Changed ESC's with the same result. Not sure what I need to do to get this running at 11500KV. Is my motor bad? I am going to try a out-runner that is listed with the same rating and see how it turns out. IMHO the data is off on this motor or my motor has a short.
brandon  10 points - 4/16/2013

will this work with walkera v120
jason  3 points - 4/15/2013

Are your guys sure this thing is 11500kv? I have it on a 6amp ESC with a 350mah 1s cell and it is no where near the power of the other motors I have with that KV rating. I must be doing something wrong.
jason  3 points - 3/18/2013

How many poles on this motor? Setting up a ESC for it and need to know. Hard to count on a inrunner. Might be nice to add it to the specs.
 magnusEl 1215 points
Hi jason. This motor has 2 magnetic poles.

Guys, would it fit in a genius cp v2?
Roland68  4 points - 2/18/2013

Hi, you don't need a Datasheet, because you have only one possibility for the propeler. The only choose is the prop from the Walkera Ladybird, please not bigger!
Ugnius  3 points - 2/18/2013

Where I can find datasheet of it? I need to choose propeler.
Camboui  133 points - 1/21/2013

Would this motor be OK with the "35mm Ducted Fan Set" at 1s ? (idProduct=18884 or ProductId=F18-35-EDF) Thanks.
Josh  6 points - 1/4/2013

possibly. the higher the kv the faster the motor spins. but since the 2900kv motor is ment for 2 cell lipo, it should have more power. it also depends on how you gear the motor.
Danos  16 points - 1/2/2013

Are C10 Micro brushless outrunner 2900kv more powerful than this? Thanks
nemoskull  49 points - 12/4/2012

ugh. when will be back in stock!!!!?!
 William 194 points
7-31 days.
 nemoskull 49 points
next question, what date did they go out of stock?
Anirudh  7 points - 10/28/2012

Dis would be de ultimate upgrade for a walkera ladybird if you could ever hook it up to de same chip board..... Is that even possible..... *)
 Sheek 49 points
It's possible if you can create 4 individual motor holders for it and get 4 separate speed controllers to power it. At that rate, you might as well buy the Turnigy Micro Quad.

ok my question is, this should fit in the parkzone/ eflite gearbox and i was wondering what esc i will need. will it run on 1S????
 glenn_mech 314 points
susan,
1.i dont think this will fit exactly with parkzone/eflite.
2.you should used brushless esc..but try to look micro reciever/esc/servo combo.here in HK.
3.im sure this will run with 1s,and this motor was designed for 1s,but most people who buy this used 2s set up, and it works well..it did not burned the motor.

It's 1.5mm too wide to fit in the UM gear boxes :( I was thinking the same thing

Does anyone know if this will fit the Losi Micro-T without modifying the motor mount?

what kind of prop/prop adapter can be used with this motor? this 1mm shaft width is very particular, i wonder if a prop saver can be used to the trick? any advice on this matter would be very appreciated.
 magnusEl 1215 points
What are you planing to use it for? It is not a good choice for driving a prop with this high Kv.
This is a good motor to use with GWS 30mm fan, but will probably burn with a 2" prop on 2 cells.
 NY255 1 points
hi magnus, sorry for the late reply i just noticed. i am building a mini quadcopter, i wonder if i might have chosen the wrong motor.
 magnusEl 1215 points
Then I think it would be better to use a outrunner instead.
Turnigy 1400 Kv3000 or Kv4500 depending on max prop size.
Use the search function to easy find them.
 nemoskull 49 points
gws 2508 and gws2510 have the right shaft diameter. do not get the 'other brand'. can not way how well this work. an Aero Ace propeller can be drilled out to 1mm and works better than the gws25XX on 7mm brushed motors. should work on this motor.

Would This Be a good brushless replacement for the Eflite Blade Mcpx?...what would be?
What Speed controller do I use
 Sutherland 1 points
I am using the TURNIGY Plush 6A /.8bec/6g Speed Controller. Unfortunately these are now on back order again but they are very good for the price once they are in stock. I am running them on 2s however if you are running on 1s then there are a host of small 1s controllers that would do the trick on here.
 giuseppi 30 points
These motors, as well as the 1220 and 1230 Turnigy require M1.4 machine screws for mounting.

M1.6 as was previously suggested will not fit.

Two M1.4 Machine Screws are required for mounting.

These have been on backorder forever and a day!
Any idea when we can expect some?

Hi!

Can anyone please tell me what size of mounting screws I need for this little motor?
 NitroCharged 303 points
It needs 1.4mm screws
 Ryan 41 points
WRONG...1.6mm
 mary 2 points
the screws you need are called m1.6 screws
MegaTesla  576 points - 9/8/2009

This marks the beginning of something great! Now everyone with a GWS EDF30 can get a drop-in brushless motor replacement! Fantastic!
 NitroCharged 303 points
I just hope it has the torque. It might be we will need to run this on 3 blades and 3S. *-)

Only testing will tell. I'll be sure to post my results.
 Roy O 159 points
We already know that a more massive high KV motor is at the breaking point on 3S. I'm just hoping it will work on 2S but if it don't I will still have some applications for it on 1S.
Maybe they will come out with a longer can rated at 5KV. That would be perfect for a 30 mm EDF.
 NitroCharged 303 points
Not sure what you based that on. I have run the 1220 on 3S with 6 blades and heatsink in a 30mm edf with no problems. *-)

there small motors when i got one i could knot belev
moritzz06  15 points - 9/8/2009

Hi,
Does somebody knows if it will fit in the Losi Micro-T?
And will it work with the Losi 1/36 ESC and the gear?

Thx,
moritzz
 fathead431 575 points
no, this only runs on 3.7v and the losi runs on about 5v
anything below 5v wont be enough because a reciever and servo that is needed with a brushless esc will require at least 5v.
theres a geared system for planes that runs a similar motor which i believe can take up to around 7v.
turnigy sells 12XX motors and b12 - XX motors
go into the brushless motors section and sort them by size and select the smallest sized motors. ull find it there.
 NitroCharged 303 points
The main thing is this shaft is 1mm in diameter, the Losi pinion is for a 1.5mm shaft.
 Bobby 36 points
put some thread lock in to make up for the .5mm
 ceandre 39 points
Maybe it's fits on original Walkera UFO5 motor holder?
 phil alvirez 32 points
the ad shows a gearbox with it, but comes without it. the ad should mention that it is only the motor, and provide a link to the gearbox so the customer can buy it.
 mary 2 points
no unless you make a custom motorplate sorry

10 thumbs up!
I bought the motor to be used in a GWS 30mm fan and the motor runs good. Using a 3 blade impeller the current is 3.7 A, power 28 W, RPM - 76000plus, thrust - 58 gm. In this configuration temperature does not look like a factor. I tested with a 2S Rhino 360 mah pack.

5 thumbs up!
I got mine over the weekend and i was absolutey blown away at how small it is for a brushless motor, well it is 10mm and it fits the 30mm EDF perfectly. It does not com with screws, but i had some screws from an old cellphone that fit. I bought the Turnigy plush 6A/.8bec/6g speed controller, hooked it all up runs good, I will be useing this on a F22 RAPTOR made out of depron. will be buying more when it gets back in stock.

Nice little motor. I'm running it in a GWS 30mm EDF on two cells. It's only designed for one cell operation so as expected on two cells it gets very hot, but has so far survived.
You need two M1.6 screws to mount it.
