inside a plastic tube/sleeve. Do I simply replace my steel rod and sleeve outright? Should I still use the sleeve with the carbon rod? or not anymore? Thanks all!
You only need the sleeve to stop the rod from flexing. Simply check the length of rod you are using without the sleeve. If it flexes you need the sleeve ** maybe not the entire length ** but enough to prevent flexing.
Frank you must pay the extra in postage for the extra packeging to make sure that the rods that you purchase dont get damaged in delivery. Hope this helps :)
I am looking for carbon rod in this dimension (a bit bigger is ok) but I need 40 inch long or more (100cm) HK suggested I post here to find a source for them ... any ideas? ... I will also need tubing(sleeve) to run these rods to and from the servos and control horns.
Thx

hi, u can use any one of the following: ***********hobbycity****/hobbycity/sto re/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct=4365 ***********hobb ycity****/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idproduct= 8519 But be careful while tightening the screw, it may damage ur CF bar
Elder- um, most folks, and ARF kits assemble a pushrod assembly by heat shrinking (then CA'ing) a short length of "music wire" to either end of the carbon rod...that way you can make simple "Z-bends" in the wire for your servo horn and control horn.
Ash,
Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I could not find 'hobbyCity' (???) or the products you suggested. The rods I currently have are CF 1mm diameter and the sleeves are transparent plastic, I guess 1.5mm internal diameter. I need the same setup but longer, a 100cm at least. Can you help me again? Thx
Elder, here is what I do: I slip a piece of tubing over the CF rod end, leaving a bit of the tube extending pass the end of the rod and glue it in place then I screw the threaded rod of a clevis in the tube until it touches the end of the CF rod and glue that in place. That allows me some length adjustments. At the other end of the rod I simply remove the threaded rod from the clevis (or what ever attachment) slip the attachment over the CF rod and glue it in place. A 1mm CF rod is just the right size with a Sullivan 504 clevis.

4 thumbs up!
Perfect carbon fiber rod for reinforcements or even pushrods of small depron airplanes like F3P for instance.
They are of comparable quality to other more expensive makes in the market.
Just do not forget that in Europe we buy these rods of 1m lenght and these ones from HC are only 0.75m lenght, but OK anyway for shockflyers.

2 thumbs up!
I have just received my order of 1mm carbon rod and I am very happy! The rods are a little stronger then what my LHS sells and at 1/5th the price even after postage. I build a lot of foamies for people and now I will have more money to spend at HobbyCity.
