No, not really. It will basically lose 25% of its power. Yes, it would work, it would not damage anything electrically, but it would possibly be severely underpowered, not to mention it might screw up your center of gravity, causing your plane to be light in the nose. Better to be a little heavy than a little light out front. A plane that is light in the nose can be almost impossible to fly and or land.
i have the d2830 1000kv motor for my quad..so thats 4 motors. can i use this battery for it or should i go for a bigger one. im still new to quadcopters.
Those props would be just fine using a 4s. The flight times might not be that long, get couple of these. If you go to rcsearch, you can find a buddy code, $12.57 each. You can get 3 of these for $12 each.
First you need to add 1 to your cart using the link from rcserach. It should cost $12.57. Then go to your cart and update the quantity of the LiPos to be 3 instead of 1. It will give you the 3 for $12 each. When you are finally placing your order, just remember to check that you are getting them for the cheaper price.
Receive mine few days ago and did not charge yet, but the pack is already bulging as if its already being use lots of time!!! and one cell is badly imbalance between the others... whats wrong with HK??? i know the pack is way cheaper than the other brands but this is a rip off... What do you guys think for getting stuff like this???
Friend, I received the same battery totally dead and bloated and grumbled a kyle claimed that the problem was my past 30 days that ja had put live in Brazil and the goods were taxed then took further how we can confirar this type of care
I charged the lipo full and leave it for two days without using, the bloated soft part came back to normal like the other 3 cells, but the one cell that was bloated remains unbalanced. The charged on that one cell fill up quicker and also discharged quicker than the other 3 cells. Maybe its a different "C" they put in... C'mon HK i support u all the way, please have a little decency in your product..
I just received two of these and they work fine. Heaps of power and about the same or greater runtimes than my 3S Lipos. Here's a quick video of the test on Youtube.
So, from the lipo point of view, maybe i received a bad batch before they stock up new ones like you (WiseDuck) got now. Will order more soon, comparing the price and the punch to other types is unbeatable!! :)
I wish they had Zippy Compact 2200mah in stock. It seems to weight over 50 grams less and still has a high enough C rating to make full use of the DJI motors. Unfortunately, that pack hasn't been in stock for a while. That's the one I would try if I could.
Is it better to fly the DJI with a 4S rather than 3S? just a figure of interest, i've been flying all my Quads with 3S. Asking for your opinion WiseDuck.
I'm not sure I can answer that one. For me 4S migth bet a better solution. With 3S it hovers at 60% throttle, now it hovers around 45%. So I have a lot more power and the motors seem to run just fine. However, some say that the stock 10" props do NOT like 4S, the motors get too hot. But with Graupner props this hasn't been an issue. Im heading out soon to test the batteries again.
With 4S wouldn't it be better with and 8" prop? i'm flyin quads under 1kg using 8" props (8x4.5) and Quads under 1.5kg with 10" props (10x4.5). The motor is cool, the ESC is not even warm. Yes using 3S im hovering at 55%-60% throttle. Maybe i'll give it a go with this 4S like u said (need to check if my ESC and motor supports 4S 1st).
I want all the lift and speed I can get and 10" props seem to give me plenty of both. 9" Graupners would probably be the best compromise, but this setup works so I won't fiddle too much with it. Also, graupner props are expensive and hard to find. Now, 9" props would cut down on the jello significantly, so I might invest in some later down the road. We'll see.
Got something to report. The lipo buzzer beeped the other day when I went full throttle with a full pack, but the flight lasted the usual length. And today the lipo buzzer went off THE moment it was hooked up to a fully charged battery. It indicated that cell 4 was lower than the rest. But my chargers say that each cell is at 4.22, all 4 of them. I'm not sure whats going on, but Im cycling the pack. Maybe I did get a dud like some others here. Dang.
Seems like one cell is wonky. I discharged the lipo with my Accucel 8 and it eventually threw a "cell too low" error at me. The other cells were at 3.3, the bad cell was at 2.94 which means it has now sustained damage. Great. Guess I'm gonna have order some Zippy Compact 4S 2200mah as soon as they're back in stock!
Bad to hear that WiseDuck.. i think this lipo is assembled with one bad cell or the cell divider board attached to the wires is somewhat faulty. Don't quite sure which is which, that's why its cheaper than the rest, i'm ordering the Zippy Compact for now, see how it goes..
every point is very importante..battery,motor,ESC,servoscontrol horns ,wires, connectors ,Rx,Tx,expo, travel adj,prop...but the most important i think is the propper center of gravity or CG.
seriously what would happen if someone would test it with a 5C charge? Would it just charge faster or blow up? What's the highest C's have you charged yours?
