Nitromethane = horsepower, more nitro more horsepower and more nitro = more heat. 5% nitro fuel would be a good starting point, and at least 18% oil. Hope this helps.
Hi.. Sounds like the slow running is a little Rich.... With the engine Stoped, turn the slow running valve clockwise, just a little at a time.. Testing between adjustments.
Hey guys, I'm still kind of new to glow engines and have a question. I Know it's not the same engine , but I have a Kb .60 which I thought I had dialed in pretty good, but if I fly with throttle off for a bit, when I advance throttle quickly it stalls. Any advice?
1. As there is no excelerator pump in the carb, opening the throttle to fast can cause it to stall. 2. Try a hoter glow plug, most people use an OS#8, I like an OS#7, (hotter) or an OS#6 (hottest). The OS#6 is also called an "A3". 3.The carburater hi or low speed may need to be tweeked ( micro adjustments). Ask an old timer to adjust your carb.
stevegauth30, your airbleed or low speed needle is set to either to lean or to rich causing it to die upon acelleration.A good way to test this is to start you engine let it run for a few moments while giving it throttle as if you were setting the needles. let it idle for about twenty seconds then pinch the fuel line stopping fuel flow to the carberator. If it is to lean then it will die without the motor picking up in rpms if it is rich then your motor will pick up in rpms alot then die. When you cut fuel flow off from the carberator you want the engine to pick up a couple of rpms then die, try this and lean it so that it just dies then richen up the mixture a bit, that should solve your problem.
ive just done 3 tanks of fuel for break in but its been a struggle as the engine dont like being inverted?ive had to change the engine round so its upright to finish breakin.
i think its drowning the plug when inverted? anyone else had this problem?
Yes, this is a very common problem with glow engines. Try a 4 stroke glow plug, maybe a slightly faster idle, and see if a leaner low speed setting helps.
This engine will be way more powerfull than a 30 cc gasser. a 1.20 (two stroke) nitro engine can easily replace a 30 cc gasser, Nitro engines pound for pound are more powerfull than gasoline engines.
I realy like the looks of the price on this engine but I am like the rest of the guys looking please respond to some questions like reliability issues, rateings, dimentions specs, maybe an operating vidoe of engine running?
What is the name brand of these new 2 stroke engines that UH is now selling?Better pics and at least basic specs would sure help. It's not a newspaper ad UH.They don't charge buy the word! Please expand more in your descriptions when you post these products for sale. The name of the game is to sell product right?
Update:This is the A.S.P 1.80 engine. It is a ringed engine.More information can be found at justengines dot calm if your interested.Lots of spec info there compared to here.
Can we have some "build in" dimensions, please? And is there a glow plug included? (if not, are you going to sell them and which ones do you recommend?)
After ordering the ASP 180AR I was suprised to recieve the four stroke version. Thanks Hobby City!! Installation and operation of the motor was a breese. This Engine purrs like a tiger right out of the box. After 1/2 gallon break in I am flying in my Katana140 without any problems to report. Tuning was straight foward and very similar to other brand. Very pleased with this purchase and shipping time was excellent. Great job guy's

The only question I have is I am building a Dynaflight Decathalon and was thinking about this enine for it. I am going all out with the scale detail and am wondering if I could depend on this engine if installed.

I built a Dynaflite Decathalon several years ago and installed the Magnum 1.80 on it, plenty of power, but bought a FTL 45cc gas engine for almost the same price and is much cheaper to fly and it flies great with that engine. The 52cc weighs the same and is only $10 more, may want to go gas instead.
