Just bought this charger and dont know much about it. Is it normal for the display to dissapear after you press the start button and does the built in fan actually work?
 tommy2toes 2085 points
yes if your puting a two cell on the left it is normal for the display to disapear all should be plugged in from right side to display and the extra two cell can be put on the left to charge two at a time. as for the fan it should turn on by itself mine runs this is the second one i bought they work great for me. thats not a start button its a reset button anyway no need to touch it dont. hope this helps credit me if it does. thanks tommy

What power supply can you use?
 EclipseCommando 5 points
all u do is connect red and black to your car battery, it doesn't have a normal charger plug. this is a balancer but it also chargers when it's balancing. I've got on and I charge a 3s which takes around 1hr to charge :)

Any decent quality 12-18VDC 3A-5A power supply should be fine for running this charger. A car battery charger will also work, as they put out approx. 15VDC. The input plug is pretty much the standard type that come with lots of electronics running off wall power supplies. I just cut one off a discarded power supply and soldered it onto the power supply I'm using for this charger. Cheers!

peco: i purchased it ,connected it to a 12 v car battery, its not charging at all. it will show you the percentage of current in each cell., but that is all it does.no charging

maybe hold the right button down and it will start charging, most chargers are the same...Make Sure You Have The Right Battery Type Selected!!!..just incase you did'nt know. And If you dont know much about lipo's,please read up on them. Its a must if you dont like house fires ect'.If you do ignore this post, hehe

have you left it long enough to charge( generally 1-1.5hrs) It charges through the balance plug so if you can see your cell balance it should be charging.. Is your battery puffy? Can you check it via Multi meter?
 EclipseCommando 5 points
Their is a switch under the screen, put that to 2.0, that switch controls the charging rate, so if u have a large battery like 5,000mAh it will not charge at the lowest rate which is 0.5. hope this helps!

only one battery type lipo on this charger.foolproof
 tommy2toes 2085 points
put the switch on lowest setting and check the fuse on the side if its blown or not connected tight it will do this it shows dispay due to power from the lipos your charging so it fools you to beleive the fuse is good check its not. if this helps be sure to credit the best help. tommy

one of our club members done a bulk buy of these chargers (5) for us. some of them are o/k most have problems. unlucky me has no charge output for cell 2 and some dead display sections. some others don,t show correct cell pcnt and have problems finishing the charge but when checked with several other devices the battery is o/k and finish fine with even cells.SPEND A COUPLE OF MORE $$ AND GET ONE OF THERE BETTER ONES.

good entry level charger, can charge 2 x 2s or 1x 3 / 4s
comes with 'gator clips for field use, you will need to supply a ~12v source for home use. good for small to medium mA cells, max charge rate of 2A.
