X-BLADE Precision knife with replaceable SK-5 blade
High strength steel SK-5 blade cuts through most materials with ease and wont dull easily. Alloy handle with knurled collet bezel for replacing the blade makes this a long term economical choice for model making.
Made a cock-up of the web addresses, so here they are again:

Tried to upload a picture of the first ones, but that didn't work out by the look of it.
Yes, the blades are normally referred to as #11 blades, and although I haven't seen these, I would be quite confident they are the same. Will get a few packs of the HK blades as well, although I already have quite a supply, to see how they are.
If you're gonna use the knife for cutting curves in balsa or other, this one from Micro-Mark is way superior:

and the ultimate is this one:

But they are of course way more expensive.
I would guess that they'll be in stock in the next week or so, because they've been out forever. Buy extra blades when you get it, too, because they are very useful if you snap or wear down the blade that comes with it! Great tool though, highly recommended.
Theses take a bloody long time to come backin stock, I've waited 4 months for one of theses before. Its probably easier to fork out the extra money and buy one from your local hobby shop!
You haven't been asking HK to email you when it comes into the warehouse. I've bought these twice in the last month so they have been in stock. Good too aren't they?
Well, if your talking about "caught" as in a contraband - NO. Its too small and such imports are allowed all countries in parcel forms (cargo plane). And if you are talking about having to pay duties for the import - in almost all cases, no.
it was shipped with a 30min epoxy glue by international airmale in a nice small cardboard box with airprotectors inside to ensure no damage!
ps: credit my answer if you found it helpfull :)
lame molto affilate per tagliare tela, nastro adesivo,lo uso ed e comodissimo passare la lama di lato al carbonio molto leggermente fa la syessa funzione della carta vetro solo che non graffia i lati
This type of knife is a good general purpose tool but it is to short a blade for foam . If you have a lot of foam to cut, invest in a HOT wire cutter, Even a scalloped edge bread knife is better for foam.
Best for general purpose use, won't help much with cutting thick foam though. It is comfortable in the hand with good blade although mine keeps coming off prob cos I use too much force
Yes. I use this blade on foam with good results. Of course, watch for when blade starts to lose its edge and begin to "roll" the foam material. Time to change blades or strop the edge.
they were back in stock a month ago so i grabbed a heap of them and to whoever was able to get some as well would agree that for the price and quality of them that it is worth the wait to get a few of these
They get new stock every month, but you have to be really fast to get some of these knifes. You should use the mail-alert and be fast when it is in stock again!
becuase people order so many, when they get them in at 1 Am, they are gone my the time we wake up.
get you wishlist sent to your email, email sent as TXT to your fone. you will be suprised how often then get stuff in and how fast its gone.
I have seen some items on back order for over six months. A pain when you've paid for it, eh? I now make a practice of ordering only stocked items and cancelling out of anything that is back ordered. Sometimes, other sites will stock what you need for similar prices. See RC groups for some of these. I was waiting for a Tx neck strap fitting to come on stock and was thrilled to find an equivalent in NZ for 45pcnt of the price. Whilst HK is well worth checking out and following, there are other
Very Economically Priced. These knives are really worth the money and effort. The best part of this is they come with protection cap. It will accept multiple size blade not just #5. Hardened steel gives a nice finish and a good grip on the holding grooves. Easy to use in right or left hand. Good for cutting circles in balsa or foam. Be careful, the blades are too sharp like surgical blades. you wont get a second chance with them. Extremely sharp. I wish these blades could come with spare caps.
This knife matches my existing hobby knife that cost around six times the price. The blades are an exact match for the expensive one. Time will tell how the edge on the blade will hold up, but with the price of the replacements, who cares if they don't last as long??
i bought 2 of these for under a dollar from H.K. where as they cost 4 times as much at my local hobby store, The handle will accept multiple blades so it is not only capable of the no.5 blade
