I'm about to install one of these X8R9 Long antenna into a 700 size Jet Ranger fuselage. I've read that only one of the antennas is "active". Which one is it and how should they be positioned? At 90 degrees, parallel or what?

Does anyone know if you use these with the aerial coiled (as bought) or uncoiled
 Colin 9 points
In case anyone's interested, I've just had confirmation from Assan that the two antennas should be uncoiled and straightened out.

Will this RX bind with an Airtronics RDS8000?
 iguron 55 points
Absolutey no. This receiver is made for assan Tx.
EDLITE  3 points - 10/23/2012

Anybody know why my JR x9305 & JR pcm10x will not bind to Assan X8R9 9Ch 2.4GHz Receiver* both Tx are 2.4GHz
 Gary 3001 points
You can only bind this receiver with the Assan module. The format of the 2.4ghz signal will be different with the JR sets so these will not bind.

How many volts can handle this receiver.
 JB-NL 10 points
Recivers run on 4,8-5,0V either from a reciever batpack or BEC of a ESC.

Hey im thinking about getting a Turnigy 9X, im really big into gliders so ill be needing all 9 channels, would this work would the standard modules? and if not could could i and in an ASSAN module?
Sorry if a dumb question, still learning
 MICKEY28 5 points
module assan pas compatible avec turnigy il y en un seul qui est un peut gros mickey
 pablozg 7 points
Hi, you can't, Turnigy 9X use its own system, and the assan modules are only compatibles with assan emitter. I have an Turnigy 9x and a emitter module for Futaba FF9 and there is not compatible with the Turnigy 9X.
 foster 366 points
YES I HAVE A TURNIGY 9X WITH A ASSAN MODULE. YOU NEED THE JR STYLE MODULE FOR THE TURNIGY 9X. "I HIGHLY RECOMEND ASSAN FOR ITS RANGE AND RELIABILITY" THE TURNIGY 9X WITH A ASSAN MODULE IS JUST AS GOOD AS ANY TOP DOLLAR TRANSMITTER OUT THERE p.s. don't listen to that first guy's respone he dosn't know what he's talking about and should be booed

Hey Foster, I have this Assan X8R9 9Ch 2.4GHz Receiver and can't get it to bind to my JRX9305 OR JRPROPO PCM10X. Any ideas as to why it wont work?

Guys, can someone share experience on 7.4V (2S LiPo)
 Gegetop 65 points
Yes I use this RX with a 7.4v lipo but with a UBEC that regulates the voltage to 6 volt. Sincerely, Gegetop.
 pipo2000 10 points
io uso 2 lipo da 7,4 v con interuttore elettronico a 6v in uscita ,pesca un po da una e un po dall'altra e in caso di batteria in corto la elimina

Guys, I'm looking for some experience on direct 7.4V = 2S LIPO. Thank you
 Bernhard 5 points
I would not trust in to use 2 LiPo directly. Better to use with UBEC or Step down Controler!

wil this work in the flysky 9x with a assan module?
 Adam939 12 points
receiver will work with any TX (Futaba / JR / Hitec / or other) if you have ASSAN Module.
 Tom 5 points
In combination with a Assan module in the transmitter this will work
fluffy11  134 points - 6/12/2011

i have a jr 10sx on a assan x8j will the 9th channel work so i can get to my axearly ch ?
hope somone can help.
 P47-NGNG 23 points
It will only if your TX have 9 channels working in the PPM mode. For example a graupner/jr MC 18 has 9 ch. only in PCM mode. In that case only 8 ch. will function. Hope you this answer helps you. In all cases nothing can be dameged and you can simply try it. The receiver is absolutly perfect. Grtz.

IS this receiver compatible with a JR 9303 radio with a $pektrum Module??
 vasy1 605 points
No. Need Assan module to work.
 Guido 5 points
No, it works with an Assan TX Module only!

Hi Snake 92, i have several receivers like this. good reliability ! It is compatible only with the Assan system. It's the common rule for the 2,4 systems...
Good flights

Hi, Im newbie in 2.4 GH frequency, Does anyone know if ASSAN X9R9 reciever can be bind with the Turnigy 2.4 GH 9 channel Transmiter Mode 2 V2?
Thanks Juan
 sergetk 108 points
No, only with Assan TX module. But you can buy Assan TX in JR formfactor and install it to Turnigy instead stock module. It is slightly cheaper but Assan provides more different RXes - including lightweight 2,9 gr.
 John Ronald 16 points
I'm afraid not, this would bind only with the Assan RF module
 Papy Solex 10 points
Hi Juanzambra, you can bind it only with a Assan system. Good receiver, reliable,
Good flights

Can someone please tell me the difference between the SHORT and the LONG antenna receivers...?? Is there any range difference...??
 pilatus1 19 points
Long antenna or short antenna has the same range. The available lenght allow you to position the aerial for the best receiving position. This seems so.
 Spoof boy 112 points
FROM WHAT I GATHER THERE IS NO SIGNIFICANT RANGE INCREASE JUST A MORE RELIABLE SIGNAL.
 peter_pan2k 32 points
I have used both and can't fly far enough away to loose connection with either one. the only limitation i'm aware of is that carbon fiber interfears with the range

Will this rx work with the X8D Assan hack module which is a 8 channel module...
 comicflyer.de 279 points
Yes, it works! I have a JR mx-12 equipped with a 3-channel extension for a total of 9 channels. Works fine on all 9 channels. Eddy >> comicflyer.de

Will these X8R9-L Receivers handle high torque servos for large 1/3 scale planes? How many per channel?

Will these X8R9-L Receivers handle high torque servos and 8 volts or a 2 cell Li-Po?

There is no it will burn down. You need to use BEC, example www.link

Darf ich die Antenne auf 10cm krzen ?
Auf was muss ich dann achten ?
 __jang 112 points

I need to know if your receiver X8R9-L could receive 8chs working together the module X8F installed in a transmisor Futaba FF9. I know that this transmisor only works in 8chs in PPM mode, as it have not available any more channels in this mode.

My question is that if I used this receiver X8R9-L with the module X8F in my Futaba FF9 I could have the 8chs available or on the contrary, if I would have any problem using a receiver of 9chs with my Futaba FF9.

I make this question because my intention would be to change my transmisor in the future by a new transmisor with 9chs in PPM mode.

Is the 9ch receiver considered a V1 or V2? I've read on RCGroups that the V1 receivers required re-binding each time it was powered up, but the V2 do not. So, with that said, does this 9ch receiver need to re-bind with each power-up?

Thanks,

Jon
 eezfly 178 points
I agree, we need to know if this is a V2 if so it can be use with the 8X combo pack module, and will need to be bind only once that would be good.

*peter aus Baden, ich habe eine Futaba FX30, 2,4ghz. Kann dieser Empfänger auch damit betrieben werden.
 kallox 19 points

No, as mentioned in other replies of these receivers. $pektrum, Futaba FASST 2.4 , corona 2.4 or ASSAN 2.4 only binds there own receivers!

27 thumbs up!
Having good faith and confidence in Assan 2.4Ghz system, I installed this RX in my Raptor50 nitro heli. Range test along the beach with clear line of sight saw perfect control even at a distance of more than 1KM. This 9 ch rx is about 50pcnt more expensive than its 7 ch sibling but it is worth the money as I can use the extra ch for battery power input and battery monitor, and there is still spare for other application. With the long antenna, I could fix it clear of the carbon fiber chassis to avoid RF shadowing during flight. Really satisfied and will buy more.

9 thumbs up!
Bought 4, installed one in my Giant UCD with moke 2.10. Glitch free, rapid response to nearly 1000 yards or more, using 8 channels with crow. Am ordering 4 more soon, for my gassers. Just wish that they would work for all 9 channels using PCM on 9Z/C radios. Highly recommend for glow engine use, will put out more, once I use them in one of my smaller gassers. 1/3 the price of the Futaba 7or8 channel receivers. Thanks Hobby City (=
