It is my quadcopter. It is in portuguese, but I will make the subtitles.

lots of these little motors need some "forgiveness" the prop saver also helps if your profile or foamie doesn't have landing gear, so when you land in the grass or where ever if the prop is down it doesn't break the prop it will pop off the o ring or break the o ring.... you can get the o rings at hardware stores cheap!
 William 189 points
I dont use o rings. I would recommend using rubber bands. they do work well.
Lance  1 points - 10/10/2012

Your right . There barly enough sticking out to get a prop on . Great little motor but wonder why not just extend the prop shaft out at least 3/8 - 5mm ?
Lance  1 points - 10/10/2012

That sucks . Hate those stupid looking o ring. We the motor and 20amp esc was given to me so I'll use the suplied prints . It measures 3mm at the end of the shaft and it sure looks like a prop collet or spinner will work . So ONLY o rings ?
 Gary 2985 points
There isn't enough sticking out to get a collet type adaptor to work, think it will just fly off, stick to the O rings.
Lance  1 points - 10/10/2012

I have a profile plane and I need a prop for this motor and what prop bullet or collet will fit this motor ? Didn't want to use the o rings . Just don't like the looks of I rings . Thanks P
 Gary 2985 points
This motor can only be used with O rings,if using 2 cell battery that you can go up to a 9 x 4.7,on 3 cells best to keep it down to 7"props,may take an 8 x 4.3 at a push.
skip1444  10 points - 8/7/2012

Not sure about prop mounting? The shaft looks to short. Could someone give me a heads up on this. Never used anything this small.
 RC Fun 371 points
Prop mounts off the body with a rubber band or "O Ring" I use a 8x4 on 2 cell Lipo

Does the x-mount bolt directly to base of stator?
 chris9002 20 points
Yes it does. If i remember right on mine is three screws on base.

I got the GWS 8x4 propellers for this motor. My question is, what do I need to mount the prop to the motor
 Rus 11 27 points
ou use the prop direct in the motor with just the ring.
 Monsta 10 points
Just an O-Ring.
 rc speed 277 points
you need O - ring oder rubber band to connect the propeller to the motor credit me pls

When do you receive new items? I've ordered them in december - a little bit more than 15-20 days!!!
Dimdimich  121 points - 1/3/2011

Hi RC Brothers.I have 12 of these motors, these are great !!! Just some of them don,t last for long-the wires on stator break after some time of running cause of vibration or some pore quality factory soldering and I have fixed them by re-soldering, but the wires get shorter after each time.. Therefore the stator needs to be re-winded I guess....Have unwounded one of the motors,,some poles were 10,some 9 some 8 winds urological,,, very little room,,. Anyone nave tried to rewind it????? If so what gauge of wire did you use and what type of interaction (connection) have been used, maybe some new KV could be custom made??
 roberted5 104 points
If you remove the x-mount and c-clip does the rotor come off?
I rewind my 2205 stators with 11 turns of #25 Microdan wire and terminate it Wye.
Takes about 45 minutes to rewind and terminate the stator.
 roberted5 104 points
It's not worth rewinding.I didn't realize it's a 24 tooth motor.Try a Turnigy 2730-1300Kv or 1500Kv.Much better motor.
Victor  121 points - 12/12/2010

Hi there :
Anybody knows what bearings feets to this motor? or its reference ?
because the mines are coming to sound like breaked.

Thanks

I'm ordered this prop: TGS Sport 6x3E Precision propeller, but it wont fit, even with the prop adapters that came with de prop it is no good fit, anyone experience with a good fit on this motor?

I am having trouble mounting GWS DD-8040 propeller on the motor. Can anyone help me?
Do I need some kind of plastic adapter ring?

Hi,
which folding prop sold here would fit well on this motor? (3s setup)
Thanks!
 Lukash 59 points
Why would you use a folding prop? This is a motor for indoor or small outdoor shockflyer. And I am afraid that it is impossible to mount a folding prop since the motor has no shaft.
Leonardo M.  36 points - 11/30/2009

Please, can someone tell me how to fix the propeller (one with ogiva and shaft-hole of 3mm)on this motor? Can the carbon cross support be drilled for motor fixing? Thx
 Jackrr 224 points
You put the propeller on the motor, then fix it with the prop saver (that rubber ring).
The carbon cross can be drilled, though I wouldn't recommend big holes (m2 max I'd say)
 MrHmmm 63 points
The cross support can be drilled without any problem. You actually have to drill it in order to mount it on your plane.

whats a good 3d airframe for this motor?

Hi,
if HC can offer this motor around 15gr we will order 25 pieces!
Could you offer such a one?
Best Regards
Andy

I didn't need it for the moment. Like Paul, I bought it simply because I found it beautiful.

Steve.
I'm in no way trying to be rude here, but I would like to make the following clear.
1) We didnt make the motor.
2) I have seen this end-bell design in the factory for 6-9 months now, and never really entertained the idea of stocking the motor until recently.
3) The original purchaser of the motors end-bell was a Japanese customer more than 2yrs ago.
4) You said "why dont you buy the real thing". I'm not sure if that was projected towards hobbyking or it's customers. But the answer in both cases is price. We (hobbyking) nor most of our customers can afford such expensive motors as Neu, regardless of the said or actual performance.

From looking at the Neu motor and ours the only similarity I see is the end-bell design.
 Steve 29 points
Jason**you actually are suggesting that you can only sell cheap copies? Then tell me why HK has motors from Axi and Hoffman that sell for more than the Neutrino? We would be more than happy to supply you the "real deal". You might find that there is more profit in selling the name brand stuff.

Send me a e-mail and I will be happy to quote.

Steve Neu
 H-KING_SCOTT 5160 points
Hi Steve.
It's not a copy.
Believe me, if they wanted to copy yours the similarities would have gone much futher than just the end-bell.
I would call the motor "competitively priced" not cheap.

Rgds.
 Steve 29 points
It appears to be a 24 slot motor**and just how many in that size have you seen? It sure appears that it was "inspired" by our design. That said I can't stop you . I could suggest however that you might find that some of your customers would like to purchase a Neutrino from your company. We would be open to having someone in Asia sell our motors. As I said earlier you already sell some western made products that are not "competitively priced"-not cheap.

Steve Neu

 H-KING_SCOTT 5160 points
I have passed your message on to our director.
 shorebird 120 points
I ordered 2 motors only because they looked good, not knowing of the neutrino. Is it possible that Steve's motor is 4 times better. I doubt it. Sometimes you can take someones idea and make it better and less expensive. The Turnigy line of motors is top quality. Sorry Steve but good luck with your company.

Looks very interesting for Shockys!
How much will be the power with a GWS 8x4.3 and a 2S 500mAh battery?
Which "kv" has the 14g-version?
joshuyo  124 points - 5/19/2009

24 poles on this one.
 tronchaviones 824 points
and 22 magnets.

1200kv is coming in a week or two!
 Dave1 114 points
It's been quite awhile ago since you said it would be there in two weeks. I wonder when it is really coming and if it can swing a 10x4.7 APC prop.. I need about 250 grams of thrust from 2S1P 800mA lipos.
cleansurf2  388 points - 5/19/2009

1800kv is a great speed for smaller pusher prop foamies using 5-7 inch props.
Really interested to see some user static thrust tests to see if the efficiency is much better than some of the cheaper 28 size motors available here.
Courtman  14 points - 5/19/2009

Looks like a beautiful piece of equipment, too bad it's 1800kv. Is hobbycity going to stock lower kv's as well?
 Ron Smetsers 93 points
You can use a GWS 8x4,3 prop with a 2s batery, that just gives it great power with low weight (becouse you run 2s instead of 3s)
 rgmanica 139 points
So... What is the thrust with this config - 2s 8x4.3?
 Jackrr 224 points
actually this should be a 1200kv engine.
The type number is T3020-1800 and it says 1200rpm in the datasheet. Could be a typo though, as the t1811-2000 has 2000rpm and the t2211-2300 has 2300rpm. Even more confusing as it says rpm not kv.
 Gert 8 points
It is a 1800kv motor. But can a big wad of 9/4.5 good to 2s. Engine stays cool and has a lot of power!. However, I would recommend this bike with a HK 20 A regulator.

Crude test: 7*3.5GWS, old 2S, CC PH10, medusa meter, thrust measured with motor pushing on scale.

290g @7.5v * 6.5a~49w

1 better performance than my old CDRom motors and about the same as my neutrino. Weighs 25g, pity it is not lighter. AT less than 15bux you gotta have one in your collection.

10 thumbs up!
Mine came with broken windings. Not completely dead, it stuttered and behaved erratically.
First I tried a different ESC, same thing.
When I disassebled it I saw the broken wire, just 2mm from stator. I managed to solder it and put some epoxy on for isolation and mech support.
Runs fine now.

You can believe what they claim for this one. I bought the turnigy plush 10 amp to go with it since they claim 12 amp peak. Ive taken this combo to 14 amps plus a couple of times for brief periods so if you battery and prop to 12 amps then it should be bullet proof. The max thrust Ive seen on my thrust rig is around 480 grams but I think it would fry pretty quick, it is good for 350 grams constant for sure.
