Bryan, replacement shaft is HK: RCG 26cc Replacement Prop Hub Assembly PRODUCT ID: 148000033. Mine snapped off as soon as I tightened the lock nut, drilled on an angle. I am buying solid props for this engine, use a drill press to drill holes in the prop using the prop hold outer aluminum ring (3 Holes). need to be precise when drilling prop

What is the torque setting for the prop shaft?

Do you stock the M4F spark plug for this engine? If not what do you stock that is equivalent?

I received mine from the China warehouse and everything looked fine. When I went to install the motor, I noticed the 3 bolt prop pattern is useless and there are no props readily available that can use this set up. When I looked at the threads for the main shaft, the tool used to cut the threads was chattering, and did not complete the threads correctly, and the nut wont even start. 6 emails, 7-8 pictures to "Claims" has only yielded more emails with requests for more pictures. Come on, how expensive can this piece be? Just send me the darn thing. I am still working with Ken to get a new center shaft. I was able to buy one from BJ's engine service in CT. He serviced Aerovate/similar motor and he had one on hand. I have not even been able to run the engine. Looking at the threads, it appear between a 8x1.0 and 1.25 thread pitches. The tool used was obviously no longer sharp, and cut threads while chattering.
Definately not DLE quality.

I have this engine and it has been running good
for 2 seasons. The prop nut supplied has a nylon
insert and will not thread on by hand. It's called a "Aircraft Locking Nut" and has to threated on with a wrench. When installed correctly it will hold the prop with out slipping. I've used wood and carbon props with out any problems.

Very nicely made, very clean construction. I had a slight problem with the prop nut as it would not go on. A trip to the local hardware store, trying different nuts trying to find the thread and it all of a sudden just started to thead fine. May have had a burr in the nut.

(applies to all engines with similar mounting) Long stand-offs to the cast mounting lugs on the case can create a cyclic torsional stress on the lugs. This will snap the mounting lugs off the crankcase. There is no real cure other than to reduce the length of the stand-offs. With the carb on the backplate of the engine you should build a box with a hole for the carb to slide inside, essentially putting a second "firewall" almost at the engine backplate screws. Reduce the stand-off stud length to the minimum practical in this manner and prevent breaking your mounting lugs.

chuckstarck, I hope you are still using the three bolts to hold on your prop. The center nut is not actually designed to secure the prop as on smaller engines, however can be used to help mount a spinner (metric spinner nuts can be purchased for this motor form tru-turn). Please dont fly without using the three prop bolts.

I received this engine from the US warehouse very quickly. Packing is fine and engine looked fine. The engine fired up quickly, but would not continue to run. Adjusted carb back to factory settings. Still would not run. Finally determined the low-speed needle had the tip broken off. I swapped the carb with a Walbro I had laying around and it ran great after that. The carb that came with the engine is not a Walbro, so I would beware. Appears carb quality is questionable. Also, engines are clearly not test run prior to shipment. All that said, even with the cost of a new carb, it is still a good value.

I called BJ's engine service in CT, he had the part, sent me the paypal, and the piece is on it's way. Save your time and money, buy DLE with 2 yr warrenty through Tower Hobbies.

Absolutely love this motor! I hesitated like everyone does when buying budget items from HK, but I took a gamble and am so glad that I did. Turns 18x8 MAS with authority and runs without so much as a sputter. I was worried at first when I could not get it to start, i thought the carb might be plugged. upon reading other reviews, i put a electric starter on it to pull the gas up through the system and it started right up and hasn't quit since.

What a great value priced engine!!! Just put on the front of a 15lb 1/3 piper cub and so far so good. Flies it around with smooth and consistent power now that it's properly tuned. The needles were waaaaay out of whack from factory, but with a little tuning performance with a 17x6 is great. 3 bolt prop mounting is not necessary, just the center bolt and not are more than adequate. Standoff are a little lightweight but helps keep overall weight to a minimum.

HIGHLY recommend for large scale projects where cowl space is at a minimum. Lightweight but effecient and power to spare. Already looking at another one as a 30cc alternative for 25pcnt warbirds and more.

I was a little hesitant to purchase a motor that was this inexpensive. A flying partner of mine who's planes I take care of purchased one for a .90 size warbird. I installed this motor and all I can say is WOW. The needles needed a little TLC but once it's set, this motor rocks. I now own two of them myself, 1 in a Pulse 125XT and the other in a Piper Pawnee crop duster. They start on the first or second flip every single time, turn a 16-8 prop and never hesitate. They look a little rough around the edges but no one can see them inside the cowl. The stock muffler is middle of the raod as far as noise but they sound terrific. 5 stars all the way and as soon as they get back in stock I'm stocking up one a few more.

The only down-side, there is no mounting template, the chinglish instructions are best saved for fire starter and the mounting bolts are a little soft for my taste. I made my own prop washers and threw the 3 bolt washer in the scrap bin. I just cut a piece of used sticky back sand paper the correct size and put it behind the prop. Has been working perfect.
