Does this servo works with ailerons on mentor multiplex? Sorry for my bad english
 theflyiniowan 26 points
these servos should work fine on that plane, i had them on a sig four star 20 and they performed well. So i would say yes:)

Is this servo working fine without any noise?
 LUNDY 282 points
I have 2 of these servo in use for almost a year now in a 1.2m foamy on rudder and elevator ,never have had any problem with them ,and they have all been through a lot of abuse ,they are very silent . Good servo can certainly recommend .
 Pedromendes 56 points
I have 3 of these servo in my Black horse Liberty with 1445 wingspam, and never had any problem with them, i fly with this plane about 3 years and this servo worked fine very strong in radical fly, good servo for medium planes for a lowest price 5 stars, I recomend this turnigy staf.
 Sultan 13 points
Before buying this product i was also in doubt. But after testing I was relly shocked by it perfromance. In first test i noticed some noise. Then i checked it is due to the bad transmitter. Then i upgrade my transmitter and it worked pretty fine. Before using it u check ur plain max load on it.

Most time's the noise is about the trim of the transmitter *)

TR-1160A - Performance of this servo (speed and torque) is on 6V. But why are this values different from speed and torque of the same servo from DE Warehouse?
 joanwa 105 points
wondered that too. and what is the difference to the Turnigy 1160?
 Jason 14 points
I have noticed the exact same problem.
 FRoss-USA 144 points
Although both are listed as micro the 1160A (like a Hitech HS81) is larger than the 1800A.

I have just stripped 2 gear sets.
Cannot find replacement gear sets. Are they available? Found replacement gears for HXT900 do they fit?
 warhead_71 48 points
Bought two for ailerons in a E-Flite Stearman. Stripped the small pinion gear in one servo while bench testing. No - the gears are not interchangeable with HXT900 or any 9gr servo.

Will these servo's work on 2S lipo? (7.4V)
 jej500 36 points
yes, I tried it on 2S lipo and it works!! but I tested only 10 - 15 minutes...
 Sultan 13 points
directly don't use it with 7.4 volt lipo.As it might cause damage. If u want to use directly with 7.4 lipo then use a 5 volt voltage regulator .This regulator is very cheap. It conerts 7.4 volt to 5 volt output which is require input voltage for any servo.
speedbird  230 points - 9/16/2009

I suggest shopper look at the 3101 it is a much better servo at a slightly higher price
yes it does buzz (gain)
but it is smoooooth!
speedbird  230 points - 9/16/2009

just received 6 of these
they do not compare with the quality of the HXT900 even though they have lghigher torque
one even overheated on cycling
teebone  49 points - 8/9/2009

Can anyone tell me the performance/quality differences (other than small size differences and those I have noted below) between the Turnigy TR1160A, Turnigy S3101S and the Turnigy S3317B servos. The TR1160A cost $2.00 less than the other two servos and has 0.02 kg more torque. The S3317B has ball-bearings and cost a little less than the S3101S. I know I must be missing something because it appears as the cost goes up the servo features/performance goes down.

Has any body else had problems with the gears sliping. I have only used 1 of the 2 i bought and i am not sure if this is recuring problem.
 Eric1180 2277 points
I think i might have striped it on my sig wonder. I still have yet to try the other one but from the reviews it sounds fine.
 thomanie 148 points
I got one that had bad gears, it stuck and stripped while on the bench. Basically DOA. It's normally an excellent servo, and an awesome deal IMHO!

Would love to get replacement gears for these babies at HK, though :)
 Eric1180 2277 points
Cool thanks man i wasn't sure. i will feel a little more comfortable in staling in my next plane.

Does anyone know for sure if the posted dimensions are stated INCLUDING the mounting ledge(where the screws go to hold em down)????? I need to know how they measure their servos. Most do not include the mounting lip. Need to be sure here...
THANK YOU
 ivoroha 26 points
Hi,
the dimensions doesn´t include mounting lip. I have just measured the dimensions and they are : 29,5mm without lips and 40,5mm with both lips, height is 33,5mm without screw on the top and the thicknes is 11,7mm. I have this servo and it looks realy good
Claudio  86 points -

Take care. They deleted the bad rates for this servos.

This page is about TR-1160A or HD-1160A? Look above the picture, beside the stars:TR-1160A
And down, in the specifications say HD-1160A...

Something is wrong
 H-KING_SCOTT 5155 points
Just a different SKU. This is normal in warehouse systems.
TR = TURNIGY i assume.
It's OEM'd so the TR or HD means nothing.
 __Waco 304 points
They are basically the same servos, but with different stickers...
Bigglesfliesund  869 points -

and just what is the difference in shipping and handling tow servos they weigh the same U plank
Bigglesfliesund  869 points -

this comes with the same packaging as the 18gram metal gear servo which ships at 30 grams , so why does this ship at 51 grams

most of my orders are around the 5 -6 KG range paid for , but actural weight is mostly 3KG come on HC sort this out please
 irish_lord99 188 points
That's why it's called shipping AND HANDLING. :)
Eric1180  2277 points -

some thing is wrong with the de******ion or title.

73 thumbs up!
I put these in the ailerons of an edge540. They will skip when pushed a little and centering was horible. I used them for a few flights but it was just to annoying to have to adjust my trim over and over because of bad centering. I recomend them for only foamy aircraft.

I have two and both move in large steps and have a lot of noise in neutral position. Low price but low quality so I will try other better options from HC.

57 thumbs up!
Just brought couple of this TR1160A to try out.
Beside the low cost, this servo fails on precsion and resolution in compare to the Hitec HS-81 or the best deal HXT900 micro servo. I use a servo driver and a Y cable to test and compare two servos together. Centering is no good, steps are jumping on varies positions and much more jittering in compare to HXT900, HS-81 and HXT 6.9Kg standard servo. Keep searching for a cheap mid size servo.

I am disappointed by these servos because the centering is really BAD !!!

Leider ist die Rückstellgenauigkeit dieser Servos ziemlich schlecht.

I bought 8 of these. I have been using them with a speed controller and found them to have poor resolution. They center well but move in large steps. Good for rudder or throttle but don't put these on an elevator - they won't do slight movements needed to trim.
