Measure and display the voltage of each cell and total volatage of the 2S-6S Lithium battery packs. Flashing light to indicate low volatge. Large-sized LED segment display with clear and legible characters. High contrast gradient segment suitable for outdoor environment. Compact in form and light in weight, Suitable for use both on the gound and in your model. Power-saving mode specially designed for real-time monitoring of voltage when installed on the model.
Insert the contact pin of the volatge monitor into the balance charge socket of the lithium battery pack. Becareful that the cathode pin must be inserted right into the cathode of the balance charge socket. Isertion in wrong direction or misallignment should be avoided.
Hi HK. So is it the high accuracy one *with* the power saving switch or is it the half priced .03 accuracy one without the switch? The spec here clearly ready with the switch and with .01 accuracy- but the suggestion in the discussion is that the maker may have duped (us). Can someone check?
thanks!
Doh! No that isn't it. This thing reads different on every cell even after balance. I've even compared it with one a buddy has and his reads alot more accurate.
If your esc is a lipo compatible esc with Low Voltage Cuttof (LVC) than it is not needed. However, the LVC wont show you the individual state of each cell. If you find that one cell is significantly lower than the others, this means it is out of balance but it more than likely means it is a weak cell. In any case you should make sure each cell stays above 3.0 v at least.
it is very helpful to check your different packs if they are full at the field. for instance when they are mixed. you wouldnt notice if they are full when you start your plane. if they differ too much try balancing them if this doesnt work you should better not use this pack.
what i'm concerned about is the black cable at the bottom on the picture. i think there is only one of those on the monitor, aswell as on the 6s battery, but there are one on each of the 2s batteries. Do i have to connect the two cables on the batteries to the one on the monitor somehow?
It should be possible, however you will have to make a special adapter lead. The ground wires from both batteries balance plug would need to be soldered together. If you where to buy a 4cell balance ext. And a couple 2cell ext. You could solder up an adapter then.
You cannot plug them in side-by-side. Doing so may (probably will) destroy the monitor. like dingo said, use a jst-xh male 4s an 2 jst-xh female 2s female to make an adapter. If you don't want to bother making an adapter - re-purpose this one: Twin pack charge lead (2 x 3S)6S w/ XT60 SKU: T-Twins
Plug your two 2s batteries into the first three pins of the 3s connectors and the 6s connector to the voltage monitor - adapter done. You can remove the two wires with the xt60 connector to save weight and space* just make sure to isolate the ends of the cut wires.
Should work.... 2 ways
Build a custom connector so that the positive lead from cell 2 of pack 1 connects to the negative lead of cell 1 pack 2 on the balance connectors to get 1,2,3 &4. OR...... plug the balance connector on directly and you should have cells 1,2,4,5 and a blank/dead cell 3.
Beware! What they are shipping is not the same product they are advertising. It no longer has a power saving switch and is not as accurate as it used to be, the one I received is only accurate to 0.03v, the same as the cheaper 2-6s monitor sold at one third the price. The current offering is a ripoff, don't waste your money!
tight****, it is perfect for its application and price, if you want accuracy and calibration and tons of features, buy a cell log. i did and my friends perfectly happy with his turnigy 6s monitor.
Kiss my *ss. Order # 2001219582, Date: 1/6/2010 The information was accurate for the product I received at the time. If HK would stop changing the product w/o updating the specs, we wouldn't need this discussion.

The function of the Assan 6S Lipo Battery is quite similar to the "Battery Monitor 2-6S".
The display features is bright and crisp and due to the big digits you can also install it in your heli to know the cell voltages during flight.

This monitor much better than the "Battery Monitor 2-6S." This measured in steps 0.01v and the other to 0.03v.

5 thumbs up!
This is very nice product. It's bigger and heavier than "Battery Monitor 2-6S", but it has bright display with big digits and power save switch, so that you can fix it to your heli or plane and monitor voltages on the fly with minimum current drain. Quality is better and its reasonable (accuracy is about 0.01v/cell) to pay an extra $2.
Thanks to HobbyKing.com you can buy high quality product and you don't have to pay 20$ for it from LHS !!!

Super simple to use. Just plug balance lead in with negative wire to bottom of monitor (labeled on side of monitor)and it reads total voltage then cycles through individual cell voltages. Switch on power saver and it cycles through voltages three times then switches screen off. Screen comes back on when any cell voltage gets to 3.4V. Weighs 13 grams.
