hi, cant enter the programming mode. i just hear 10 beeps and then a music tone.
I tried every channel mormal and reverse but nothing happens. any solution for my problem?
can some one please help me as trying to understand how these work. I have a T-23 Thunderbird Helli and when my 2.4 receiver arrives i do not wont to reck it and i no i need a ESC to work it all, but do not no if i have to buy 2 ESC's as 2 motor's also i do not no what speed they run at nor amp, so first of all can i use just 1 ESC if so how do i connect it up is there a wire diagram, and the same thing if i need 2 ESC's, so please can someone help me with this need help badly.
I dont think it can, there is no mention of the ESC being able to be programmed with a card, has to be done with the Tx stick which is very simple to do.
Thanks pilots, I really appreciate the quick response. I've been flying fixed winged aircraft for 20 yrs., now I'm trying my hands at Heli's. I like ordering from Hobby King they got a lot of great stuff at an affordable price, which is a good thing for us old military vets. Thanks again gentlemens. Have a happy and safe flight.
Ok so I have this ESC installed on a HK500 CMT TT. This version only has the 4 beeps, which would mean 4 programming sections that can be programmed. Does anyone know what each parameter is for 1 - 4 beeps? Is there a programming table anywhere for the 4 beep version? The ESC is doing a hard start in which I need to change to soft start.
You can also use for aircraft ...
The difference is that this one has a settable "Governor Mode" function , serving exclusively in helicopters.
I hope I was helpful.
Greetings.
The "governor mode" manages the current to the electric motor, with the objective of maintaining constant revolutions of the rotor, in spite of the load increase/decrease due to increase/decrease the step.
I hope to be of help.
Greetings.
Rishan... Its not optimum match for 450heli, its Energy losses would be much more compared to a smaller ESC, its heaver too, so these factors contribute to loss of flight time.
Eu comprei este esc para meu HK500, utilizo baterias de 6s, e meu motor suporta 4S, como programar o ESC entrar 6s e sair 4s para fornecer somente 4s para o motor?
How do you calibrate the throttle for this ESC? I have 'Auto Throttle Range' set, but no 2 beeps with throttle in high position on start up! Throttle End Points are 100/100 and throttle trim is Zero! If I give the throttle a burst when ready (heli starts far too quick), I then hear (short music, 2 Beeps, pause, short music again, 3 Beeps). Is this asking to be calibrated???
I just received this ESC yesterday and it is identical to the Red Brick 80A (heli mode) which I bought months ago! Only difference is color of heat-shrink wrapping and heat sink! Also this one is about $5 cheaper! I have the same problem on both of them the soft start does not work and there is no option to change it via the transmitter. Does anybody know if a programming card will work with them? I know the TURNIGY BESC Programming Card does not work with them because I have this card. Or can the firmware be re-flashed?
Looks like an RedBrick are not the same!No the 80A RedBrick hase 5 Options and the 125A RedBrick hase 6 Options. This HK SS70/80A hase only 4 Options and works without any Programm Card. And the BEC are 5V whithout Load, with 1,5A are 4,8V and with 2,9A are 4,6V.
No that's not what I mean ESPACE17! I said Hobbyking SS Heli Series 70-80A ESC w/UBEC is the same physically as HobbyKing Red Brick 80A ESC - (Heli Mode)
Both are 80A Max with 5V/5A UBEC and take 2 to 7 Lipos and are set for Heli mode. The ones I have, both have 6 options by radio! They both have the Hobby King brand name because they are the same ESC with a different cover!!!
A lot of ESCs can have their firmware modified! But that means pulling it apart and attaching wires and reprogramming with computer. Just Google (ESC specs for Simonk / BLHeli FW flash) exactly what's in the brackets and 4th link down will show a spreadsheet page and links of how to do it! But only if firmware is upgradable. And only for someone who knows what they are doing....
You have wrote:
Please be advised that the ESC no longer supports the other programming options and the 4 is quite normal. I have requested that the page be updated. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please check the files tab for the new manual.
But no find the new manual with 4 Options!
i use this esc for the hk500 with default settings. no programming is needed, just programm a normal throtle-curve on your transmitter... i do not like the beep-programming steps, makes me crazy!
hello everyone, I bought one of those but as all of you guys I couldn't get into option 5 and 6 so as a result my 4300 kv edf motor was burned so anyone knows how could we get to those options????
help please
There is various problems with programming these ESC's. For example, I cannot set up normal startup. Everything else is okay, you can run trough menu by listening the beeps, you can select your required setting and option, but you cannot save it. Well, at least they doesn't cost over $100. You get for what you pay.
I got one of these, but not the heli version by mistake, to use in heli. The start is too hard, even in soft mode. This heli version have the governor option, but the start options are the same. Is the soft start of the heli version softer them the regular version ? Thanks
Running a HK Typhoon 1700-1850mKv motor with a 13 tooth pinion on 5 cells. I am using the speed controler Straight out of the package and it works GREAT!!! Running 4 servos for HKGT T-Rex 500. Fits under the battery tray in the front of a HKT-Rex 500. Scott
Using this in a hk-500t. I had trouble with the download of the whole manual but seems to be just fine with the plug and play after the cutoff in set. With a 1600kv from Hobby City it gets the job done. Its not stellar but because of the price and the fact that it does what it says I give it 5 stars!
This is a real value for money speed controller. However, I recommend not to buy it for helicopters, because when I tried it on Governor mode, 2-4 poles, it will not reach full speed, I think it's governing to a speed, but not to what's coming from my RC receiver control. The heatshrink is cut in a square to expose the heat sink which is good for many applications, but as I'm using in boats, I'll have to block it to epoxy seal the unit. If doing this, use bluetack to fill all the holes other than where you are filling from.
Good ESC but the governor mode is not really usable. I tried my best and tested all possible combinations of settings. Anyway, the manual is lacking the information on how to set up a governor. This could be still a good ESC for a 500 size heli if the BEC was 6V instead of 5V. Hope HobbyCity reads this.
A nice ESC for a goodf price. But it is not recommended for gliders because there is not break at all. Heli-pilots have fun, wing-pilots will have problems with non-folding folding-props and turning props taht might break while landing...
