Sybren if your engine is not to powerfull it should work out just fine. Have used a 50a ESC myself and also a 30 on same plane worked just fine.. changed out my 30amp cause i guess it would burn out after some use..
jourdain  1 points - 5/2/2013

would this work on a 150amp esc?
Sybren.  2 points - 5/2/2013

Will this work on full power with a 45a esc from hobbyking? 3 amps x 20c = 60 amps, so this would work?
Ryan  1 points - 4/13/2013

What charger for this battery?
 Joel 97 points
any of the computer chargers sold by hobbyking pretty much. the turnigy acu-6cell for about $20 works pretty good or the hobbyking one of which ever you prefer. when you charge them just choose the same amp rating and same cell rating on the charger as to what the battery is.

I am very happy with this battery. They have roughly 30 cycles on them and I haven’*t noticed any performance degradation or puffing. I am using 750kv motors, 30A esc, and 12" props.

Can i fit this lipo to my hsp racing brontosaurus pro 1/10 monster truck
 kobi 24 points
yes it will fit easly

Can i use this lipo for a 1 16 car?
 FPVking 366 points
Yes You can as long as You won't go over stated C rate. With this lipo that means 60A. Absolite safe would be 30-60A max.
Glenn  13 points - 7/3/2012

How many amps do I charge this battery at?
 cr8tive_leo 177 points
10pcnt rule of thumb is max. so anywhere between 1amp to 3amps (I wouldn't do three... 2 would be a safe inbetween) Just charge it, and monitor the batery, if it heats up , then reduce the charging amps.

 James 5 points
It is best to charge at 1C... packs will last longer and perform better...you can go to 2C but that is as high as I would suggest and then only if you are in a hurry.
 PandP 4 points
I charge them between 1 - 1,5C. If the voltage level drops under 11.3v charge it only at 0.1 - 0.9C.
 s_mack 95 points
I'm not sure where the "rule of thumb" comes from, but the specifications are 2C. I don't think the OP understands (otherwise he wouldn't have asked) so I'll explain. "C" is "capacity". The capacity here is 3000mah, or 3Ah. The specifications say it can be charged at 2C, or 6Ah. Should you charge it at 6A? Obviously, by the above comments, it is debatable. Unless you have a very good charger AND POWER SUPPLY, you CANT charge it that high anyway. Mine maxes out at 5A and yes, I do charge it at that rate and have had no problems at all after some 50 cycles. I've just come back to buy another one for a new plane, but the first still works.
 cr8tive_leo 177 points
Lol, you're almost a year late there mr.smartieparts.
 Glenn 13 points
Alright. That question was posted when I was just getting to the hobby. I now know how to charge and what to charge at. I charge my Turnigy 1800 mah at 3a max at the field. but I charge it at home at 1.8a. cr8tive_leo...realy? 1AMP? That will take like 3 hours to charge a battery of this size!! And s_mack 5A? I surprised that your batteries have even lasted that long. Have yours not puffed up yet?
 s_mack 95 points
:) So now that you know all about the hobby, you think you know enough to say both leo and I are wrong? But you... you must be right, is that it? I showed you the math. Where do you get 3a from? Why are you "surprised" that my batteries have lasted? Exactly I mean... not just because you divine 3a as being a magic number. As I explained, the manufacturer states you can charge it at 2C. Let's do the elementary math again... 2 times 3 is what? That's right... 6A. So 5A is actually being quite safe about it. And yes, I'd charge it at 6A if my charger would handle it. I do my 2200's at 4.4A for the same BASIC MATH MEETS MANUFACTURERS SPECS reason.
 Glenn 13 points
First off i was thinking of my 1800mah batts on the 5amp thing. I am ttuly very sorry about that. I toataly agree with you on the five amps is a safe amount to charge this batt at. I got the 3a from the one c rating(10percent). And no i do not know everything about the hobby but i do understand it( at least most of it. As you can see). What charger do you have? My charger(the accucell 6) can do six amps with the right power supply. I am stickng to my previous comment about leo. Unless my power supply was the cheapest you could ever get i would NEVER charge this battery at one amps. It would simply take to long. I also agree with leo's last comment!!!!!!!!! I am in the c/o of Glenn shoaf. I am in seventh grade!!!! As i said in the begining if my comment. I was THINKING OF MY 1800 MAH BATTERIES WHEN I SAID THAT FIVE AMPS WAS ENOR OUS!
 s_mack 95 points
OK Kid, calm down :) To answer your Q: I have the same charger as you. Its my power supply that won't handle 6A. I consider the whole system (charger PSU) to be my "charger", but yes technically my charger can charge at 6A, my PSU at 5A so my system is clearly limited to 5A. Which, I must admit, is getting to be a pain for my 5Ah batteries!
 Electromagnetize 1 points
I have been charging mine at 5A with no problems. I started at 3A and moved up to be safe. My PS can handle 10A but I am pretty happy with the charging time at 5A so I am not going to push it. I also balance at 2A. I am using Accucell 6. I am very happy with this battery. They have roughly 30 cycles on them and I haven’*t noticed any performance degradation or puffing.

would this work ok in a air-soft gun
 Alexander 628 points
These guns need 9.6 or 8.4 Volts. A fully charged 3S Lipo has 12.6V and you have to charge it when it has about 9V. The question is if the electric can stand 12.6V ?
 Superelectric 261 points
i do not recommend lipo if it is not intented to use with some kind of voltage control source like ESC..looks that your gun is intented for 1.2V cells and not for 3.7V cells
 Gerson 18 points
This gonna work but you can danified your gum, use a battery pack, you can use again and ever gonna have the same voltage :)
 underthetire 409 points
If your airsoft gun is LiPo or LifePo ready only. HK did have a shipment of airsoft gun batteries ( the round type double pack). Check the size before you order though, may not fit in the stock.

Is the Discharge Plug: XT60 female?
 Hella-Kopterz 129 points
the plug on the batt is male while the plug on the esc is female. cheers
 mouchadino 372 points
yes stock conector XT 60
 Superelectric 261 points
most of the Batteries have female plugs and in this case is not different ..yes it is female
 s_mack 95 points
Hella-Kopterz has it backwards (Superelectric is correct). Its confusing because it depends on what you're looking at. The plastic is "male" but the metal, which is what they determine the gender by, is female. Just clarifying.

Is the c-rating high enough to use with this motor? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem
.asp?idproduct=2140
 sklenar 127 points
Actualy, packs delivered have almost 10mOhm per cell. I expected less resistance, well I will check it again after first flights. But capacity is high enough and thus the pack will easily support your motor (which specs say around 25A max), as it is below 10C load for 3Ah pack.

 Blind 5 points
Yes, that battery can support 60A continuous (3000mAh * 20c = 60 amps). That motor draws 35A at peak.
 underthetire 409 points
Im using that battery on TWO 28/30 1050's on a twin. Works fine.
 Renzetti 1 points
very, very good battery, i think that this battery is better that nano battery.
ZIPPY is the better.
 Tim 5 points
This battery rocks and should give plenty power for your motor.
 Marius 5 points
I have 6 of these. In MPX Twinstar I have KDA2215 motors - 15 min flights. In my MPX twister drawing 50A I damage the batteries in less than 5 minutes.
 JonesRC 280 points
I have used these packs with full 20C discharge rate. Works well but not recommended. 60A discharge will puff up packs soon. Convenient and long lasting performance can be achieved with <45A consumption. Ie. Yes, you can use without problems.
 Amit 8 points
they r ok, i used with erevo ,bought a pair, one is dead(swollen) and one is still fine
Mattycnz  5 points - 3/22/2011

Hey has anyone had problems with these cells reading 0.0V? I bought two packs and have had a dozen or so runs and now 5 out of the 6 cells read 0.0V. They aren't puffy and haven't got hot or have any scorch marks anywhere. I can't figure it out...
 underthetire 409 points
No problems. Could it be your balance connector broke?
 Mattycnz 5 points
Unfortunately not, I've been reading the voltages straight off the individual cells. I think they must have been left on over night and this has killed them...
 Topgunpilott 6 points
If the batteries have any functionality at all, even bad cells would have some voltage. It sounds like either the balance connector wires have come off the cells, or maybe even your balancer is not working properly.
 JonesRC 280 points
Most probably your balancer connection is broken. But, if 0,0V is true it means that cell is dead. Check all wires, open end of pack so that you see that all wires are properly soldered. But, be carefully when open to avoid short circuit.
Racoonster  61 points - 10/7/2009

Does anyone have one of these and a tape measure? I'd like to have a verification of the dimensions, the length seems too short to be true at 108mm. This is the size of a 2200MaH.

I'd like to know if I could use in an SJM 400 Pro or Thunder Tiger Mini Titan 325. Or Trex 450 for that matter.
 mbullick 40 points
the size not including 12 awg wire is 135x45x19. per my digital calipers.
 botbot0_2 28 points
just got mine today, it is 138x45x20 and 240grams. I am using mine for eflite apprentice running through a 30 amp eflite ESC and eflite power 15 outrunner works just fine.

John has a good point! At this rate flying season will be over in Ohio by the time I get my lipo's??
 PoppyJohn 49 points
Hey Charles, We may have to wait awhile to get our Zippy 3000s. On the HC Twitter the following is annotated: 12/06/2009 8:30:01 PM
29 pallets of TURNIGY lipoly just arrived. Over $1.2M in lithium goodness. Updating and listing new items within 24hrs.
HC may want to reduce Turnigy inventory for this size LIPO before they list and deliver the Zippys. You may need to install some snow skies on you plane before we get them unless HC takes pity on us.
 PoppyJohn 49 points
PS to the above. 12/06 is June 12th in Hong Gong and they are a day ahead of us calendar wise.
 Charles 8 points
Gave up on the Zippys. Just replaced them with the Tunigy comparison and a battery Monitor for the same price. Hope the Turnigy is just as good?
PoppyJohn  49 points - 6/4/2009

This battery was indicated to be due in mid-late May and now, mid-late Jun! The back order quantity has been growing on this battery. When will they actually come in?
Gabrielle  154 points -

Yes it would have been better with a deans. Could this be requested?

 Crashinbash 222 points
we've requested these connecters on their own several times int he web forums. They used to sell this connecter back when and it'd get better amps/current rating... they just have to stock it!
 H-KING_SCOTT 5161 points
Sorry, Deans are no good for large amp batteries.
We're slowly phasing out deans t-connectors due to sparking/shorting issues with some larger capacities.
These are 4mm bullet connectors.
chris  6 points -

it would fly but a bit nose heavy. you will get longer flight times. I run 2800 lipos without any problem
 spyspeed 67 points
Thanks for your reply chris
what kind of 2800 lipo do you use? what brand and C?
 __maxi 17 points
Hi,
I fly Zippo 2200mAh in my T-REX450 XL. About 8 min. flight time with 2450 rpm. I´m fine with it.

I'm interesting with ZIPPY Flightmax 3000mAh 3S1P 20C (Z30003S-20)battery..
Can i use it on my T-rex 450S?
 Crashinbash 222 points
the dimensions are huge compared to 2000mah 3s. It'd be hard to get it in the canopy and balance the tail.
 Clemens 8 points
You may better use the 40c version for more power. But i do not own a 450S so I cannot say for sure. marddi *)

10 thumbs up!
Light weight for the maH, I managed a constant 23C discharge for over one min in a bench test, battery was warm

these will give longer flight over the 2200 version for little weight penalty

another brilliant battery from Zippy
light weight for a 3000mah, I managed 22c for 30 seconds on a bench test

and I love the 4mm plugs , I can see these taking off now deans are hell bent on stopping copys, people wont want to pay deans rip off price when this connector is cheaper and better,

and they fit standard 4mm plugs :)
