Hi I need to know if u can use this receiver and transmitter with a R/C boat.
 EODPete 181 points
Yes, Channel one is the right stick left and right, channel two is the right stick up and down (I would use this for throttle as it centers) and 3 is left stick up and down, normally used as throttle, however it doesnt center, and may cause problems arming yout ESC. If you were to use this only for a ground vehicle and wanted throttle on the left, I would look up the mode 1 version of this transmitter.

That's the problem:There was no box to check for my Bonus points.Just issue me credit -OK.
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Ronnie H I am just a member like you. So if you got the 3rd check out screen and you should see the BOX. So first screen is the CART CONTENT (step 1), the second screen is Check Out (step 2) and third screen is Check Out (step 3). Step3 is where it should show your credit. You then can tick the box. If it is not showing there and is showing on your "View My Account" screen, then contact Live CS. Also you are a Gold Member and can reply to questions.
Ronnie H  16 points - 4/18/2013

I want to purchse a receiver, will you credit my $2.75 in Points?
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Ronnie H when you complete your order you will be asked if you want to use you 2.75 credit. Now you can only use credits for items (not postage) and you cannot use credits with gift vouchers. So Good Buying!

So now I,m confident the THROTTLE will be on the left(Mode 2)Now this may be silly but the control stick will travel up & down if the transmitter is being held up-right in normal fashion of-course:) Secondly I plan on using this Transmitter for multi projects.I know their are fancier transmitters that make this a little simpler but $$$ is a huge issue right now.So long as I purchase HK compatible receivers or even more simple if I,m only involved with one project at a time I technically can swap the receiver that comes with the TX into a electric buggy,Boat, & possibly a park plane????I know years ago due to frequency issues this would not be a good idea but with 2.4 technology I can pull this off,or am I missing something? Lastly does this TX RX system have good range?I should at least get the range my NOW VINTAGE AIRTRONICS SR used to get?Yes?No? Thanks for your time,I do appreciate it,Capt.Larry & son Zephyr
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Larry like WOW it is better to break your questions down into small parts. But I guess you just need to get it all out at once. SO YES YES YES and YES, about 800m but there is a little 3 channel receiver that works with this as well. It is cool because it has a built in fail safe. Hobby King GT-2 2.4Ghz Receiver 3Ch (SKU: HK-GT2_RX). Lastly Larry have you consider the 6 channel TX???

I bought my plane 2-15-2013 many other items as in transmitter, batteries etc all in Febuary. I bought 7 weeks ago.I did get my radio back Thanks to all for the help.I also never got any instruction, manuals or any how to with the rc items hard to know as a newbee.I did get the manual after searching a long time.
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Well the Manual is now under the Purple File Tab above NOW. The fact you are still a standard user is a PAIN. So you need to chat to LIVE CS (Again). Ask about being made a Gold member. It is meant to be 14 days after first buy. So I think you have waited enough. It is so hard to help when you cannot reply! SORRY.
Curtis  12 points - 3/30/2013

NO. I FINALLY RECEIVED A NOTICE OF SHIPPING? I NEVER RECEIVED ANY INSTRUCTION WITH MANY OF THE BIG ITEMS I BOUGHT . LEAVES A NEWBEE LIKE MYSELF HANGING IN THE BREEZE.ALSO I JUST TRIED TO BUY ANOTHER TRANSMITTER FROM THE USA WAREHOUSE AND THEY KEEP TRYING TO CHARGE ME THE HIGHER SHIPPING AND FULFILMENT FROM THE INTERNATIONAL HOUSE.I HAD THE TRANSMITTER ON BACKORDER WATCH THEY SENT NOTICE OF IN STOCK USA WAREHOUSE.CAN NOT ORDER FROM USA WAREHOUSE?I CAN'T JUSTIFY THE EXTRA COST? THANKS FOR YOUR INFO CURT.
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Curtis so some success but not much. If you go to the international warehouse listing for this item, the file and manuals are back there NOW. Go there and look under the Purple File Tab you will find a manual there. Also some software "Software, settings: default and Kinetic " which I must look into! They are out of stock here, but once they come back in stock, you should be able to buy. Consider putting you email address, in the "STOCK ARRIVAL ALERT". You will get an email if they ever come in!
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Curtis how long ago did you pay for you first HobbyKing ITEM. You are still a standard user. The norm is 14 days after you buy you get a Gold status and can reply. So it may be worth looking into with Live CS. Some members are saying they bought a month ago but are still not up graded.
Curtis  12 points - 3/28/2013

Hi thanks for the info I did not know about this until after the fact,i still do not kno what is hapening with the transmitter ? Curtis
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
So do you have it back or does HK still have it? I do find with HobbyKing it is a bit of FIND YOUR OWN WAY. It would be nice if, as a new member you got a welcome to HK Pack. Just to let members know what is what. It took me a month to find this too!
Curtis  12 points - 3/26/2013

Hi I bought a 9x 9-ch turnigy transmitter/receiver. I could not get it to work with the new plane I also bought. I was told after talking to support several times to get a rma and return transmitter for service or replacement. I sent it back with tracking it got back in 2 business days . I was told it functioned correctly because one switch as not set right. I tried it exactly as it came out of the box I have waited over 3 weeks and not a sign of it or any answers. I'm realy loosing my interest in buying more from hobbyking there service seems non existant.i have been waiting very patiently
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Curtis this is why we (The Members are here). Why did you not contact us! HERE! We are all keen to help. It is very hard for LIVE CS, to do a great deal. They cannot see what you are doing. If you can get a Specialist it is better. Cs will not always put you to them. They do there best. The Turnigy9XV2 is a great System. I have both. This one is very simple and great for beginners.
Amy  6 points - 3/13/2013

Buyers be ware! This transmitter receiver combo arrived with a defective receiver. After months of trying to work with customer service to resolve the issue, they refunded less than $9 for the receiver* no offer to ship me a new one at their expense. And you can't order just the receiver from the America warehouse! Killer customer service at Hobby King!
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Amy sorry to hear that! How did you know the receiver was dead. It is very light. So postage to Aus is only $3. So postage to USA, could not be much. When I buy I buy 2 6ch and 1 x 3 channel for a total weigh of under 100g. Please consider. I know it is hard. You could have posted it back to them but that would cost POSTAGE and is more that it is worth. Please come back! Also consider using a buddy code to buy (it will save you too)
Michael  27 points - 3/3/2013

what kind of battery do i buy for the receiver?
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Michael I do not know why HK does not put this on the listing! 8 x AAs either rechargeable or one use batteries. HobbyKing have some LSD (low shelf discharge) batteries. Also a great new 1.6v rechargeable. Have a look in the battery section. Also there is a great Lipo made to fit in that slim battery bay (A little soldering needed). Turnigy 1450mAh 3S 11.1v Transmitter Lipoly Pack (SKU: T1450-TX-3)
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
MICHAEL I am so sorry!!! All the batteries I gave you were for the TRANSMITTER! FOR THE RECEIVER YOU NEED a Esc (with a Ubec built in) or 4 AAs or Ni-ZN 4.8V 1500mAh Receiver Pack (SKU: 9169000004) or Turnigy LSD 4.8V 2300mAh Ni-MH Flat Receiver Pack (SKU: 9169000007) and other in the Batteries & Accessories \ Rx/Tx Batteries.

My other question,,if there is no way to make my raido milder so I can control my quad,,, is there an adapter system so I can use my Walkera 2801 pro radio with this reciever? Got a real nice quad kit here and want to fly it but this radio is just too touchy... Daniel
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Daniel the DR setting is what you wish. At 100% servo movement is a lot, 50% movement is half and so on.
 Daniel 21 points
So how to I re program my TX for slower controls>? Do I need a jumper cable from my computer...? When I looked for a owners manual I found some type of down load programs ,,,,is that what I am looking at? Daniel
 Rexy03 1062 points
No you can not do that with this transmitter, it is not programable
 Rexy03 1062 points
I may be wrong here as I have just read that it can be programmed, if this is the case you will need Hobby King 2.4Ghz 6Ch Tx USB Cable PRODUCT ID: FS-L001 then you will need T6Config software

Daniel this is all done in the software. You can easily adjust that!

 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Daniel and Rexy03 it do think you will need to go inside the case. It may be similar to the Turnigy9XV2. You may need to solider a port, onto the board. I do think, it is really not worth the trouble. I thing a manual change to horns and servo arms would be easier. IE small arms (close to the centre) and larger horn.

HEY Guy's,My last radio(TX) was a AIRTRONICS SR I bought for my Hornet back in the 80's...My specific question is about the "MODE 1" & "MODE 2".I beleive I undersatnd this concept but I really need someone who is sure to school me in this.I am used too having the left control stick as the throttle & moving up & down, this is what I still want. Now will Hobbyking & other online dealers offten use the same photo in the description of the radio?I think this is what confuses me most as I have seen MODE 1 & MODE 2 IN DESCRIPT. PIC'S AND BOTH LOOK LIKE THE LEFT CONTROL STICK ONLY GOES LEFT & RIGHT-NOT up & down./ ???Thanks
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Larry So lets keep it simple, the one you want is mode 2. This one here. Mode 2 has the throttle on the left hand side. Good Flying!

Larry So lets keep it simple, the one you want is mode 2. Mode 2 has the throttle on the left hand side. The problem is that the guys, taking the photos try to use one photo as much as they can. Hence the mix up, you see else where. At HobbyKing you will see all sticks (mostly) centered! Good Flying!

can this remote control be used on a nitro rc car
thanks
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
Scott yes yes. But it does not have a built in fail safe like the 3 channel receiver. So grab a 3 channel receiver as well ( Hobby King GT-2 2.4Ghz Receiver 3Ch SKU: HK-GT2_RX )
Rustler8  17 points - 2/13/2013

I got one of these, and it works fine with servoes, but whith it makes the motor chatter.
Rustler8  17 points - 2/13/2013

would any of u guys know what mode means, I thought that it meant something about helies, but I'm sot sure now.
 J Cramer 12 points
Mode 1 means that the throttle and rudder are on the right control stick. Mode 2 means that throttle and rudder are on the left control stick. Which one you use is determined by preference, and the orientation of the controls for your application. Also your geographic location as some modes are more prevalent in certain countries.

Can someone recommend a pair of cheap transmitters to buddy-box with?
 NewToHobbyKing 6342 points
I could but you not just buy Hobby Kings Buddy Box system. They have 2 on the market. A Wireless Buddy Box System 4CH (Dual RX Controller) SKU: DUAL-RX4-01 and a Wireless Buddy Box System 8CH (Dual RX Controller). This way you can buddy any RC Sets.

will the hobby king 4ch transmitter buddy up with my $pektrum transmitter? And if not what do i need to buddy to the hobby king 4ch? thank you Mike.
 Habner 18 points
No it will not buddy with a $pektrum radio. I think the channels get switched in the cable or something. You probably need a master tx with the same style of trainer port.

My four channel HK system arrived in a timely fashion but, due to poor packaging the housing that supports the transmitter antenna was shattered. Of course, with the stated HK return policy it is impractical to return the system. I did manage to repair it somewhat and it does work. I really wish that HK would do a better job of packaging. It really would not require much more effort.
