Is this system usable with Robbee Futaba FX-14?
manuelcasaas  84 points - 3/26/2013

I have been using this module in my Robbe Futaba FC28 V1 Transmitter since early 2009 and have had no problems with range or reception. I have recently tried using nine channels with a X8R9 reciever but no luck has any one else been able to use channel nine
alexgrisales  6 points - 12/13/2012

I purchased this combo for a Futaba 8U a few years ago and just pulled it out to use it. Can't get any more than 50 paces range. Anyone else had this problem? What is the propper way to range test this unit? If it is faulty looks like I need to purchase another combo.

Will this module be compatible with the 9Z ? I can't seem to find a satisfying answer , so please - if anyone actually use this module with the 9Z I will be happy to hear your thoughts .
 Domen 6 points
Compatible with. FUTABA: 3PM,3PK, 7U, 8U, 8J, 9C , 9Z, and FN series. I trusted this short compatibility list when I made a purchase for my Futaba 9C and it works splendid.
 juliokf 45 points

Hi i have had this for 3 years now and I am now having trouble.First i lost congtrol of a little speed plane that i had it smashed in to the ground, i was pulling up then nothing like it was dead. After i picked up the pieces the controls still worked how ever the planed was lost. Then I was flying and just completely lost all controls of my plane for about 3 to 4 seconds, and then got them back. Has this happen to anyone? thanks
 Fernando Costa 275 points
could be a UBEC problem. have you tried to use the voltage protector included with your X8 combo pack (the little yellow cilinder). Plug it directly to your receiver.
Theunsie  132 points - 2/27/2012

For those who already bought this, if you look at the antenna as upright where is the pins located on this module? up or down? in reference to the antenna. thank you
 aulas 7 points
fonctionne parfaitement, super prix
 Fernando Costa 275 points
The pins are located in the upper part of the module with reference to the antena. I recently bought one of those so feel free the ask.

Hi guys.. has anyone tried this module on a SANWA (Airtronics) M11 surface transmitter?
drbflyer  198 points - 10/21/2011

I've been using X8 module on my Futaba super 8 and Multiplex Evo 12 and works great on my planes and helis, including gas powered giants. However, max channels I've used so far are 7. Now I need to use 9 channels with a glider using an Assan 9C rx (long antenna). Will the X8 module on my Evo 12 work to support 9 channels on with the 9C rx. Thanks.
 drbflyer 198 points
Verified - 8 channels work. Followup question - is there anyway you can get 9 channels to work with the 9c rx? Anybody? Thanks.
n3m1s1s  1019 points - 9/19/2011

can this combo do PPM out for multirotors please?
 mnuapel 15 points
No, unfortunatelly there is no PPM output from the receivers.
 Theunsie 132 points
hi mate do mean like a ppm output from the receiver's bind connection which some guys use to modify and make up a wireless trainer port for your computer? reference the HK6channel rx mod.

Can this be used with an old Futaba FC16 via Trainer Port or do I have to use the other bundle, available here? Thanks in adavance.
 FRANK76 7 points
If the trainer port has the PPM signal, yes!
 mnuapel 15 points
Yes you can! But you also need to connect the power supply. Only PPM not enough.

No the FX30 uses the slimmer style module like the TM14.

I’am satisfied user of 2,4 GHz ASSAN system with Hitec Eclipse, from more than 3 years. Now I have bought a new RF module X8F V2 and I have some problems with my old receivers, X8R6, X8R7, X8R8. Servos on CH1 has random tugging and irregular movement, I have find out the problem only on CH1. With the new receivers (in black case) is no problem. Dos it means, that X8F V2 module Is not compatible with old receivers?

Just received the Version 2 Combo and have been using in a 2 metre electric glider - range is fantastic as glider almost out sight.
Have sold many Assan Modules and Receivers to club mates and all are very happy with range and glitch free

I recieved ASSAN X8 (V2) 2.4ghz combo pack today. It was double boxed with the X8 components inserted in a tight foam package to prevent any damage.
Altough HC takes three days from order to shipping, once it's shipped, their products arrive within a (7) day week via registered airmail.
I've read numerous times about how quick and easy binding the reciever to the transmitter is.
The included manual is okay .... for the experienced individual, not so for the noob.
So here are a few pointers
The 10 volt 4700uF capacitor .... you need to reverse the leads on the servo terminal for a plus to plus and - to - connection.
You insert the bind plug into the signal ends of channel 1 and 3. (this is where you connect the capacitor to the plus and - . ) In doing this , you have disconnected the esc or power and can't power on the reciever so you cant bind with the reciever. So, just plug the esc into another channel, i.e. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. This provides the necessay power for the binding to occur.
Please note, you recieve a 6 channel and 7 channel (short antennae) reciever with the FUTABA/HITEC/WFLY transmission module.
Other than these quirks, the Assan X8 system works flawlessly in my HITEC Optic 6 transmitter.

22 thumbs up!
I got my X8 system and it worked great on the first flight with my Apex 3D. The reason for 4 stars is that the polarity sticker on the receivers was backwards so I couldn't get the receivers to fire up and bind. I looked at the extra receiver and noticed that the pins were reversed to the ones that came with the transmitter so I flipped the plugs and it worked as expected. HK, this is easy to check and could cause return of a good receiver!

Received this module when it was offered by itself without the receivers. This combo is fantastic for price and function. I am very pleased with the operation in my Futaba 8U Transmitter. I fly a Video plane and fly under the Hood, love the pilot view. I had my plane so far away from the field that six other people looking could not see the plane. I flew the plane back to the field under Video View before anyone could see it.

I've been using this for a few weeks now and so far I am extremely happy. Binding the receivers was a piece of cake and took all of about 2 seconds. The instructions seem to be the old version or something as the picture shows the servo signal pins on the bottom, but the sticker on the receivers was correct. The signal pins are the top pins, so you know which way to hook up your servos and which pins to use for binding. I have not done a full range test, but I have flown a plane with a 40" wing as far away as I would ever want to with no problem. Most people are reporting the range up to a half mile. At least here in the USA. Apparently the Euro version is a bit less powerful due to laws. I like that it comes with a capacitor that you can plug into an unused channel just in case of a power glitch. This keeps the receiver from resetting. Most likely will never need it, but its there just in case. Receivers are small and light, especially the 4 channel for your foamies and such. If I had one gripe, I would really prefer the servo inputs on the top of the receiver. Other than that, its perfect. Using it on a Futaba 9Chp Super.
