Do you like fast planes? Then you will love the new HobbyKing Pylon Racer! Built from Fiberglass, laser cut plywood and balsa for a ridgid, slippery, fast and furious model, the Pylon Racer takes a high Kv 29mm diameter motor for extreme prop driven airspeed and Included with the kit is basic hardwear and a 6x4 foldering propeller and spinner.
Good morning, I bought the fiberglass shaft and not the manual to assemble it would have a file that someone could help me? My email is rodrigodrumond16*hotmail****
thank you
Check the body, check the wings, my was not in the center line, use fiber to strengten nose, I cut out the firewall and glue it back with resine. Make sure that you use a carbone flat rod, to reinforce the elevator!!!! CG is at 53mm from the leading edge! If you will use a 80g motor, and 3s 2200mah it will not work, the plane will be tail heavy! For that CG you will need cca 100g motor if you want to run it on 3s 2200mah! Well you can use 2x 3s 2200 in parare. The weight of LiPo must be from 250g-340g. If you wil use 80g motor, run on 4s 2650mah to 3300. Weight to fly cca 850g.

I have recived the plan. It was in double box package.Good package, undamage. BUT the body of the plane is a little bit twisted, the nose of the body is not round, under the body, where the wing is bolted on, the surcafe is not flat! The elevator hole is tooooo big and off center!
I hope that I can solve the wing/body problem... Any ideas or help are welcome!!
www.link will have to balance the prop as both of mine were out and grind the opening out of the spinner to fit the prop and put a spacer behind it from the plastic spinner to keep the prop blade off the back plate , bit of work but end result is worth it . and I used the 2836 Edf motor . hope this helps
John if that was a buddy code Please Please list it in the Forums. I is not too hard. If not I hope it was nice for a great little bird. She is so so nice
Gyus i flew mine about 30 times with an 4s 2200'mamp 80 esc and 2580 kv hyperion prop was 5.5/4.75. This thing rock. We clocked it at 210 km. unfortunatly my aileron servo got stuck and i crashed it yesterday. But its so nice that i am ordering one more now . Be very carefull with the CG try to keep it forward. As for hand launch it is easier to hold it from the top of the fuselage with 75% power and just push it hard in the air again be carefull because the wing is so small and the torque is so Strong that tha plane tand to leave your hand in a left bank. Otherwise it is fast and great . You will enjoye it
carolos nice to Know. It is guys like you that do not get enough rewards. I wish I could do some thing for you. I would be nice to have her in Aus too.
About 50-55 mm behind leading edge , I use a 2200 4s and it almost right behind the motor . it's bout right I think , elevator is fairly responsive and even more so flat out
Dylan.g there is a very good manual for a Red Espeedflier which looks very much like the Blue Pylon. Funny enough the small file is the better one. It is full of color pictures.
way too late of a response but ef-1 fuselages need to meet certain specs and get pre approved. this is not. also, no approved motor will fit in this i.e. power 25 from eflite.
I followed every specification on the "pylon racer"video review and bought the same equipment and fly tested this morning. I believe because of the temperature here is hotter my engine died with the proposed 6x4 prop. For some reason the "turnigy 2836- 3200" engine could not handle such prop. Should i go for the 5x5 prop??? Also the wires in this engine have to be folded really tight and might have created a* short circuit. im guessing a inrunner engine would do the trick.I ran it with a single nano tech 2200 mha 3s battery ran out of power in 3 minutes :( what battery set up would you recommend for longer fly time. Thanx
Thank you Mattbrito. I just got my hands on a motor i had on a boat www.link its 2100 kv and used the same prop engine delivered but got super hot... i then changed to a 7x4 and seems it works better, still hot but not as much.. i wonder what would happen if i get a 4 cell in there
I to used the same setup except for different prop and on a 4s lipo .I used a 4.75x4.75 and with the HK watt Meter maxed out out 1018 watts and 73 amp , maybe the hot conditions and the larger prop is what did it , it's like 28 deg C here and motor is fairly warm after 4 min flight but not Hot hot.
Hey guys, question here about this plane, I am using the suggested Turnigy 2836-3200KV motor and Hobbywing 60A pentium ESC, 6x4 prop and 3S 2200 mAh setup, should I add a piece of fiber glass disc between the firewall/motor mount and the motor since I am not sure if my setp will cause excessive heat to build up on the motor?
55mm is better and 50mm ( from the leading edge at the wing root right were the wing contacts the fuse) is ever better This plane is much more pitch stable with nose heavy CG as most racers are for some reason.
I make an order for this plain in March too. Why the blue one is still backorder? I am very angry at this situation. HK, Reply to all subscribers of blue plane....!
I agree....
A friend ordered a red one which is due to arrive this week. Will take the red one and give him a blue one as soon as our 3 (three!!!) blue versions arrive. I'm DESPERATE!!! We have pylon racing planned!!!
Guys i managed to upload a manual for this plane as Hobbyking does not have one for this plane and does not send one with it. Please click on the files tab.
Awesome, great work. Can't wait to get mine in the air.

2 thumbs up!
I have this same plane from a different source. It was called a Swallow from that vendor.
I used a 3100 kv 450 sized motor in mine. It was a custom wind that I did to take 30 amps continuous.
Using a 4.75 x 4.75 prop it would break 100mph without much problem. Some people guessed 120, but they were just guesses. I used two HXT 9 gram servos for split aileron control, flaperon/spoileron mix to help with landings.
When assembling this plane, it is essential to check to make sure that the wing is parallel to the horizontal stabilizer. Mine was off a little & made it difficult to control unit I shimmed the wing saddle to straighten the wing.
I will be buying another one once they come back in stock. I haven't seen these offered anywhere for at least a year. Mine is showing lots of abuse & I'd like to set one up for 4 cell.

I just received this plane yesterday. Ordered it about a week ago. The pictures do not do this plane justice. The finish on the plane is perfect!!! Very solid construction, beautiful paint. Do not hesitate to pull the trigger on this one. The price is well worth it. Plus I think it looks nicer than alot of the other more expensive pylon planes out there. Now I need to figure out what setup to put in it , any suggestions? It looks as though there is plenty of room for a 4 or 5 s lipo.

I recieved this plane last week.. very impressed with the presentation. the box was extreemly well packed, gelcoat finish on the fuse was perfect. wings also strong. The only thing i didnt like, is the included spinner and folding prop.. there is no way it will hold up at 20,000 revs let alone the planned 40,000 revs. The prop is held onto the spinner by 1 screw each side that is just tapped into the thin plastic.. still trying to work out a combe that will give me about 200kph...
