Can this be used to control both air retracts (air up/spring down) and air brakes?

Hi there! Many people complained that their switch leaks, but don't throw it away yet! Through experience, every single air value/switch I bought all leaked after a while. Don't give it a bad rating because it leaks as it is common issue that can easily be fixed by lubricating it again with grease as the grease wears out after a while. You don't have to pull it apart to grease it, just lubricate the exterior of the core rod and pull it in and out a few times! Hope it helps everybody who had this problem :-)

You can use this with air-up / spring-down systems (as I do) by blanking off one of the end ports. I used solder to block it. Works a treat.

What is the point of these discussion boards if no one is going to answer. UH's do various bits & pieces to build retracts and also sell two different types of hose! It would be nice to know what size of hose to order with what bits to ensure it all connects up when it finally gets here!......Sorry, but this can get a bit frustrating!

The discussion is what it is, a discussion between customers to help each other out, not a bulletin board from hc to customers. If no one answers, it may be that no one has bought it, the ones who has bought it does not read this discussion, or doesn't bother to measure theirs etc...

I usually try reading discussions on a regular basis to see if I can help, but this particular item I do not have...

This looks like the switch I received with my 2204 retract set (even though it should have been a 2-way switch). It takes 2mm ID hose.

You know, your question was answered in previous posts here.... I know it's hard to do, but read the posts that were posted before yours.

1.7mm ID hose fits better.

What diameter hose does this use? Also what is standard size hose diameter for retracts?
 Jeffrey 106 points
I'm using it with 1/16" (1.6mm) id hose.
 Straight Up 743 points
I'm using 2mm ID hose.
 Straight Up 743 points
Actually 1.7mm ID hose fits better.

4 thumbs up!
Great little air switch.
-the connections are 2.65 mm in diameter.
-the large thread, to mount the switch, is an M8.
-the colors vary, mine came in metallic blue and has little edgings along the ends which makes it look really good to.
