Thanks Ryan, appreciate the info/dimensions for the control horn. Cheers, -Mick.
Michael  69 points - 2/24/2013

I gather the dimension given of 13.5 x 16 is the size of the base for the control horn? -Mick.
 Ryan 112 points
the base has a width of 9mm and has a length of 13mm with the horn adding an extra 3mm onto that.

what's the weight of one of them??,
 Vionnet 1051 points
approximately 1 gm!!
 r/c vish 57 points
its precisely 0.8 to 1.2 grams.... all are not same weight ....
 handyjap 195 points
20 x Control Horns 13.5x16mm = 7.8g , thus 0.39g each average * 60 x Self-Tapping Screws 2x10 = 13.6g thus 0.68g for 3 average * Combined = 1.07g average. I prefer to use fishing thread and contact glue to attach these Control Horns.

can i stick this on epp???
 perrot 12 points
thank you
 Pushrod 585 points
Depends on what you mean by stick if you mean glue or epoxy it is not a good idea ,glue makes the foam brittle and after a few flights the glue begins to seperate from the foam. If you use 2mm screws it will be stronger and srcew through the horn, through the foam and in to the back plate. No glue needed for a better job.
 DennisT1 162 points
low temp hot melt will work, but as above screws really are better.
 Lakshitha 3 points
u can use skews to fit his to Ur plane.u need to cut the plastic part in the middle and use it to set the skews to Ur plane. Ur epp should be between theses plastic part.
 barreta 21 points
yes u can.

Will epoxying these control horns be ok if I dint have the screws? Thank you
 teflyer 151 points
Yes that will be fine. To make sure they are even more secure, cut a slit into the control surface, glue the top of the base of the control surface, and stick the control horn through.

To make what I said clearer, youtube CrashTestHobby #1 CTH Albatross and Pelican Trainers 11-11 and go to the time of 6:55 on the video
 Dillzio 403 points
epoxy is OK but epoxy around and over the edges of the horn as well, don't just tack it on
 Pushrod 585 points
If you are applying these to a foamy no but if it is balsa yes you should be fine just use plenty teflyer discribes
 theSelf 45 points
why not a foam (EPO) type plane? thanks
 Pushrod 585 points
The surface of the foam will be made brittle by the epoxy and as this will only be surface mounted it will take a thin layer of faom off with the first bit of strain or flexing. The horns come with a back plate that the screws tread in to to give them the strength on the foamies.
 Jorge 10 points
I use toth picks to hold the togeter it works fine but its better if you can find the screws
CPMBOY  9 points - 3/23/2012

what the suitable plastic screw size for this horn?
 ALANCAMP-BR 15 points
hello my friend 2mm is the best
 Pushrod 585 points
Use a 2mm screw by the lenght you require
 DennisT1 162 points
2mm or #2. Avoid washer head screws though* it gets in the way and holds an angle on your screw.
Kellyann  16228 points - 12/28/2011

Pushrod Useless thanks. Well I thought Sally should have given you the reward but after that!! I guess she knew what she was doing. Has any of you ever had surface flutter?????

 Sally 659 points
Ok yes you made a video. I get it. I was not bat and saves using two clevis.
 Pushrod 585 points
This system works well and a good solid conection to the horns as for the video it self usless only kidding good job
 Allison 1358 points
Aces. I watched it. Yes so you must put a clevis at the servo end cool. It is protected there by the fuselage. I like the idea that the you thread the horn on to the rod. So where do you get that quite little nut from?

Edward what are Sullivan clevis and where can I find them?
 Heppy Ket 381 points
They look like this - PRODUCT ID: Lanyu12709 - but they are made by Sullivan, been around for years, most hobby shops will have them HK have some sullivan products, but not these.

 Pushrod 585 points
They have the Sullivan Pull-Pull Cable Kit 2-56 40lb SKU: S520 it willgive you an idea what the clevis look like
 Sally 659 points
Well I have a very hard decision. I did ask Edward what a SULLIVAN saw and Pushrod answered. MMMMM Edward the Lanyu12709 would chatter a bit just like the Nylon Clevis 1.8x27mm
 Kellyann 16228 points
Very good
Sally  659 points - 12/26/2011

The holes on these seem very large? Is there a clives for this or what do you use please?
 Heppy Ket 381 points
About the right size for Sullivan clevis and some of the populsr nylon Clevises.
 Pushrod 585 points
The clevis that i used with these control horns was Nylon Clevis 1.8x27mm (10pcs/set) PERFECT.
 Kellyann 16228 points
Sally the above are correct but I find the are great for wire. Bike spokes work very very well. I have posted a video showing just how. Have a look. I hope this helps.

What is the measure of the screw?
 DennisT1 162 points
Doesn't come with any* use what is appropriate. I used #4s, because thats what I could get but I would have preferred #2s. Product will accomodate either. Length will depend on thickness of your control surface.

Best horns I'v used so far. Perfect size for my depron models. If you want real slow responce, you might want a slightly bigger horns, as theese are just perfect for my style of flying (3D) which involves big-angles!
